Where are all of you homer Stone Bridge fans right now. You have one of the, if not the top recruited teams in the entire state and you can’t beat Tusky? Given all the issues at Tuscarora this week they were prime for the beatdiwn and you guys choked. Don’t give me that shit about how superior Stone Bridge football is. Coaching wins titles, not players. Thompson and company just aren’t that good at the X’s & O’s.

Refs were definitely paid off to make sure Westfield won this game. They wait to make their biggest calls each time C'ville was about to score! Every close call went Westfield's way. That was the worst deliberate change of a game outcome EVER in VHSL history. I suspect there will be suspensions coming after they review the game video!

Outside of penalties, Centreville had probably 5 first downs. They were atrocious offensively. Westfield received many questionable penalties as well.

Doc has the LB train rolling along with a 41-13 victory over a strong Fairfax team. The "best staff in the state" is showing everyone this team is for real!!!

As many people on this site has said, they will run the table again this year and win the Patriot district.

Not sure to many team will want to face them in the playoffs, watch out the Bruins are on a roll.

Prior coach left program in shambles. New coaching staff are clowns that do not belong in this class. Dearth of talent. Absolutely the worst HS football team I have ever seen. Poor kids are up against it. They need to be coached, not reprimanded by clueless fools who run the wishbone in 2018. Teach them to tackle. Review films from the games. Scheme for the matchup. Take some blame. A two-win freshman and one-win JV team will not improve the program's fortunes next year. Program will lose a third of those kids next year, just like they did this year. Current staff has given up and created a toxic atmosphere by pressuring talented kids to quit and fostering an adversarial relationship with training staff. FCYBL volunteer coaches from Vienna and Chantilly programs game plan 100 times better than this staff. The players who stick out this miserable season to the end should be awarded medals. Kids playing with injuries hidden from trainers and suffering humiliation every week will hopefully learn true life lessons. Very sad.

You're an idiot, Westfield had more penalties for more yards. There were atrocious calls on both sides, but none determined the game. The better team won the game, plain and simple, please face reality!

I know they didn’t have their starting RB for the game (got hurt last week) did QB get hurt during this game? Still Vikings should’ve been able to physically steamroll the Colgan team.

Don't like to kick them when they are down but having been at the Freedom Woodbridge game last week I called Woodbridge soft. One thing I noticed is there were way to many situations during that game where Woodbridge players were NOT giving a good effort on every play. Taking plays off. Being lazy. Don't know if they were just demoralized or what but I saw a lot of no effort plays. That's the about the only explanation for Colgan beating them. Colgan is nowhere near their level in ability.

At first I thought I posted this. It’s right on target! Plenty of playing time for all last night. A great senior night for LB! The other team lost but wasn’t destroyed or hurt.

This is football. Save the sport. Coaching is more than points on the board and the best in the state is at LB.

Boy, look who Doc ran the score up on??????

That's a strong team???????

Doc's staff has to stop it here!

Look who his former players did against this West Springfield (51-13) whose record is:

Home Away Neut Win % PF PA Strk
2-2 3-1 0-0 .625 239 241 2L

There is no way Doc is 7-1 at Woodson this year if he stayed. If he thought so, he would not have left. Yeah, they beat them. I hope LB gets them in the playoffs. Doc knew their weaknesses. Helps a lot. BTW, 80% of the Woodson coaches are ex LB.

I second that except for the spelling mistakes.

If you could, you’d get your kid into the LB boundaries by spring training. Coach Doc runs a program that turns out young men which is a step above athlete.

I know nobody cares about Falls Church on here, and everyone always points out the weak conference. However, can we take a moment to appreciate the fact that they started 0-4, and now are on a 5 game winning steak with 2,000 yard RB. They are one win away from winning their district. I think coach Aziz is a great coach, and has done a great job. Will he be the the next HC that moves on to a bigger school?

Is OS strangle hold on the south loosening? Very well could see some new teams in Hampton this year.

