Wow, when I thought I saw Oakton play they were the worst HS team I ever seen, West Po says,”hold my Gatorade”. They stink! Fundamentally bad! At least 8 fumbled direct snaps. Oakton should pay someone to get a game against West Po now! Worst part is the entire 2nd half Bulldogs had JV kids in there and WPO kept their starters in the ENTIRE GAME & still couldn’t score, their offense was moving backwards most of the night, they gave up a safety and 2 fumbles returned for TD one of which the Bulldogs JV scooped and scored on. WPO Coach is a doofus and #66 I believe is a cheap shot artist. But yeah that was the worst football I had every seen. Horrible team and coaching. Don’t know how they every won any games.

Worst football teams in Nova were Wakefield 2010-2012. Absolutely terrible. Oakton this year might be worse though.

How the hell do teams go downhill so fast? West Pot has been at least competitive the previous three years: 8-4, 9-3, 5-5. But damn, I agree, they were worse than Oakton. I've never seen so many fumbles in a game. Had to be at least 15+ total.

Wakefield 2012 was the worst I've seen. Stuart had some horrible teams in the early 2000's and TJ has had some next level bad teams in recent years but never saw them in person.

Hats off to Woodson they are having a great season, 8-1 with Fairfax as the last game. They haven't been relevant in football in about 10 years.

Its good to see some of the older schools competitive on Fridays nights

I'd be inclined to say that TJ is so bad that people hardly consider them a varsity team...

I mean they're so absolutely horrendous that 90% of their wins are practically homeschooled and church based recreational teams.

Not that it matters though, they are a magnet school after all so I wouldn't think it'd be fair to place them as the worst team considering who and what they are as a school.

Speaking of which, teams declining so fast, wtf is wrong with Woodbridge. Never seen a team implode like that towards the end of the season. They started off like serious contenders to represent the north, blowing everyone out and then play Freeson W and the wheels have fallen off. Person most happy about not having to see Woodbridge in playoffs has to be Doc but don’t sorry you’ll face another PWCO in Freedom and you’ll be scared to get off the bus again along with your players.

Not been just any one thing. Their senior qb got tossed out of the Colgan loss early in the game and was not allowed to play against Hylton. Their senior rb got hurt early against Freedom. Their highly recruited jr lb got hurt in the Colgan loss and didn't play against Hylton. But there were warning signs even before the Freedom loss that perhaps they was over-rated.

Actually in all the scenarios I have run LB will face SOCO in the first round, Freedom will face MV

Correction, in the most likely scenario LB faces Rob. If SoCo beats them next week then they will face SoCo in round 1.

Guess when you play for yourself and worry about your own personal stats to impress the recruiters and not playing for your team things like this will occur. Always thought they were overrated a bit. When you have to be that loud when entering a room you must be overcompensating for something.

More than likely LB will meet a PWCo school in 2nd rd just like last year

0-10 Season Pt. 2: Electric Boogaloo?

Didn't even realize how poorly Oakton was doing until recently. Well, there's a solid .8% chance that they somehow defeat Hayfield in their home.

What's up next for them?

The coaches need to leave. If they come back, the program will have 15 players returning next year. Wins and losses aside, the environment has been toxic with many kids - who played - quitting mid season. If they want any hope of being coaches anywhere else (can’t imagine who would want them, but it is high school football after all), they will submit their resignations in November. Problem is, the AD is invested in them as they were were his hire. This program needs to start over.

Robinson V. Lake Braddock in the playoffs would be great for the rivalry. They had some battles around 10 years ago

Doc said that this senior class for Woodson would be really good when he was there. That's why he started the development of these players early and now you are seeing the benefit of that development.

Hopefully they will not have to see Doc's Bruins again, they are on a roll

Doc knew nothing about this group! He and his flunkies only focused on the upperclassmen and not a minute of development went into this group of seniors. Not a one of them had a down of Varsity snaps prior to the current staff getting here. The majority of these kids don’t even know who he is.

Don’t tarnish nor down play the work this group has done under the new crew by saying the dude that left them before even putting a finger on them deserves credit for developing them! No sir! This group is no where near 8-1 under Doc and crew, not even close to competing with South County and LB and would have never beat Robinson.

This group for the first time since 2009 has the Cavs with a winning season and it’s due to the hard work and vision of the current staff getting them to buy in.

A Battlefield win alone is not enough - Yorktown must also lose to WNL for Battlefield to be 8th.

