There are quite a few. Actually, except for a few core coaches Westfield has had a fair amount of turnover in coaches. Part of what makes Simmons such a good coach is he knows how to manage the entire program and staff making it an environment that is attractive for coaches. They aren't getting paid there anymore than anywhere else (in other words very little). This recurring obsession about the Westfield coaching staff is odd.

Everyone knows that Braddock has the best coaching staff in the state!

Just for that, when you have to make your trip back down to Woodbridge in the playoffs, I’ll meet you and your staff at the buses. Dummy must’ve already forgot about that ass whooping we gave you all last year. #webuiltdifferent

Simmons record is outlandish. Which coaches have beat him? Since it is not greater than 10 it should be easy. I say, coaches, as many have moved around...for example, the Fairfax guy from SL, Pannoni has had several schools etc...thanks if you can answer

There have been MANY top programs that have set up their asst coaches with sweet side deals for coaching various summer training programs and camps. With ALL the $$$ in Northern VA I would think that those kind of side deals are more likely than not!!!

This isn't the old Braddock teams, with no discipline and the players and coaches running wild.

This is the new and improved Bruins, with Class, Toughness, Discipline and Significance, we will be ready for Woodbridge Westfield or whoever we play in the playoffs.

You better be ready if you come to the Bruins house to play.

Bruin Nation rules!

Let's be honest, Robinson is not a good program. Coaching is bad. They run an outdated offense and can't seem to understand that. The 80's ended a long time ago. They have no idea how to coach defensive backs. Cannot evaluate talent. Anyone close to the program will tell you their best qb is their backup, they have kids in the secondary who have no business being out there. Ther is no reason a school that size, with the natural athletes they have aren't any better than they are.

The only saving grace is how bad most coaching in the county is. They win and run the score up against poorly coached teams at failing schools, and get beat by schools with minimally good coaching. So all of you LB people who want to beat your chest over this win, beat a good team, or even a decent team, and get back with us.

Your either drunk or suffer from CTE or have PTSD or a combo of all 3. Clearly you’ve forgotten about the Westfield beat down to kickoff the season or the 70-3 debacle at Stone Bridge.

Don’t think Tre Taylor beat him before. Off the top of my head, Lalli. Rowley or that Oakton coach before him. Pannoni. Mickey Thompson. Briar Woods Coach. Jim Poythrese. Haddock.

He's lost to Stone Bridge, South County, Briar Woods, Centerville, Lake Braddock and Oakton (yes, Oakton). Multiple losses to Centerville and Lake Braddock.

Haddock @ Centreville has beaten Simmons 4 times. (Simmons is 6-4 v. Haddock)
Poythress @ Lake Braddock 2 times (Simmons was 6-2 v. Poythress)
Rowley @ Oakton 1 time (Simmons was 7-1 v. Rowley)
Pannoni @ South County 1 (Simmons is 7-1 v. Pannoni)
Thompson @ Stone Bridge 1 (Simmons is 3-1 v. Thompson)
Pierce @ Briar Woods 1 (Simmons was 1-1 v. Pierce)

That's it.

Common theme across the above losses we're that each of those teams which beat Westfield we're power run first with balanced passing games along with top notch Defenses. In other words, run, run and run again. Keep the Westfield Offense sitting on the bench for long stretches!

Good job Mdison!!! Y'all should get another shot at the Bulldogs in November!!!

Wasn't sure you were using my post to make a point or condemning me for my comments. I've followed/watched WF football now for going on 14 seasons. I'm a fan, don't get me wrong, but if you didn't think WF was out coached then you weren't watching the same game.

Madison brought pressure on D every play, WF spent far too much time with Kim under center, running play action, only for him to turn around after his drop back and realize he had to scramble for his life. WF kept trying to run the FB, he's not a power runner, maybe against the LB's, SOCO's, WS's, & SJ's of high school football but not good teams. WF also had too many offensive formations with just 1 or 2 WR's, doesn't help combating Madison's pressure defense. Maybe spread the D out so Kim isn't constantly running for his life. The 2pt conversation by Madison totally caught WF off guard, kid standing out at WR all by himself and nobody covers him. Yep, that's all coaching, so once again, in my opinion, they were out coached.

Look, I get it, Simmons doesn't care about regular season, he's in it for the championships, even said so in the pre-season. He mentioned how he has the script written for what his team will do when they get there, he's focused, I get it. But you're not getting there by having your QB get injured because you didn't make adjustments to offset the opponents blitzes.