Colonial Forge or Manchester or Indian River - Freedom W or WF would have to be considered favorites

IR is 5A, so OS is lucky they don’t have to face them come playoff time. But I do agree that we could see some new team emerging from the south. Impressive that OS has made it past 4/5 yrs but time for someone else (I’m sure WF coach’s like their chances against them & wouldn’t mind seeing them for a 4th time).

Now I don’t like SB or Tusky’s chance against a team from the south this year whether it’s HS or IR.

Indian River is a Class 5 team. Heard OS had some injuries. OS, Ocean Lakes, CF or Manchester - one of those 4 in the finals.

WF, Freedom W likely from north. Still it's possible Madison or Centreville could make a run if things fall right. Madison defense is just as good as Centreville and their QB is better. Madison will beat Centreville.

What’s that saying, if you have 2 QB’s you have none, that would sum up Madison. The one QB has a noodle arm the other likes to throw it to the other team. Wildcats QB is def better than those 2, he’s probably the 2nd best qb in the district. Dark horse is LB, they are playing better.

The QB with the noodle arm is more mobile than the Centreville QB. Sure he doesn't look as good but he's a playmaker and reads defenses better. There's more to being a QB than throwing a deep ball and a tight spiral.

Madison’s defense is definitely a notch above Centreville’s. I’ve seen both teams play against Westfield, Madison definitely did a better job of slowing WF than Centreville did. I would also give the nod to Madison’s offense as well, Centreville had a total of 130 yards and maybe 5 first downs against WF. Before any Centreville fans jump on this comment WF had just as many penalties if not more than Centreville. I also think Madison is more physical than Centreville, in all phases. Just my opinion, I’m sure they’ll be plenty of those that disagree, it’s all good.

2nd half WF-MHS, WF ran the ball pretty effectively. Al game long WF moved the ball pretty effectively 20-20 then stalled in red zone. Missed field goal, bad snap and once chose to go for it early on when they were in FB range. CVHS & MHS are pretty even in my book, all depends on if CVHS HC chooses to outsmart himself
and abandon what made them successful, run to set the pass and come out throwing. But losing Price def hurt their offense, he was a tough in between the tackles runner that could take it to the house if you didn’t bring him down right away.

Indian River recruited some of the best talent from the area. And it's Oscar Smith's fault that they drove their starting QB away towards the Braves team, too. It'll be a battle to see the eventual battle vs Highland Springs. I. River methodically took out each of the top Smith players one by one. At one point, Smith was down to their 4th RB and they'd knocked out Kelley too.

With those same players out on defense, I. River took advantage & was able to get out on the edges for their big plays.

Late in the 4th quarter & Kelley hobbled but taped up, the Tigers began what looked like another crazy comeback. They recovered a fumble on the I. River 29 after making it 28-16. But with only the 4th string RB & Kelley a sitting duck, they couldn't score and the game was over.

Indian River is now the 757 version of Ocean Lakes with their high number of recruits and The school which the 757Colts, feeder program sends their players. Sad day in Chesapeake! But it had to end at some point. Oscar Smith is now more like Western Branch was a few years back. Coach Johnson was their coach then too. A really good team but missing what it takes to win big games.

The decline has begun.... It's was a nice ride.

The ability of Glenwood Ferebee to recruit players over to Indian River is VERY impressive. That school is one of the lowest performing Chesapeake schools academically, the students bully each other with impunity and it's a pit despite just having a recent renovation.

I think Aziz would only move to the right school. He may not get a lot of $$ and parent support at FC, but he has much better athletes than a lot of the "bigger" schools. He turned down Oakton last year and turned down an interview for Chantilly. I think there are a lot of things at FC that frustrate him, but overall he has a pretty good situation it might be hard to walk away from. They have a lot of raw talent in the 9th and 10th grade, so he could be looking forward to that. But you never know.
You might see his OC/O line coach get a chance to take over somewhere. Smart guy who knows how to coach.

Even though you may be overjoyed to see the most egregious recruiting school in the DMV fall on Friday (Tuscarora knocked off Stone Bridge 24-14), let's not forget that before he left, Burnett lied, cheated and stole his way to the top as well.

