Impending Government Shitdown

Shutdowns mean that all essential personnel still report to work, and anyway, all employees are still paid for the time off, regardless. So what actual impact will it have in our area? AFAIK just increased shopping mall traffic. (People that I've asked usually report binge-watching their TV shows.) Maybe it is different for contractors?

Oh excuse me. Enclosed and open walkable urban center traffic.
