For elect only in a newer condo nestled among others, I can buy that but what's the condo fee LOL! An elevator in the building elevates it quite a bit

I live in an all-electric 4-bedroom townhouse. The heat pump was just replaced a couple of years ago and that kept this month's electric bill under $300.

2400 sq ft energy star single family house built in 2011. Heat pump with ERV and desuperheater to preheat water for electric water heater. The last electric bill was 166 which is higher than my average bill for winter by about 35 bucks.

In this area, gas is almost always better if you have access to it. If you can't afford to live in the civilized parts of the region, you may need to explore the alternatives.

Electric bills you are too lucky. Nuclear power, competitive prices, some of the best line workers in the USA, Virginia Electric / Dominion (well, up until obama+mc'au'lift anyway, may have changed since)

Let's start with gas bills. Years ago Maryland paid heavy advertising that NATURAL GAS would always be FAR cheaper than OIL and pay for itself. THEY EVEN RAN THESE ADS IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS. (PHILLIP MORRIS ALSO RAN ADS IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS HANDING OUT TOBACCO TO 6TH GRADERS, likely with hopes they'd get addicted)

Truth about democrat lies:

* Maryland is the biggest transfer station of ARABIAN NATURAL GAS not made or sold by USA. THEY LIED LIKE CRAP TO FAIRFAX, GRASS ROOTS AND EVERYWHERE, AND SHOULD BE SUED FOR IT.

* depsite that NG is often "thrown away" by oil companies, yet the price has gone up quite a bit once they got allot of customers. at one time i heard people saying they wish they'd stuck with standard oil.

DISCLAIMER:

the current prices or discounts for elderly or whoever i dunno. i have NOT SEEN NG PRICES in many years

little red riding hood

Desuperheaters make so much sense but only in the summer.

Nobody burns gas anymore. Heat pumps are the only way to go. Heat pump water heaters too.

What are you talking about? I don't know a single person with a respectable SFH in this area not equipped with a gas furnace.

The white House has a hot air furnace, there's plenty of hot air left in the system after 8 years of Obama, Trumps trying to get it all cleared out ex order by ex order removing the stale same old Obama air