My guess is that the chances of both of these happening is near zero.

Most of the shade being thrown about on FU is from Chantilly coach’s, mainly the HC. He honestly believes WF is overrated and not that good. It would make the whole season for Chargers I’d they can beat WF and end their streak. It’s all he’s obsessed about all season.

Same with the Woodbridge and Lake Braddock coaches. Perhaps they'd be better off focusing on winning their next game.

I hope Chantilly can knock off Westfield. Doesn't seem likely but maybe he has the magic potion to get it done.

Truth be told they are not as good as last three seasons. But doesn't matter. As everyone keeps saying - you only have to be better than the team you are playing right now.

I seriously doubt the coaches for any schools come on this thread, sure they have better things to do. It's mainly fans, parents, and students, sure most of the trash is from students, can't imagine adults spewing this stuff. The dead giveaway it's probably a kid is the misspelling of "Suouth County" & "Qince Orchard".

I seriously doubt a coach posted the one about WF's scrimmages. Had a true coach watched them they probably would have been impressed with how well WF's defense did. I would think especially against DeMatha since WF's D was supposed to be the teams weak link and Dematha's starters only scored once if I remember correctly.

The rain could have had something to do with some of these games, however I did not attend any games. Any feedback or confirmation?

1. Annandale @ Hayfield (-17)
- Trap game for Hayfield... better play it safe - I think they will. The win streak ends for the Atoms.

- Hayfield blows past Annandale, 53-14.

2. Chantilly @ Centreville (-30)
- Wildcats come out pissed off and blast Chantilly.

- Centreville wins and covers, 49-14.

3. Freedom - South Riding @ Stone Bridge (-40)
- Same situation here with SB.

- Stone Bridge wins and covers, 49-0.

4. Herndon (-7) @ Langley
- Toss-up... Herndon gets win #4

- Herndon wins and covers, 44-20.

5. Lake Braddock (-30) @ West Springfield

- LB wins and covers easily, 47-12.

6. Madison (-42) @ Oakton
- Is this game still dubbed the "Outback Bowl" or did Outback stop sponsoring the game due to Oakton being atrocious?

- Madison won but did not cover, 42-14. Heard Madison played the starters for 1 series. But hey, Oakton has matched their season total for points in 1 game! Improvement. *Sarcasm*

7. Marshall (-30) @ Edison

- Marshall won but did not cover, 27-0.

8. McLean @ Washington-Lee (-7)
- Someone gets their first win of the season! McLean has lost close to 20 in a row, so give me W&L in a close one...

- Washington-Lee won and covered, 25-7. Congrats on the first win! That makes it.... 20 straight losses for McLean.

9. Mount Vernon @ T.C. Williams (-7)
- Give me T.C. in an upset! MV.... if you have 3 turnovers, you will lose. TC has the athletes that Annandale lacks.

- Mount Vernon won 32-25, in Overtime.

10. Northern Virginia Kings @ Thomas Jefferson (-7)
- TJ beat them last year, so...

- TJ won and covered, 28-0. Also shut them out! Northern VA Kings must be terrible. Good way for TJ to end their season. (Schedule Wakefield, McLean, and Oakton next year)

11. Robinson @ Woodson (-9)
- Game of the week. Good test for Woodson against a physical Robinson team that has been struggling as of lately.

- Woodson wins and covers with minimal problems, 27-7.

12. South County (-21) @ Fairfax

- SoCo blanks Fairfax 42-2.

13. Stuart (-21) @ Wakefield

- Stuart won and covered, 37-6.

14. West Potomac @ Westfield (-28)

- Westfield dominated West Potomac, 57-0, on Senior Night. Rare to see the Bulldogs run the score up like that. I'm guessing the weather had a lot to do with this score, as I'm sure Simmons put everyone in the game.

15. Yorktown (-10) @ South Lakes
- SL beat up on the weak teams in the district, I think Yorktown comes out ready to go on the road.

- South Lakes won 35-14. I don't think they are as bad as some of us predicted earlier in the year.

Final week of the regular season! Some teams playing for playoff position, some just playing for pride. I think every major rivalry game should be played on the last week of the regular season. Nonetheless, here we go...

1. Annandale @ T.C. Williams (-15)

2. Centreville (-7) @ Madison
- Game of the week. Should be an entertaining match-up, to say the least.

3. Falls Church @ Stuart (-13)
- The Bell Game!

4. Lake Braddock (-13) @ South County
- Co-Game of the week. Good tune up for the Bruins before the playoffs. Not sure if SoCo makes the playoffs this year..