Tuscarora quarterback recently was involved in drinking (again!), so not sure why he is still being allowed to play. Second offense since August.

And we all have heard about the sexual assault that took place in the locker room.

Hell, the quarterback doesn't even live in Tuscarora boundary - he lives in the mansions on Route 15 and is supposed to be going to Loudoun County High School.

Why doesn’t someone go after these awful practices and guilty people? Save the sport! Turn these people in for the sake of keeping all programs healthy?

These offending schools are turned in all of the time. No one enforces the rules.
Stone Bridge is being looked at right now, and even sat kids when they were worried that they might have to forfeit each game that the kid played in. They only need three or four wins without the ineligible kids playing to make the playoffs.

The sport is being killed by these practices. Every team that loses every game folds. Build the powerhouses like SB and everyone else gets stomped. So SB is the best and then no one else even has a team. SB is ...Who cares because there’s no one to play. These power hungry men and their football zombie boys need to think about what they’re doing.

Rule enforcers? Hello? Do you need someone to investigate YOU? LCPS should be ashamed.

Who do I contact to complain? I’m ready to turn these illegal practices in and demand action. I’ll just call the WAPO. SB, straighten up and stop the people in charge who arent watching. All heads should roll for allowing these things. DSA? Head principle? Are you paying attention to the SB program and what they do?

Why hasn’t the program shut down while the sexual assault case is being investigated? Where’s there’s smoke there is fire. That’s a horror story there. Adults? Where are you?

Dude as long as they live in the school district or have a house in that district, nothing can be done. If these kids parents move to the district, then who cares.

The DSA and Principal sign off on these so they are aware of all transfer students and I am sure they make sure they are above board

Thought Tuscarora had a big football following? Watching the game and their stands were probably only 1/3 to 1/4 full and practically no student section at the Stone Bridge game. Are they demoralized by the assault scandal? Is it a form of protest? Is Stone Bridge not a rival worthy of attendance? Compare that to Centreville at the Westfield game. Their student section was packed - probably 10-20X the number of Tuscarora students. And the rest of the visitor stands were full - it was standing room only. The Centreville-Westfield game was an exciting and fun atmosphere. The Tuscarora-Stone Bridge game was dead by comparison. Other than listening to angry and drunk Stone Bridge parents abuse players, coaches and refs.

But Wildcats win when the stakes are at its highest. Playoffs! Ask Simmons which one he’d rather get.

It's a matter of perspective. Centreville was the favorite in all three of those playoff games. The fact that Westfield beat Centreville in the regular season in two of those three years is notable.

Can anyone explain how Annandale beat Mt. Vernon? That game shouldn't have even been close. Did the route 1 kids go total route 1, or what?

Absolutely correct. Centreville might have been a slightly better team in 2011 but Westfield was good enough that year to make it to the state final. In the regional final vs Centreville, Westfield ran out of time, Centreville blocked a last second FG try. Also, a questionable PI call that went against Westfield and a blown call on an incomplete pass directly contributed to 10 of Centreville's 27 points in a 27-24 win for Centreville. In short, almost everything that went right for Centreville that game.

The 2013 & 2014 Regional finals Centreville had probably the best public high school team this area has ever seen. Centreville beat Westfield 3 TD's in 2013, went on to crush a nationally ranked Oscar Smith team 35-6, and finish in the top 25 USA Today high school poll. In 2014 Regional final Westfield almost pulled off the upset, final was 21-17, two long TD runs by Turner, both in the 1st quarter, were the difference. Not to mention several dropped passes by Westfield receivers, one which would have been a TD in the 3rd quarter. So as the earlier poster stated, it's a matter of perspective, that and the fact that Westfield hasn't played Centreville in the post season since that 2014 game.

Forget perspective. Facts. Centreville has had a clearly better team than Westfield 2 times in 18 years - 2013 and 2014. 2001 and 2011 were pretty much even.

Perspective? Playoff wins more valuable cuz they end your season. Dummy.

