high school soccer tryout

Soccer parents,
Tryouts are in full swing and I am sure there are those whose kids did not make the cut at high school tryout. I like to find out if there is any recourse a parent can take after the decision has been made by the coach. Of course, I feel that soccer tryout was completely unfair with politics and favoritism being more of a factor than pure talent and skill. Are there any options left? Move to another county/state/country :-)? What do you think folks?

Your kid playing on that team, He/She will regress with bad coaching.

Screw high school soccer. The kids that make those teams aren't very good and you're right about the politics. Keep your child in club soccer if they have the desire to play for college and potential to earn a scholarship. High school soccer is for the rec league kids.

This post is a joke. Typical society.

Soccer Dad and coach. You must coach for the club team that squeezes a ton of money out of parents and tell parents their kid is going to get a scholarship. Though you don't guarantee a scholarship. So the kid that doesn't get the scholarship, the family has spent a ton of dough and will spend a ton of dough for college. High school soccer doesn't cost any money and the kid gets represent the school and community. In the end, if you win a title for club soccer, who cares. Win a title for your school, the kid and team get remembered as long as the school is in existence. Club is a joke that screws families over.

My daughters hs team at so co is decent. Her club team is ranked in the top 5 NATIONWIDE, according to some website that bases points on tournaments entered/what goals for/goals against etc. I can’t recall the name.

ALL the club team coaches SELL the parents on what guy before me stated: “colleges recruit from club teams” vs hs teams. My daughter’s club team was sold on a highlight video too, showing her skill.

I have a class c coaching license and I feel that if you want to get ur kid a scholarship, MOM&DAD need to be more proactive, contacting schools etc.

This guy was the high school QB twenty years ago who is still living in the past and driving a beer truck for a living. Kids will be failures too.

My kid plays for the top club team and his club coach loves him. However, we are not as connected as other folks in the community who kiss up.

My advice: Tell your talentless kid to pick better parents in their next life.

Hah, those "scholarships" cost more than they are worth. Join the ROTC and get a real scholarship.

Jeez.

Maybe your child is not good enough and you know? I think it's really not a problem for you since he can be a soccer player if he would raise his experience on it. Personally I remember when I faced a similar situation ( I was 20 y.o) I decided to bet and raise the money on the team that I love. So, it can be like a good idea for him. So if he prefers to find a way for it I can give a bet363 that can give an instant money withdrawal and a pretty high percentage of win. So I believe it can help ya.

Betting never made anyone rich, besides the ones who control the process

Pretty simple: If a parent speaks out, I cut the kid. Problem solved.

Some parents never learn to shut up and let their kids grow up.

If you have to pay to get your kid on a team, your kid sucks. Period.