5. Lee @ Edison (-9)
- Franconia Road bragging rights.

6. McLean @ Langley (-15)

7. Oakton @ Hayfield (-45)

8. South Lakes (-24) @ Herndon
- These schools don't like each other.

9. Stone Bridge (-10) @ Broad Run
- I can see SB getting upset again, but I think Mickey will have the boys ready. SB should treat this like the 1st round of the Playoffs.

10. Wakefield @ Marshall (-35)

11. Washington-Lee @ Yorktown (-28)
- Yorktown will be the kings of Arlington with a win. Not sure if SL or Yorktown won the district, or if this weeks games decide that...

12. Woodson (-35) @ Fairfax

13. West Potomac @ Mount Vernon (-14)
- The Battle of Rt. 1. MV looking for their first win against West Potomac since 2006, I think they'll get it too.

14. West Springfield @ Robinson (-10)
- Robinson has looked bad lately, I'm looking for them to get back on track.

15. Westfield (-40) @ Chantilly

I know for a fact that no LB coaches are on here. None. They are so focused on their team and individual success on and off the field that it’s hard to get their attention about anything else.

I find it amusing that “Doc” is one of the most frequently used words on this thread. Get him out of your mouths and focus on your own program and kids.

How many posts will follow this one and mention LBSS coaching staff? Many because they are great people both on and off the field which is a winning combination in high school sports regardless of the scoreboard.

At the end of the day, there's a 99% chance that we're just a bunch of old guys bickering about our alma mater because we sort of kind of miss those days and our NFL or college team isn't doing so hot.

I'm one of them.

Take Warhawks by 5 at home.

Hate to say it but LB by 14. SOCO can’t beat any good teams heck be competitive against them.

> 5. Lee @ Edison (-9)

Over under on the PF calls more interesting than the game itself. Lee -10

> 6. McLean @ Langley (-15)

Saxons big let down last week gets right this week -21

> 7. Oakton @ Hayfield (-45)

Hendo will lead his starters in for 3 qtrs which is 2 qtrs way too much just to make himself feel good about himself. Hawks -55

> 8. South Lakes (-24) @ Herndon

May not like each other but one is considerably worse than the other and can do little about it. SL doing what SL does, crush bad teams, -30 remember, playoffs around the corner and more than likely will see WF in 2nd rd.

> 9. Stone Bridge (-10) @ Broad Run

Not sold on BR, SB -18.

> 10. Wakefield @ Marshall (-35)

Marshall loves beating bad teams but 1st rd of playoffs around the corner and looks like Patriot or SL is looming and they will get crushed again.

Yorkies, better hope not to be the 8th seed. Dose of reality about to hit you like a semi.

> 12. Woodson (-35) @ Fairfax

Woodson by -28. Rebels are horrible. They have regressed this year and expect them to be worse next year. 1-9 at best, that’s right calling it now!

> 13. West Potomac @ Mount Vernon (-14)
> - The Battle of Rt. 1. MV looking for their first

MV by 60. Majors will hang 60 on them with no problem. WPO maybe worse than Oakton at this point.

> 14. West Springfield @ Robinson (-10)

Rams finish by beating a weak WS team -20

All depends on how early Simmons subs. Better not sub to early, offense got outscored by defense last week. ha. -28

If you don’t think coaches read and post (response to some of the snarky stuff) you’re sadly mistaken.

Even more sadly, I know for a fact that players read this too.

This thread has over 61K views. Coach’s, players, students, parents all over NOVA read this, so don’t tell me that some coach’s or his minions aren’t on here posting now and then, they do!

What if any coaches will not return after this season. Based on this thread is seems that West Po and Chantilly will be looking for new coaches...anyone else?

CHS coach Curry is in his 2nd year and has improved that situation a lot.inspite of having to deal with some jerk parents who will be long gone next year expect them to go 6-4 and close the gap between them and WF. He ain’t going anywhere.

I think Oakton coach will be gone by Dec. This offseason will not be as tumultuous as last year’s was.

Hi all,

Has anyone successfully filed an appeal for a game ejection and future suspensions given under the fighting rule? The AD won’t help and I am not sure the Principal will either.

Don’t ask me, I have no idea. If I did then maybe my season wouldn’t be over.

I have heard of successful appeals. In one case it was a multi-player brawl and it was determined that several players were mis-identified by officials and wrongfully ejected.