WF does not have an offensive line as they have in the past, so why not counter that with play calling. That's not showing anyone anything that what they don't already know, WF's weakness is the O-line. Yes, I do thing WF has a no huddle hurry-up offense, but to use it in the regular season doesn't give anything away, once again, it's all about protecting Kim. Because if WF loses their QB, then they will not go anywhere in the post-season, that's pretty much a fact.

By the way, anyone else notice how somber the WF sideline was all game long. The Madison players were pumped, cheering, jumping around, WF's sideline, not so much, looked like they thought they were all in church.

Good job for what? If you saw the game Warhawks could not consistently run and move the ball down the field by power running. No team has so far this year. It’s obvious you want WHS to get knocked off but please have some intelligence behind what you’re saying. Centreville Oline is small and will not be able to put together long sustained drives of 10 plays or more, they haven’t done that all season.

Like I said, WF will play better than they played on Friday. Madison Won't. And Madison lost. So an outplayed, 'outcoached' WF team still won over a team playing their absolute best. That's what WF knows about this game. Simmons is going to ride his team, especially BOTH lines, about how crappy they looked. But he knows Madison threw everything they had at them and still couldn't pull it off. The Centreville game will determine who is king of Concorde. And if WF plays like they did Friday, it will be a long night for the Bulldogs. But what we know is the king of Concorde isn't Madison.

Lucky for the bulldogs, they have my lowly Oakton cougars to brush up on this Friday. Add in a home game and Homecoming for WF and it's going to be ugly for my beloved Cougars.

Not really, WF's D has always been their strong suit, just recently with the emrgence of Kim has the O become so explosive. Sure, there are games that WF's D gave up yards and points, but they were pretty much all regular season wins.

Three of the losses to Haddock were against probably one of the best public high schools teams I've ever seen. That was over a course of a two year stretch. The other loss, also post season, could have gone either way.

Poythress's victories came in the regular season, both of those LB teams he had were very good. But in each of those two seasons, Simmons met and beat Poythress in the playoffs.

Rowley's lone victory came in Simmons first season in what was the old Regional title came. WF came in 12-0, Oakton had some of their top players go both ways in that game, their starting QB, I think Downer, played safety in the game. It was a brilliant job of coaching on Rowley's part, probably the last time Oakton had a good team.

Pannoni's only win was regular season, the first game WF played after the famous "red cup" party when they had 6 starters suspended. SOCO barely won the game, they met again for the Region title, WF crushed SOCO.

Thompson's lone victory was an ass whooping, that was the game where WF had no answers to stop SB's power running game. That game was played during WF's second title run regular season. Would have been interesting if both teams played in the same class, not so sure the post-season rematch would have turned out the same.

Pierce's lone victory came the week after SB put the beat down on WF. If I remember WF lost by one point, in double overtime, at BW. Simmons decided to go for 2 after scoring, if they were successful game was over. The RB for WF had a hole but tripped over an O-lineman's foot. Not an excuse, just merely stating a fact.

So, not being a homer, but a previous poster stated Madison gave it their best shot, he was correct. Anyone who thinks WF did the same just hasn't watched WF football. As previously stated, regular season wins against WF are for nothing more than bragging rights for that particular team/school/fan base. Simmons has proven, since becoming HC of WF, that all he cares about is what his teams play like in the post-season. In other words, you're insane if you think that was WF's best this past Friday night.

Didn't notice that because you are wrong. Don't know what game you were watching but that is a gross characterization.

Dude, lay off the caffeine, did you not see any of my previous posts, I'm a WF fan. I agree with you on most of what you've said. I just think Madison, coaches & players, wanted the game more the other night, that's all. I get why too, like I said, a W against WF is bragging rights, especially given their current 3-peat and current 30 game win streak.

Not at all, and I wasn't the only one who noticed it. Toward the end of the game when Madison had the momentum the WF sideline was silent, well, at least the players were. So I guess I should have phrased that better, WF's players were whom I was speaking about.

Madison plays with emotion every game, celebrating each others' successes on the field.

Westfield is a corporation...they're checking off the list from the business plan. That works fine until someone starts messin' with you and things don't go according to plan.

That O-Line is a Achilles heel for Westfield...they may win out the conference, but other teams will notice what Madison was doing to them on defense...and a 4-peat is nowhere near automatic.

