About the "less than 1 percent African" thing in the 23andme reports:

I don't think they are doing this with people who have "racist" profiles online ... I think they are doing or may be, with all white people.

My sister is not a racist. We are "white", her test results showed the same remark

"less than one percent African"

So they can get the percentages rather exact for other ehtinicites, German, Irish, etc. ... but for African it is "less than one percent"..

To me, adding <1 percent Black or whatever is no big deal.

That means,the racist guy who was 14 percent black is actually at least 13 percent black. No big difference.

Leaving aside the privacy implications of handing over your DNA,
could you elaborate on what kind of results you are disputing?

I haven't done the profiling thing, but I am just guessing that they look
for a lot of SNPs that are known to be correlated exclusively with certain
populations, and then tell you the results in some statistical form.

Are you saying that the testing is bogus, or that the SNP correlation is bogus,
or that the way they present the data is misleading, or something else?
A specific example from a report from one of these places would be useful.

The palm reader will look at... your palm. You have no idea if the labs even test your DNA. They likely just fabricate it all. Saves them time and money.

Fake news? Do people really believe these DNA search companies deliver an accurate account of an individual's history using their spit on a q-tip? The scam is people pay these outfits to compile, store and sell their families DNA to the highest bidder. They get back some bullshit story about being related to royalty somewhere in the past. They probably have a database full of different scenarios they rotate out to "customers" while the other side of the shop sells the information to drug and insurance companies.

Oh and the 1% African component is to cover for the fact that enough white women throughout history have at some point in their lives have dabbled in the desire for the BBC and enough of them have experienced it to make it a factor in compiling the results.