However, according to VHSL rules the principal of your school must approve your appeal. So if your AD and principal aren't going to assist you are out of luck.

The Actual NOVA Top 10 - Prove Me Wrong

1. Westfield (9-0) 33 straight. #1 until beaten.
2. Stone Bridge (8-1) Shocking upset by T. Thought they were unbeatable.
3. Broad Run (8-1) 9-0 on the field. Do they have the power to take down SB?
4. Centreville (8-1) Strong defense. Almost complete team. Need WRs.
5. Tuscarora (6-3) Tusky turmoil. New HC. Inconsistent performance.
6. Madison (7-2) Quietly underrated.
7. Champe (5-4) Getting better every week. Will dominate Class 6 next year.
8. Freedom Woodbridge (8-1) Very physical defense.
9. WT Woodson (8-1) Nice season. Should get a playoff win as #1 seed.
10. Hayfield (8-1) Weak schedule. Weak district.

Next:
Lake Braddock (7-2) Sorry, no team that gets beat 70-3 should ever make a top 10

Champe doesn’t belong there, not with 4 losses. And as far as your claim that they will dominate 6D next year is a laugher. They are a decent team but not ready for prime time. CVHS Madison, WF, LB, RHS will al roll them. Heck CVHS shut them out this year, imagine what WF would do to them.

that is so frustrating - I can't actually get hold of the coach or the principal to ask my questions or make my points. the AD won't do anything he doesn't like to rock the boat ever.

If i can't get hold of someone to consider an appeal, it doesn't seem right that there is no other course of action

i am getting the feeling the school doesn't want to bring any more attention to themselves - especially as it relates to football :-(

Dunno. I like Champe. Any team that can beat Tuscarora is ready for prime time. They had a tough schedule. Westfield cupboard will be bare next year and Champe will probably go undefeated. You heard it here first.

Everyone says that about WF every years. 2017 the cupboard was bare but they go 15-0 and 3peat. 2018 they def not going. To be good and guess what... WF will still have QB and RB returning along with Taj and few other pieces. I think they’ll be alright.

What does JC have? Small o-line, very good WR but no QB to get him the ball. If I were #9’s parents, I’d get him to another school, don’t be surprised if Mickey doesn’t get him next year with Stone Bridge Bulldogs.

As long as Noah Kim is the QB, Westfield will be competitive. Smart, decent arm, good legs, good down field vision and smart. Yeah, I wrote smart twice, cause that's his #1 quality and sets him apart from the rest of the QB's around here. WF is lucky to have him. He's been groomed as a QB since his first flag football team 7 years ago.

WF also has a decent QB in waiting, Shields. He has yet to prove himself against first team varsity competition on a regular basis but he has shown a good deal of skill as the JV QB.He will get another year of seasoning behind Kim next year. He will only start for his senior season but he is on track to be at least decent, if not better than that. WF will also have a better running game next year, if Daniel learns to hit the hole faster and the FR RB learns and improves-he has both size and speed and a huge upside, IMO.

Meh. Shields is OK, but has the running game to fall back on with the JV team. My kid played with both Jack and Noah in SYA. Noah was an obvious starting QB. Jack was good, but he's no Noah Kim.

Huh. Unless Mickey recruits something better than what he's got SB isn't going to have a QB next year either.

Took them awhile to get their act together. But go ahead and write them off. They are capable of beating anyone in the region any week. Not many teams you can say that about.

If I were Champe’s #9, I’d get right over to WF and play with their QB. Looking at the landscape of teams for next year, he is by the best arm in the north region & WF looks like they will have a weakness at the WR position.

so i asked around about this and it is mostly true the obsessed part anyway. its like 3rd hand but chantilly really does think it's easy to run on wesfield. they think because they had 1 or 2 series in a meaningless game last year where they ran the ball it will always be like that. plus they like to talk about the last two westfield losses to briaer woods and stune bridge where they were run on. they figure on 300 or 400 yard rushing on friday

Why risk $350K on a noodle arm QB when you could go to Stone Bridge or Broad Run or Westfield or even Lake Braddock where top D1 schools recruits from in the North? Stay at Champe and go to D1-AA? FBS>FCS.

If it was that easy why didn't Madison or Centreville, both teams that are far superior to Chantilly, not run for a ton of yardage on WF. Anyone that thought WF was going to be weak against the run should have watched their scrimmages against DeMatha and Quince Orchard. Neither one of those teams did much and DeMatha is a WCAC school, QO one of the best public school programs in Maryland. But for the sake of it, let's just say Chantilly can run, they still can't stop the assault that WF's offense is going to unleash on them.

