C & O Trail Biking

Anyone ever bike the whole distance, like from Georgetown to Pittsburgh (or close)?

How long did it take?

How difficult was it

Several days. Some sections are barely a trail and require a true mountain bike and would not be passable on a street bike.

I did the trail in a day and a half. It wasn't that hard. It was when I got to the end of the trail that I realized how lame biking is and that I should get a real hobby.

C&O Trail goes to Cumberland than you take the Great Allengany Passage(GAP) Trail to Pittsburgh. Hardest part was around Cumberland and Frostburg. That section is about a 25 mile climb uphill. Took me 6 days on a mountain bike.

C&O is about 186 miles to Cumberland. 3 days is enough for just biking, but I prefer taking it slower and actually enjoying the sights along the way. Haven't done the GAP to Pittsburgh.

troll POSTing

if you become incapacitated you'll freeze like a popsicle because no-one will see you or find you, which is why you don't see people on the trail in the winter

I did this trail in about six hours last winter. It is not hard at all. Unfortunately, when I was done I realized I was really gay because I like riding bikes.

Bikers suck. Bikes suck. Only gays ride them.

Cars are the only way humans should travel. At least humans with balls that are not gay.

Plan on about 6 days. There will be something areas that you might not pass another biker all day so be prepared if you flat or break a chain. It is a good ride. Do it...

I would not recommend it.

I did this trail in about 9.2 hours. It was a little fun, despite the rain and cold weather.

But, when I was done, my nuts were shrunken to the size of small pine nuts and I realized I was gay. I hear this happens to most people who ride bikes.

In the end, they feel extremely gay and completely retarded.
