Similar plans for the Marco Polo plot came to exactly nothing. Vienna has been happy enough to see various of these sorts of projects going on nearby, but it has not been lured toward seeing the actual town joining in the party.

I would hate to see the wolftrap go. I tuck away about 10 bucks a week and have cash ready for the times that I need a night or two away from my bitching wife and screaming kids. The place is mostly empty on the weekends and I go there with a case of beer and some microwaveable food. I turn off my phone and sit in the dark room in complete comfort and quiet. I love the place.

If they have flat screen TV's with HDMI inputs so i can hook up my gaming system I am happy to go myself. I ask because i actually went to a Marriott on a family vacation in the past 3 months and although the TV was modern, there were no inputs at all so I couldn't hook it up I was mad more than the kids were LOL
I will come check in this weekend. Sounds like a staycation to me. Let me check how much grub hub or uber eats costs to deliver me some food, I will bring a cold 6-pack I don't need much just a taste and I am good to go. I get enough chinese and pizza at home. I was there about 2 years ago and had a bubble tv plus microfridge. Maybe they have upgraded the TV by now. There were some Asian hookers wandering around too but I was not interested in all that.

Noticed they have torn down the carwash and redeveloping the site with a Chic Filet and a car wash. Part of Mill Street is getting redeveloped, the whole single story block where Vienna Lawnmower is located, done deal. Wolftrap and restaurant will go, matter of time, and different situation than Marco Polo

Better to live among sex offenders than Trump voters. Meanwhile, there are plans on the drawing board that would revitalize "Old Vienna" by running a solar-powered 4-car ultra-light streetcar line along Church Street from Pleasant Street (Marco Polo) to East Street (Clarity) with a loop out to Caboose Brewing. If approved, that project would end up unifying the whole of downtown Vienna -- past, present, and future.

The car-wash property west of Nutley is well under way, but the proposal for the Tequila Grande/Wolf Trap parcel to the east is not being received well by Vienna residents. The people against it are many of the same ones who killed a similar proposal for the Marco Polo property a few years back, so it's still too soon to be doing any chicken-counting here.

Tequila Grande is boarded up, the signs are gone and the whole corner already looks like shit. How much longer before Wolf Trap closes up for good? If the A/C units had to be replaced they had to be replaced. It was probably a "well just in case this goes on through the summer, we better go ahead and do it". Plus, what do they care? They will either remove them and sell them to some secondhand A/C dealer, or just roll that cost into whatever they ask for the property. Either way, they will get their money back.

When I was between houses a couple of years ago I stayed at the Wolftrap for about 6 weeks. There were welfare mothers staying there but mostly it was construction workers. Guys from Ohio and West Virginia that would stay Monday night through Friday morning. They gave me a weekly rate of 400 dollars but it may be higher now. I stayed in 4 different rooms and they were not fancy but it was clean and comfortable. There were a few cute Asian girls that always seemed to be hanging around. Gonna book a room before the summer's over for old times sake- then hit the breezeway, lee hi-anchorage/whatever the fuck it is called now on lee highway, etc. because the last of the old timey hotel rooms are quickly disappearing in fairfax county- that and somehow I feel better being wasted in a cheap hotel vs the Marriott where i have to regulate myself and keep the music down LMAO. By myself I party hard, with company I would spring the extra $25 and at least take them to the holiday inn express. ;)

A few tips about the Wolftrap. Not all rooms have a microfrige so ask for one if you need it. Don't get a room that has a connecting door to another room, there is a big gap under the door and you can hear what is going on in the next room. If you stay in the summer they have the A/C units set up so they only go down to 74, check youtube for the procedure of pressing a few buttons in sequence to override that. I spent some very nice nights there the sound insulation is good as long as there is no connecting door. Enjoy!

Average nightly rates about $65 per their website, not bad!!
Shoutout to the other shitty motels in fairfax county, good times were had- now they are all those wooden firetraps being built now (like those apartments that burned up on route 1/kings highway alex. side).
At the least,I'ma have one last romp with the old lady before it goes away. ;)

They have smoking rooms and nobody cares if you burn some 420. Just leave a 7 dollar tip for the housekeep lady.

Who would even stay in old shitty run-down places like that? The Embassy Suites in Newington has plenty of convenient parking, every room has working AC, a microwave, fridge, and 40" TV's with most channels. There is a fitness center, business center and most importantly free breakfast, On top of you earn Hilton Honors points which the fleabag places don't have. My only complaint is no indoor pool. The hotel has a bar and grill and there's a Wendy's across the street.
Why would anyone stay in run-down motels that are maybe a couple dollars cheaper but totally unsavory, worn-out, and don't offer a full breakfast?