BR kid got what he did cuz his dad is HC at BR dumbass. Classmof 2020 it’s Kim. LB (21). WSHS then BR (are the only decent arms).

Fuck stick, I have no dog in this race but you are stating that The kid was recruited by and committed to a Division 1 ACC school because his father is head coach? Clearly you have no idea how big time college works. Coaches who lose get fired. They offer a QB who they know can play at that level and will help them win. Where has Kim been offered, just curious?

Have no idea if he has one or has even been offeded. You obviously don’t know how recruiting works. You don’t think having a dad as HC who can network and contact coaches on his kids behalf doesn’t provide him with a leg up? You’re a fucking mouth breathing retard then & have nothing else to say to you cuz you’re a damn idiot.

At that level and at that position colleges can’t afford to offer a kid because they want to keep his dad happy. Those major D1 schools can’t afford to miss on a qb. They can really only bring in one a year on scholarship and if they offer it means they’ve evaluated him as a player they think they can develop and win with. Now I understand that there is also a RB at BR and some college programs offer a kid at a school to get in good graces with the progra, in order to get a bigger fish at the same school. There may be some of that going on here, but it’s doubtful because of the qb position. It’s not like the other positions where you will take 2-4 each year and can afford a likely miss in order to get a player at another spot who will make a difference. They call this packaging players. My gut tells me the colleges think this qb can play. Stop selling him short because his dad happens to be the coach.

Hey region watcher I am sorry to have to break ranks with you but you are way off base on this one. There is no chance that wake forest offered this kid a full ride because they want to get in good with his father . Is undersized like not nearly as short as the kid from Tuscarora. They like to throw the ball. The ball 4245 time down there and need someone who can make all of the throws if you watched week play Notre Dame you would have seen a pretty good team with a red shirt sophomore quarterback struggled and really hurt their chances to keep it close. And thank you Mr. Tatum for chiming in since you are the only living breathing person on the face of the planet that thinks the Stonebridge quarterback is better than the program quarterback .

Let's end this quickly. Seen all 3 play. Tatum does not belong in the same conversation as the other 2. Allen is a playmaker but is a runt. Griffis is the real deal and a legit D1 QB.

Where did all the PWCO, Woodbridge supporters go? Things not looking good for them next year, JV didn’t win a game. With out some serious infusion of talent I think they go 4-6. Rebel Run guys pack up their cameras and split? Bet they at Freedom W or Hylton.

Why are schools rescheduling games because rain is in the forecast when 97% of schools have turf fields?

It's not that far-fetched of an idea. If you look at the one team that has played close games against Westfield in the Simmons era it is Robinson. And they always utilized a power running game. Ate clock and hammered away. OK they didn't win any games but 5 of the 8 games were within 7 points.

I get that but this WF team is not like those previous WF teams, the offense is the most explosive since the days of the Glennons, Royal, & Royster. So even if you burn the clock, WF's offense is capable of scoring quickly, they've done it all year. But my main point is that all year long, mainly before the regular season began, everybody was on here about how weak the WF defense, especially the line, was. I think they've proven they are anything but, they've played well all season, given up very few big plays. Plus, as far as tomorrow night is concerned I don't think you could compare Chantilly to the Robinson teams that gave WF some tough hard-nosed contests.

And they miss it next year when they go 4-6. Biggest mistake they did was scheduling soft teams during season.

Do they schedule or do the two PWC conferences cross-schedule and they just got the bottom of the pack this year?

Realignment next year puts all the Prince William/Faquier/Manasass (Champe from Loudon too) schools in 6B, with Colonial Forge and them. 6D got a hell of a lot thinner, just means Chantilly and Herndon will sneak in next year. Woodbridge Hylton and them moved out of 6C into 6B as well. Crazy shake up with many teams moving north to south.

Thunder in forecast was reason for moving up. Also gives playoff teams the edge as opposed to playing Saturday then having a shorter week.

Is this actually final? I know the Stafford schools were originally supposed to be in a region with the rest of the state outside. They appealed but PWC did not want them and it was initially rejected. Half of Hampton Roads 6A teams moved down and a few here moved up so there were enough schools around here for three regions and one for Stafford and the rest of the state.

According to the link Class 6 is still not approved, but it appears the other classes are?