I don’t think (even WF supporters) anyone thinks 4-peat is an automatic thing. Some serious threats from Wildcats, Warhawks, Vikings come playoff time in the north and OS and Clifton from the south. Pretty wide open but highly entertaining. Can’t wait for Woodbridge to face some good teams (not the chicken shut Bruins who will be scared to get off the bus) like Wildcats or Warhawks.

"Pierce's lone victory came the week after SB put the beat down on WF. If I remember WF lost by one point, in double overtime, at BW. Simmons decided to go for 2 after scoring, if they were successful game was over. The RB for WF had a hole but tripped over an O-lineman's foot. Not an excuse, just merely stating a fact."

Not an excuse? That is EXACTLY what you did.

WHEN Westfield loses, you will do the same thing. It will be an injury or a bad call or a runaway blade of grass.

They have been great. They are a great program. This year - not so great. They may still win, but for the love of God, man, at least try and be objective and not make excuses.

Are you sore cause you're a BW fan who's tired of losing, possibly a SB fan tired of losing in states, or maybe a WF conference foe just upset about just plain losing to WF. I remember that game, hole was so wide a semi could have traveled through. The guy was stating a fact, o-lineman stepped on the RB's foot and he fell, game over. BW won, it's in the past, the poster was just simply covering the wins and losses of each program against WF. Take a chill pill.....

Oh my God - now I know why everyone hates you Westfield knob gobblers. One guy talks about a play three years ago how someone tripped and fell and that is why they lost, and another closet pole smoking dad comes to his defense and tries to belittle the guy who correctly pointed out that the first ass muncher was, indeed, making a weak ass excuse. I didn't hate Westfield until stumbling upon this website. By the way... if an o-lineman stepped on the running back's foot, that is part of the play. Duh. Now go ahead and take your hands off of each other's cocks long enough to respond type and respond to this.

Or, do what you normally do and type with one hand while stroking one another.

LB at Woodson coming this Friday!

I am not sure Woodson knows what they are getting into.
Doc and staff are on a roll and have the team fired up.
These boys haven't given up any points in the past few weeks.

I guess Woodson will get a chance to see what the best staff in the state is all about, when the Bruin train comes rolling thru.

Commitment Toughness Discipline and Significance is what this team is about and Woodson is about to learn it the hard way

What is the level of participation in JV and Freshman football this year? Is that trending downhill also?

As a Westfield fan I can only speak for them as I don’t know much on this matter. JV participation is kind of pointless to measure cause a lot of schools have players on both the JV and Varsity roster. Some start JV and a few weeks later get significant play time on varsity. Freshmen on the other hand is different. It’s a good indicator of the future of the program. This years freshmen team has slightly better numbers than recent years and I think it is in part due to Westfield finally rising in enrollment again and also in part to the programs reputation.

WF lost about half of the players from last year's Freshmen team (i.e., they didn't try out for JV or Varsity after playing Freshmen last year). The JV team is probably 50 players. The Freshmen team had about 90 last year. Don't know about Oakton.

Last year’s FR team had nowhere near 90 kids, maybe half that. This year was slightly up from last year, close to 60.

Wildcats FR team has about 35 kids. Other problem is Fr team doesn’t run same offense as JV or Varsity and has kids out of position. Kids & parents not happy with the way this season is going. How does the coach put best RB and make him a center. JV & Varsity numbers down slightly more due to the dissatisfaction with the coaching staff. A lot of favoritism going on over there. Some kid who went to PVI comes in and gets a spot on varsity right away cuz his older brother is on there and daddy probably strokes a fat booster check.

IMO, the relative "threat" level of the teams you mentioned that will potentially pose obstacles to a WF playoff run, plus one more that nobody thinks about:

Centreville: C+
Madison: B
Woodbridge: A
Oscar Smith: A
Colonial Forge (not Clifton): B+
Freedom (PW): C+
Manchester: A- (only because they don't play a really strong schedule, but they are loaded this year-flying under the radar with the casual fan here in NOVA).

1. Annandale @ Marshall (-9)

- Marshall won by 3, 18-15.

2. Briar Woods @ Stone Bridge (-35)
- How about a shutout Mickey?

- SB won and covered, 49-6.

3. Edison @ Stuart (-6)
- Looking for Stuart to get back on track with their Homecoming game.

- Stuart won and covered, 27-3.

4. Hayfield (-18) @ Mount Vernon
- MV's first real opponent. Maybe an ugly one.

- Hayfield won 34-18. It was an ugly one, but in a different sense.

