Where can I find a real phone booth in Northern Virginia?

Are there any phone booths still in operation anywhere in Northern Virginia?

Where might they be?

There used to be a phone booth at/near the intersection of Backlick rd and Old Keene Mill, but it went away probably 5 years+ ago. I haven't seen any others in years.

Verizon began to downsize the workgroups for their "Coin" division back around 2001. Some of the last phones were at airports, but those are pretty much gone, too.

you fucking asswipe - you need an internet to find a phone?

what is the point in that?

anyone who "needs a payphone" for anything legal (and legal is what i doubt in this instance) doesn't have a fucking internet

We had this conversation last night, and we were simply wondering where any actual working pay phones might be located.

Sorry if this question disturbed some.

Happy New Year,

Cheers!

We used to ride our bikes around Lake Accotink and use the pay phone located by the marina to call 411 every day and ask the operator what time it was. That was l-o-n-g before cell phones.

There is a pay phone over there in Fairfax Circle at the Arthur Treacher's. It is in the back by the bathrooms. While you are there, might as well get a nice fresh, hot fish and chips dinner and maybe a grape Fanta.

That's Derek Mohler's "business" phone line. Please do not use it to call law enforcement.

Derek Mohler uses the pay phone at Glory Days in Burke to sell his drugs. Everyone at Glory Days knows that pay phone is Derek's office phone.

Greenbriar Town Center has pay phones in front of Marshall's. I watched a guy run a "business" from those phones for a couple of years.

Supposedly, the last free-standing phone booth in Northern Virginia was located on 10th Street in the Clarendon section of Arlington. Below is the WaPo article about it.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/11/21/AR2007112102363.html

Interestingly, some asshole literally rammed it with their car (see the ominous quote in the article) a few days after the article ran and the booth was never replaced.

There was also one on the sidewalk next to St. James Catholic School in Falls Church City until probably ~15 years ago.

Great, now Miz will be traveling to Falls Church from Loudoun to call 911 in Henrico to SWAT eesh, because he knows they won't be able to trace it, because, technically, it's a long distance call.
