Move to Fredericksburg, a beautiful place with good schools, low crime and nice neighborhoods. Todays Fredericksburg has everything Nova has that's good and nothing that Fairfax has that's bad , Homes are 1/2 the price , your money goes farther. Van pools galore to Nova and DC , commuter parking lots and now two VRE parking stations one in the city one off Rt 17 near Caroline Co.

5 acres of land backing up to the Rappahannock close to Central Parks huge shopping area City of Fredericksburg and I-95 only 170 K

Sell that Springfield MS-13 dump and pay cash for the land, then with a 175k building loan start your dream house.

YMCA's swimming, exercise, loads of soccer and baseball fields, shopping, churches, the Lower Rappahannock Rivah is close, the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula nearby 135 miles to Norfolk, 160 to Va Beach, Skyline Drive 60 miles away

F-burg is a backward backwoods dump. The only people who live there are those who have no choice.

As soon as I got my pension from FCPS I moved to Front Royal, not downtown but in a nearby subdivision. Paid cash for a 1600 square foot 3 bed 2 bath house ($175,000). Taxes and insurance are 206 a month and the cheapest electricity in the state of Virginia. Very few nogs and spics but plenty of rednecks and I like it!

Fredericksburg used to be a nice southern city. The way they have allowed it to be developed it is little better than Prince William or Stafford. My idea of getting away from it all is not a 90 minute commute each way and having shopping options limited to soulless strip malls. Whatever demographic problems you think you are getting away from will catch up with you in 10 years.

The best area in Fredericksburg is called Mayfield. Anyone should be so lucky to find a home in that heaven.

Now the expensive new subdivisions where houses are 325 K just off I95 exit 126 near Cosner's Corner shopping center on Rt 1

There's hope beyond Fairfax Co. many feds and military retired here, commissary and exchange at Quantico USMC Ft AP Hill not too far away, Dahlgren USN 40 miles but no traffic to both of them and fed jobs at both places

For the price of a crummy 50 + year old condo in Nova, you can own a real home with a yard in the Burg!