5. Herndon (-6) @ Washington-Lee
- 0-10 or 1-9 for the Generals? Highly possible.

- Herndon won and covered, 27-19.

6. Lee @ Falls Church (-10)
- I'm thinking 3 in a row for the Jags.

- Falls Church won and covered, 46-34.

7. National Collegiate (DC) (-20) @ Wakefield
- Why the hell is Wakefield playing these guys?

- To answer my own question, Wakefield played them because they can beat them, ha. Wakefield victorious, 34-28.

8. McLean @ Yorktown (-20)

- Yorktown won and covered, 42-14.

9. Oakton @ Centreville (-40)
- Oakton has 7 total points so far this season. Wow.

- Centreville won and covered, 56-0. Still 7 points for Oakton..

10. Robinson @ Lake Braddock (-8)
- Co-game of the week. LB has had recent success against Robinson but I think it can go either way. My heart says Robinson, my head says LB...

- LB blanked Robinson 38-0. Wow.

11. South County @ Woodson (-3)
- Give me Woodson in an intriguing Homecoming upset!

- Woodson won and covered, 18-7. Are the Cavs for real?

12. South Lakes (-9) @ Langley

- South Lakes won, but did not cover. 34-28.

13. T.C. Williams @ West Potomac (-10)

- T.C. over WP 35-13. Good win for the Titans, who are looking to get back on track.

14. Thomas Jefferson @ John Paul The Great (-10)
- Schedule TJ against Oakton, McLean, W&L, etc. next season..

- JPTG won 48-6. Game was closer than the final score says.

15. West Springfield (-7) @ Fairfax

- WS won, but did not cover. 26-21.

16. Westfield (-7) @ Madison
- Game of the week, no doubt. Westfield looking for their 30th straight win and I think they will come in extremely prepared and come away with a close win in a dog fight.

- Definitely was a dog fight. Westfield 17-15. Did not attend the game but have been reading about it on here. Centreville & Westfield is easily going to be the game of the year.

2. Fairfax @ Robinson (-9)

3. Herndon (-9) @ McLean

4. Lake Braddock (-15) @ Woodson
- Game of the week. LB has had 3 straight shut-outs. The LB coach is also going back to his old stomping grounds. Intriguing match-up for sure.

5. Langley @ Yorktown (-28)

6. Madison (-25) @ Chantilly
- Lets see how the much fight the Chargers put up.

7. Marshall (-20) @ George Mason
- Mason has lost to a few small schools from the mountains. Give me Marshall by 21 at least.

8. Oakton @ Westfield (-40)

9. Paul Charter (DC) (-28) @ Thomas Jefferson
- Who?

10. Stone Bridge (-40) @ Rock Ridge

11. Stuart @ Mount Vernon (-10)
- MV comes out pissed after their first loss and takes it out on Stuart in front of the Homecoming crowd.

12. T.C. Williams @ Hayfield (-17)
- Co-Game of the week. Historic rivalry. Remember The Titans? Should be a lot of points in this one.

13. Wakefield @ Lee (-6)

14. Washington-Lee @ South Lakes (-10)

15. West Potomac (-10) @ Annandale

16. West Springfield @ South County (-7)
- SoCo is 2-4. Wow, what a fall off. Is Pannoni on the hot seat yet? Must win for the Stallions.

Last year the Warhawks took their frustration at losing a close one to Westfield out on the Chargers...it was 49-0 at halftime. Chargers are better, Warhawks more pissed off...but, it is in Chantilly...let's see if their regional champion cheerleading team can add some spirit to the Chargers effort.

SOCO is done but so are Spartans. Yes Pannoni has lost this team. He makes the worst special teams gaffes every year costing the teams games. What was that thing with the punt sposed to be? Fooled no one and gave 6pts to Cavs

I’m not an advocate for firing pple but Pannoni is an arrogant jerk for someone who hasn’t won jackswuat. My 2 boys played there and my youngest will be there soon but may look elsewhere. His teams are undisciplined, selfish, arrogant, and entitled which does not make for winning teams or locker rooms. One son was there whole a fight broke out after a tough game and kid with the behavior issues was not properly reported or reprimanded. He was a “star” player but reallly was a malcontent and played for himself. Dozens of such examples over the years. But back to his special teams gaffes, last year we should’ve knocked off Bulldogs but his stupid alignment on punt formation allowed for a block and return for tdpretty much the difference in that ball game but to make things even better we took Bulldogs to OT and we scored first and instead of acting like a coach and having some composure he and his immature assistants chose to celebrate instead of focusing on making sure we had 11 kids for PAT, we didn’t and #2 I think blocks the PAT (where we were short a player) and you know the rest. Bulldogs score make PAT and win game and go on to win States for 3rd time while we are crushed and lose games we shouldn’t because our season was so built up over this one game. So yes time for a change. Way too many talented kids in this area to not be coached properly and be more competitive and win and play in late Nov and Dec.