1. Centreville (-3) @ Westfield
- Taking Centreville in a close one. Game of the year, no doubt about it. Centreville, on a bye week had extra time to prep. Back to back shut outs as well. 31 in a row for Westfield, it has to end sometime, and I think it'll end this Friday night.

- Man was I wrong or what? 21-0 Westfield. Props to Westfield, but Centreville beat themselves to a degree. 3 redzone possessions and 0 points...? Gotta have a better game plan, Haddock.

2. Chantilly (-24) @ Oakton
- Oakton should get some points in this one..

- Oakton scored, but Chantilly won and covered, 42-7. At least Oakton has a solid kicker.

3. Fairfax @ Lake Braddock (-21)

- LB won and covered, 41-13.

4. Falls Church (-13) @ Wakefield
- FC looking to make it 5 in a row. They'll be in for a rude awakening come playoff time.

- FC won and covered, 55-20. Enjoy the easy wins while they're around Aziz.

5. Hayfield (-24) @ West Potomac

- Hayfield won and covered, 53-13.

6. Langley (-6) @ Washington-Lee
- Really bad football here...

- Langley won and covered, 28-14.

7. Lee @ Marshall (-21)
- Another team in for a rude awakening in the playoffs.

- Marshall covered at the half, won 42-14.

8. Mount Vernon (-10) @ Annandale

- Big time upset in 3 OT's.. Annandale won 41-35. That makes it 2-0 for Annandale against Rt. 1 schools... You don't win games with 5 turnovers.

9. South County @ Robinson (-8)
- Co-Game of the week. This is an intriguing match-up to me. We'll see what happens.

- SoCo won 17-14. Close, physical game. Pannoni needed this one as well.

10. South Lakes (-20) @ McLean

- SL won and covered, 42-7.

11. Stuart (-24) @ Thomas Jefferson
- Stuart might lose 2 games, then lose by 40 in the 1st round of the playoffs.

- JEB won 36-14 and, to my surprise did not cover.

12. T.C. Williams (-21) @ Edison

- T.C. won and covered, 49-20.

13. Tuscarora @ Stone Bridge (-17)
- Tusky has given SB problems in the past, but they have their own problems to deal with within their own locker room.

- Tusky with the upset 24-14. Way to play through adversity and beat a heavily favored SB squad.

14. Woodson (-21) @ West Springfield

- Woodson won and covered, 51-13... 10 years ago the score would have been flipped favoring West Springfield...

15. Yorktown (-15) @ Herndon

- Yorktown won 14-7, and did not cover..

1. Annandale @ Hayfield (-17)
- Trap game for Hayfield... better play it safe - I think they will. The win streak ends for the Atoms.

2. Chantilly @ Centreville (-30)
- Wildcats come out pissed off and blast Chantilly.

3. Freedom - South Riding @ Stone Bridge (-40)
- Same situation here with SB.

4. Herndon (-7) @ Langley
- Toss-up... Herndon gets win #4

5. Lake Braddock (-30) @ West Springfield

6. Madison (-42) @ Oakton
- Is this game still dubbed the "Outback Bowl" or did Outback stop sponsoring the game due to Oakton being atrocious?

7. Marshall (-30) @ Edison

8. McLean @ Washington-Lee (-7)
- Someone gets their first win of the season! McLean has lost close to 20 in a row, so give me W&L in a close one...

9. Mount Vernon @ T.C. Williams (-7)
- Give me T.C. in an upset! MV.... if you have 3 turnovers, you will lose. TC has the athletes that Annandale lacks.

10. Northern Virginia Kings @ Thomas Jefferson (-7)
- TJ beat them last year, so...

11. Robinson @ Woodson (-9)
- Game of the week. Good test for Woodson against a physical Robinson team that has been struggling as of lately.

12. South County (-21) @ Fairfax

13. Stuart (-21) @ Wakefield

14. West Potomac @ Westfield (-28)

15. Yorktown (-10) @ South Lakes
- SL beat up on the weak teams in the district, I think Yorktown comes out ready to go on the road.

Roll with the Atoms in the upset again (I nailed last weeks)

Cats are discombobulated, missing FB. Will win but-14. Need someone else to step up and fill his role. If Haddock’s play calling is as bad as last weeks, expect a tighter game.

