What are the best temps to set your thermostat to save money and not freeze pipes over the winter?

At this point everyone should have a programmable thermostat and the daytime setting in winter should be 68 degrees and nighttime setting of 55 degrees. Get some blankets and use them while awakening to a comfortable home in the morning.

Free country, bruh...He can say what he wants. From Trump comes freedom to at long last refer to people as they are.

Somebody behaving like the above poster was addressing? Yeah...that's how cold ass niggers behave. Don't like that? Don't come to this forum.

Whites have been suppressed in this country since the end of the Civil War. The niggers had their run and not surprisingly have fucked everything up. It's white's turn now.

We have our triple fuel system set to 77 degrees right now. Currently, we are burning coal in the unit and it is having no problem maintaining that comfortable temperature.

I think coal produces the best heat - very warm, not too dry (less static) and the unit runs half the time our gas furnace used to. Very toasty!

72 during the day and off at night. Temps rarely get below 60 at night. Furnace fires up 30 minutes before I wake up and heats the whole house up to 72 by the time I'm up.

72 is too cold. Studies have shown that anything under 75 degrees in the winter can increase the chances of your family getting the plato-virus (one of the causes of the common cold). We keep ours set to 78 degrees. Luckily, we have a coal furnace and it keeps the house toasty warm all the time. Nice, dry warmth, too. The house doesn't get all humid like some other furnace types would cause.

Roast at 425 degrees for 90 minutes or until the thing on your back pops out.

Serve with mashed potatoes, gravy, hot yeast rolls, and the veggie of your choice.

about 78 degrees. This is recommended by the national coal association.

And to the person who mentioned black lung - that is a myth propagated by the solar industry. Coal is clean burning and provides excellent warmth.

The daytime temp in winter should be 68 degrees and nighttime temp of 55 degrees. Get some blankets feather ticks and quilts, light off the fireplace and leave the door open on the oven set at 450 , and use the heavy bed coverings at night to awaken to a drafty cold home in the morning.

With a lousy drafty heat pump instead of a gas furnace

Whites have been suppressed since the end of the civil war? That's a good one!

To slow climate change, I set thermostat at 80 and keep windows open. Everyone else should do same to help out.

I've been complaining that the landlord keeps the heat too low. Freezing my ass off, even with several layers of thermal blankets, body very cold to the touch, walls are around freezing and painful to touch...

Yesterday afternoon landlord is screaming and freaking out. Pipes burst and two floors are totally flooded, lots of water damage. My room is the floor above, no problems. Illegal space heater in my room blasting away :)