LB will beat Woodson by 20!
Not sure why this would be the game of the week, when LB is favored by 15
There is a reason Doc left Woodson, better program, better players, better facilities.

Doc and staff have made LB football better then they ever were previously, come out and you will see for yourself

Does new principal know your concerns? Maybe he would agree that GP needs to move on. Many complaints about Pannoni here but that won't change anything. Call Principal as they have no AD. Principal played football. New AD probably will be a non player and a rookie.

That is one downside of taking a lot of transfers/recruits. It can mess with team chemistry and cohesion. You got a bunch of kids that grow up playing together and all of a sudden your coach is bringing in ringers to take your spot.

Pretty fair stuff. Calpreps has Manchester and Colonial Forge (also loaded) both over Westfield. Of course, we all know the games are won and lost on the field. Just interesting.

From your list above, both Manchester and Colonial Forge are under rated. MaxPreps has Manchester as #1 in Class 6. They've recruited top players from virtually EVERY top team in Richmond and may have the #1 QB in the State... Colonial Forge has recruited the best QB in their area as well and they'll clash with Manchester for the 6B Crown. If O. Smith gets back to their week 1 full strength, they may still be underdogs vs Manchester!!!

It's looking like the 6 South Team should be considered the favorite in Hampton on December 8th.

Massaponnex destroyed these two highly regarded teams ...#2066 North Stafford (Stafford, VA) (44-7), #2086 Woodgrove (Purcellville, VA) (27-6).

Colonial Forge just smacked Massaponnex 35-0!

Be afraid... be very afraid.

Stone Bridge will be 9-0 once again when they travel to take on Broad Run the last week of the season.
Broad Run's only loss (forfeit) will be to a team they beat 31-0.
That, my friends, is the best match-up in all of Northern Virginia this year.

Manchester plays basically the Wakefield’s, Edison’s & Lee’s of the RVA area. Those teams might be even worse than the bad teams up here. We’ll see what happens some playoff time. Don’t know who Forge plays

Stone Bridge is just lucky that they don't have to go through Coach Doc and Company come playoff time.

The regular season is one thing, but Doc would have some tricks up his
sleeve and turn the tables on Mickey.

The boys have responded to his tough love and are shutting out everyone.

The Boys from Ashburn would have trouble reaching 7, never mind 70, in a rematch.

Broad Run? Doc's Boys would taken them out to the woodshed and win 70-3.

Doc and staff won 11 games in 3 years at Woodson. Woodson will win at least that many this year alone. Give me the Cavs by 7 in this grueling, fight-to-the-death battle.

You don't know anything about football outside the Northern VA area. Manchester is like every other school. They have to play the teams on their schedule. Monocan & L.C. Bird can complete well against any other team through out Virginia but you didn't seem to analyze them.

The ONLY issue with Manchester is that they, like Woodbridge really haven't been tested at the Championship level. Colonial Forge really hasn't either but at least their Coach has with his former team, Hylton.

Bottom line, I don't see a 4 peat for Westfield. OS has built a power run game that has when some key players come back will be able to exploit the weakness that Madison utilized. Those teams which ALL beat the Bulldogs beat them with their running.Manchester is more like the 2015 Westfield team.

Get your head checked. Cavs haven’t seen anything like the bruins since this week last year. Woodson could barely hang with SLakes and couldn’t finish against a weak SoCo defense. Going to be a rude awakening for them... will be a bloodbath. I’ll take the bruins by 28 in this shutout.

Everyone in the region knows Doc and staff are the best in the state. No way they get surprised by Woodson!

Woodson's defense will not be able to handle this high power offense and the Woodson offense will not be able to move the ball against this totally dominating defense

This LB team will be prepared and will dominate Woodson from the start.

42-0 the Bruins continue the shutout grove.