No hangover here, SB May ring up 70 just to feel good about themselves and rinse the stench of that loss off.

Contrast of styles. Can Robo off break WTW def? Or vice versa, which ever one breaks first wins.

Rebels stink. SoCo -21 by halftime.

Most likely everyone stays with Friday for several reasons: 1) it's turf-no rain issues; 2) playoffs are in 2 weeks and coaches hate interrupting their routines; 3) moving to Thursday affects FR/JV games and the regular season is coming to a close; 4) lost gate/concessions for weather on Friday reducing the crowd probably equates to playing on Thursday - a wash.

Westfield win streak had me looking at longest win streaks in VHSL history. According to the VHSL record book it is 45 games. But everywhere else the stories say Phoebus' win streak was 52 games. Was it 45 or 52?

Consecutive wins
45 Phoebus
40 Hampton
39 Central Senior
39 C.D. Hylton
38 Gretna
35 Hopewell
35 Hampton
34 Powell Valley
33 Radford
33 L.C. Bird
33 Salem
32 Granby
32 Clarke County
32 Appomattox County

First rule about the win streak, you don’t talk about the win streak.
Second rule about the win streak, see rule #1.

The 1978 Annandale team was the best ever public school team in NOVA. They were 14-0 and played when there were only 3 classifications, A, AA and AAA. I think they ended up ranked #1 in the nation that year.

52. Three straight 15-0 seasons from 2008-2010 and then seven wins to start the 2011 season.

Yep phoebus won 52 straight not 45... Insane. Dominated Stone Bridge 4 or 5 years straight. I think the 13-14 Centreville team would’ve beaten the Annandale Team from the 70’s. - 80’s.

Any further information on which have been rescheduled? All Met Sports is reporting that Annandale @ Hayfield and Chantilly @ Centreville are being played tonight, not tomorrow. I found on Madison's twitter feed that their game @ Oakton is being played tonight. I haven't found any others. Others that I looked at are SC @ Fairfax, Woodson @ Robinson and West Springfield @ LB which all look like they are still on for tomorrow night. I haven't looked at any others.

No hangover here! 28-0 end of first qtr! Chargers are abysmal. So much for Curry crowing about what a steal getting Rowley on his staff, Chargers still stink and look clueless and getting physically dominated on both sides of the ball.

Take note Bulldogs, won’t have same ref crew to bail you out when we meet in Regionals. Wildcat nation is back!

Would that be the same ref crew that called twice as many penalties on WF as they did on Centreville.

Don't worry Cats, in the playoffs WF will go shotgun formation and throw more than run since the mighty Cats had no answer to stop Kim and company.

What’s going on down at Woodbridge. Lots of infighting during game on sidelines, 3 straight losses. This time shut out by Hilton. Vikings may miss playoffs now. Maybe coach should’ve focused more on coaching and game planning than all these recruiting trips so much for #webuiltdifferent

They are now out of the playoff's, best finish will be 9 or 10. They are almost a full point behind #8 so no reasonable scenario will keep them in.

Westfield can run the ball. They just need to leave Asante on defense and use the guys they've got and get a rhythm going. Asante is obviously a tremendous athlete but 5 or 6 random carries a game isn't enough for anyone to find their groove. Especially when your rare appearance is pretty much a signal to all that you are getting the ball.

I could see Gar-field beating them. They beat Colgan. Woodbridge could easily end up losing their last 4 games. While loaded with studs. Only goes to show it is a team game. Rule of Thumb: if Rebel Run is promoting them they are going to underachieve.

Messin' w/ Haddock's head...

Madison didn't use either of the starting quarterbacks for their first two touchdown drives against Oakton...

And so the Rebel Run curse is born. Simmons don’t let that little guy with the camera and microphone near the building, have security boot his elf ass out.

Saying it’s a curse is giving them too much cred, I’d start off smaller, like the lil’fella, go with jinx.

That’s really not saying much, it’s Oakton. WHS JV outscored their varsity 21-0.
