Wasn't sure you were using my post to make a point or condemning me for my comments. I've followed/watched WF football now for going on 14 seasons. I'm a fan, don't get me wrong, but if you didn't think WF was out coached then you weren't watching the same game.
Madison brought pressure on D every play, WF spent far too much time with Kim under center, running play action, only for him to turn around after his drop back and realize he had to scramble for his life. WF kept trying to run the FB, he's not a power runner, maybe against the LB's, SOCO's, WS's, & SJ's of high school football but not good teams. WF also had too many offensive formations with just 1 or 2 WR's, doesn't help combating Madison's pressure defense. Maybe spread the D out so Kim isn't constantly running for his life. The 2pt conversation by Madison totally caught WF off guard, kid standing out at WR all by himself and nobody covers him. Yep, that's all coaching, so once again, in my opinion, they were out coached.
Look, I get it, Simmons doesn't care about regular season, he's in it for the championships, even said so in the pre-season. He mentioned how he has the script written for what his team will do when they get there, he's focused, I get it. But you're not getting there by having your QB get injured because you didn't make adjustments to offset the opponents blitzes.
WF does not have an offensive line as they have in the past, so why not counter that with play calling. That's not showing anyone anything that what they don't already know, WF's weakness is the O-line. Yes, I do thing WF has a no huddle hurry-up offense, but to use it in the regular season doesn't give anything away, once again, it's all about protecting Kim. Because if WF loses their QB, then they will not go anywhere in the post-season, that's pretty much a fact.
By the way, anyone else notice how somber the WF sideline was all game long. The Madison players were pumped, cheering, jumping around, WF's sideline, not so much, looked like they thought they were all in church.