It’s programs like SB that are killing football at the high school level. Dirty recruiting and loose standards for transfer? Who cares if they win when they’re built like they are? Stomp every team around, it’s not good solid football when your team is created like that one is there. Neighborhood schools with good coaches is what makes HS football fun for all. SB will come down under investigation and all will be over. Men there have lost track of what’s important in the big picture. What are you teaching your boys, SB?

This is petty. I have yet to see any totally svelt coaches on the sidelines at any high school game this season. This petty talk shows that you have nothing better to say as you try cut down LB. There are plenty of extremely fit coaches at Braddock and plenty of teams with less fit staff members than ours. You can stop taking cheap shots. Your mom said get off the internet and go to bed!

Westfield doesn't pass the smell test. Common sense indicates that the better head coaches and top coordinators don't stay at this program unless they are getting a sweet side deal. The various summer camps, training programs, etc are usually utilized to both recruit talent AND line the pockets of the various coaches that are loyal to their success!

Yes, I think MAD is above CV. CV has been crushing teams but they are (generally speaking) not very strong teams. I have not seen them play but I don't think they can score that much against a decent defense, like MAD or WF.

Perhaps I have underrated MAN and CF, but as another poster alluded to, the football in RVA is not quite as good as NOVA. Sure, an excellent team from RVA comes around every now and then and does very well in the playoffs, but for now I say MAN is very good but still unproven until they beat a state-wide top tier team. For CF, they have been beating teams by appropriate margins given the relative talent levels (except PAT, but that was the first game of the year) but the only decent team they have played is PONAX, and they did beat them soundly so perhaps they are rounding into playoff form.

BTW-I would not put a lot of stock in the national rating systems. Fun to look at as a general guide, but IMO VHSL Reference is probably the best for our local teams (despite its heavy reliance on past performance). And has been mentioned on here before, WF has great coaching and a knack for taking very good players and molding a team that outperforms a team with a bunch of D1 recruits.

I could go over this coach by coach for the last 8 years but it would be a waste of finger muscle to type it out. You simply don't know what you are talking about. And I guess they should hold some training on HOW to recruit because if that's what they are doing, they are doing a damn poor job of it. Westfield doesn't have a single transfer on their roster. Not one. Their last two state championship teams didn't have a single player take the field in the championship game that wasn't on their freshman football team.

For the past 3years it’s WF’s not that good, they can’t do this they can’t do that, CVHS has this CVHS has that, OS has built this up, OS QB is D1, OS has 50 D1 kids this year, Woodbridge is new “it” team they have all the athletes with dozen 5-star recruits. WF quietly wins 3 state championships and still all anyone wants to talk about is Colonial Forge, Manchester OS Woodbridge and how CVHS is back this year, umm how about WF hasn’t gone anywhere. Nothing lasts forever so that's not a bold prediction. We all know Westfield has not been a DOMINANT football team the last 2 years. They only need to be better than the team they are playing on game day. Most people in NOVA do not appreciate how good their QB is. 21-0 as a starter. Better than the Glennon's. He will hold every Westfield passing record of interest by the time he graduates. As long as he is playing Westfield has a shot against anyone.

Coaches, you yourself care a great deal about WF since it seems they are in nearly every one of your posts. You also suggest to follow the money. Well, I am asking you to do what you tell others to do. Show us where WF is breaking rules, putting $$ under the table to assistant coaches and recruits. Oh yeah, if it was happening it would have come out by now!

But since you can't find anything, and your team keeps losing to WF, and you hate that they are a model of success despite having less than awesome talent year after year, you have to make accusations without any foundation.

Instead of being critical of other programs who are successful why don't you enable your local HS to improve their own programs. See what is working and mirror those ideas. Who knows, maybe things will turn around for your team. Either way, back up your statements with facts instead of the drivel you have so far supplied.

Under different coaches and with different levels of talent WF, CV and other schools have shown success over the long run. Demographics and student population aside, certain programs maintain a high level of success due to coaching and the environment of the program.

But my guess is, you will continue with your pathetic whining blathering accusations without any supporting evidence to back it up.

Pretty obvious you are someone from the Concorde and I have to go with Chantilly, all this “cheating” by WF didn’t come up until Curry came into the division. So I think it’s Curry or one of his assistants (Rowley), mad cuz they want out and join WF staff but they don’t want or need them. Good coach or not, just about every 6A north coaching staff reads this stuff, and is sick of hearing the Doc best coach in the state crap. You could count wins, playoff wins, or rings, and doc wouldn't be anywhere close to Mickey or Simmons or a number of other southern coaches (5A or 6A). This. I don't understand how the administration and coaching staff at SB can walk across the field, look some of these teams in the eye and shake their hand when they have literally pillaged the team of their players. It's a disgrace and I can't believe LCPS allows this to just keep going on year after year. They should be ashamed but instead they seem proud of it.

You should not criticize individuals on this board about their lack of knowledge of football to then make a foolish statement as you did. In case you aren't aware, OS has had a power running game the past 3 years they LOST to Westfield in the state championship. Yes, OS had a great QB the first two title runs but make no mistake, they could run the ball.

I'm not sure if you watched the Madison vs. Westfield game but it's not like Madison gashed the Bulldogs. They had one long TD run, other than that WF did a decent job on D controlling the run game.

Other than Stone Bridge & Briar Woods in 2016, then Haddock's Centreville teams in 2013-2014, who were loaded with D1 players, I don't remember a time under Simmons that any opponents gashed WF's defense. As a matter of fact the SB game in 2016, and the regular & post season games against CVHS in 2013 were the only 3 games that come to mind of WF's run D being exploited. If you remember correctly the CVHS team of 2013 also gashed OS in the state title game even though OS had the Gatorade player of the year.

I think there have been a good deal of misinformed individuals on this board ranting about how power running teams can expose WF's weak D and end the Bulldogs winning streak and title run. The only problem is other than the 3 games mentioned above, in WF's previous 3 title runs, there just isn't any proof to substantiate these claims, plain and simple.

Look, do I think WF is going to win title #4 this year, don't know, they have as good a chance as anyone. They currently have won what, 30 consecutive games, so obviously their coaches are pretty good. WF's O & D lines may not be as strong as in the past but I don't think there's a coaching staff in the state that can scheme better than WF's to account for their weaknesses come the post season. I also know since Simmons took charge this is the most explosive offense he's had, that might be of use should someone actually exposes his D.

Come on man, what have you been drinking, WF's #20 is good against the likes of LB, SOCO, SJ, WS, & Patriot, but the first quality team WF faced this year against Madison he was not good at all. Stuffed pretty much every time he ran the ball and he is horrible at blocking. On the 4th & 2 on WF's first drive he lined up at TE and they ran behind him, he didn't block anyone and the RB for WF was stuffed for no gain. Please, put your homer glasses away, must be his dad!

Don't be sucked in by Woodson's stunning undefeated record (6-0). The combined record of its opponents is 12-25 (0.324 winning percentage). Woodson hasn't played anybody. Three wins against one-win teams (Annandale, Langley, Lee). The Cavaliers' winning record is paper thin.

The combined record of LB's opponents is 21-15 (0.583). Let them facts marinate on you.

Take out Westfield and Stonebridge because LB got hammered by both. Stonebridge was the worse loss in LB football history 70-3. Shameful!!!

They beat Yorktown 3-3 Oakton 0-6 Robinson 4-2 West Potomac 2-4.Is that really impressive?

The fact of the matter is that LB use to beat Woodson by 50 and were never even an after thought. This is how far LB football has fallen, trash talking about beating Woodson, that's joke.

Marinate on that.

LB alum and current AP Brett Garner named DSA. What does this mean for SOCO football assuming Pannoni leaves.

If Gardener has any sense he cleans house at SC. Then he should hire Poythress. Not sure he would do it but there must be a connection. SC always had more talent than LB but LB dominated them for years. A few posts ago it was mentioned that Poythress gave Simmons fits. With more talent SC might be a 5 peater

Tuscarora HS Football player raped during hazing incident! Oct 1 other players held down the student while various objects were inserted!!!

Y'all complain about SB, but Tuscarora needs to have their football program shut down. The coaches Ad should be fired immediately!!! Erase all symbols of football from the school. That's right, tear down the goal posts and repaint the field for a soccer pitch. Prosecute the players as adults!!!!

Must be a Loudoun thing. Didn't some Briar Woods players get busted doing something similar a few years ago?

Football will be an after thought for Garner. He will clean house and hire someone like a Doc, someone who tells everyone what they want to hear and everyone gets a participation trophy. Football will become insignificant under Garner.

He is a baseball guy and will most likely hire the old LB baseball coach to run that program.

He is a really nice guy, but sorry to say football isn't his thing
