Westfield should start the investigation process now. Stonebridge takes down the state champs Westfield and leaves them crying. Loudoun Co doesn’t care where you go to school plus their #3 played in FCPS last year. Recruitment all over the place and ineligible players all over the field. Call on your investigators now so their season is DQed and Westfield can stay on top.

Otherwise, get ready Westfield because SB is taking over now.

What does Stone Bridge have to do with Westfield? They are not even in the same class. 99% you are just a troll but this is pretty weak. And stupid.

So I herd LB's UVA commit linebacker Ahern did not play against Stone Bridge. That's probably worth about 3 TDs right there.

This is probably the dumbest thing I've seen on here lately. Stone Bridge does not play Westfield, one is 5A, the other is 6A, Stone Bridge recruits, Westfield does not.

About the only similarities is they're both Bulldogs, they opened the same year I think, probably similar in overall wins, conference and region titles. The real difference is Thompson plays for state championship appearances, Simmons plays for titles!

Fact. And I’m not even a Westfield guy. They should still play annually. Which coach decided against it for this current 2 year cycle?

Falls Church is disappointing. Expected them to make a jump this year. What’s going on? They should’ve been more competitive against a very avg SL team. Then got boat races by Majors.

I don't see why we don't have some other system for assigning schools. Loudoun is already messed by having so many little schools by trying to create the cluster environment - which no longer works they way they intended.

All of these schools in such close proximity dilutes the available pool for sports and activities.

For example the opening of Rock Ridge took away from Briar Woods - now both of their football teams suck! Rock Ridge has an amazing Drama program and Marching Band - other schools not so much. Another new high school opens next year close to both Rock Ridge and Briar - how will all 3 schools have a large enough or diverse enough pool to field all the teams, arts and activities - chances are they will all be mediocre with little chance to improve.

Neighborhood schools no longer work in a county our size, as such someone who wants to pursue Drama or Band should have the ability to go to Rock Ridge where they will succeed and have a chance at their future goals.

A football player at Rock Ridge with real talent and potential - of which there are several on the team, should be allowed to play at a school where their talent and experience can be cultivated and could earn them a scholarship.

How about true educational differences - I thought the schools were the same, but they are not there are different programs at different school and if you aren't there or don't know what to look for then you won't know that a different school would be a better fit.

It should not longer matter what street your parents bought your house on - especially if it was before 3 schools were ever even built! It should matter when the student can get the most out of their high school experience, to grow and be ready for the next stage - no matter if that is for sports, arts, clubs or academics.

The current set up no longer works and its no wonder people are moving and transferring - reminder moving for real is not an issue - people may not like but it is valid.

Instead of whining about the transfers etc - a new method needs to be put in place - why on earth is it assumed the best school for a kid is the one built when the kid was in 6th grade, and 15 years after the parents bought the house - that make no sense at all, if the main goal of everyone is truly successful and happy kids! Many of whom are committing suicide because they are forced to be somewhere they do not belong!

I am sorry but you are the one that is not making any sense. Neighborhood schools work just fine. What you are suggesting is pretty much anarchy. Anyone should be allowed to go to whatever school they want. They sounds fine in theory but for organizational and planning purposes that sounds like total chaos.

An aside: as a parent I want successful and happy kids sure - but being in difficult situations is a great way for kids to learn about what life is really like.

Stone Bridge - Madison. Hope Warhawks can make this competitive and not embarrass FAirfax Co football the way Lake Braddock did last week. If it’s a blow out by SB, safe to say LOCO football is far superior than FCPS.

Not that JV games are a complete indication, but last night's game was a barnburner down to the last three minutes w/ Stone Bridge holding on for 32-27 win following a late touchdown then Madison went out on downs on their side of the field.

Both schools play really hard...and there is no love lost between the two, whatever the score.

Stone Bridge is hardly a representation of the quality of football in the entirety of Loudoun County. They are a highly recruited super team, an anomaly. Your statement reeks of stupidity considering that there are any number of pathetically terrible football programs in Loudoun. In fact, Loudoun County boasts one of the few football programs in the entire state that has cancelled their season due to lack of interest. I don't think you would argue that it is safe to say that that proves LoCo football is far inferior to FCPS.

No more support for Stonebridge. Recruiting and building a powerhouse team that kills other programs and beats every team they play? And for what? No more football anywhere. This is coming and fast. I guess they didn’t think about that.

I’m pulling my support for Stonebridge. I’ll stick with men like Coach Doc at Lake Braddock. He’s a real coach for life and for football.

Name 1 FXCO team that can beat SB? & don’t give me that crap about WHS. sB destroyed WHS last time they played (WHS team had a lot more talent & size than this current team). Maybe Robinson could make it a 5td game. Not CVHS, see LB score.

If your argument is that SB is the top team in NOVA that is probably correct as of today. However, that was NOT your statement or argument. Your statement was that this would prove that LoCo football is far superior to FCPS football. No doubt you are a LoCo school product and are unable to realize that is a non sequitur.

I’d say BR and Tusky are both better than any FXCO Hs team.

First who the hell cares three weeks into the season who’s the best team in NOVA. Second, you’re talking about a SB-WHS game that took place TWO years ago, who the hell cares. Third, to compare SB to any team in FFX County is impossible since none of the schools recruit as heavily as SB. Westfield certainly doesn’t at all, not Simmons style, he’d rather out coach his opponents than try to cheat. Probably why he’s won 3 consecutive titles and your almighty SB team led by Thompson has lost two in a row then was upset last year in the region championship. But if having the best regular season team makes you happy than so be it. Oh, and one last thing, this is Fairfax Underground, not Loudoun, we don’t care about LOCO football.

Watched many a Stone Bridge and Westfield game in person over the years including quite a few between the two. The number one thing i learned is that Stone Bridge has peaked by week 2 or 3. Westfield keeps getting better and better all season and even in he playoffs. Simmons is experimenting early and plays a very deep bench. Does not run up scores and give all his kids a chance to play. Totally different philosophy.

Stone Bridge 49 Madison 21.

Six Madison turnovers and a dropped touchdown pass…Stone Bridge back’s 2nd level speed was too much once they got into Madison’s defensive backfield.

It did show that Stone Bridge was challenged by a hurry up no huddle offense for one drive.

SB is a juggernaut this year and the only team in the North that can match their speed and size and physicality are the Woodbridge Vikings. It would be a battle of the Immoveable Object v the Irresistible Force! Both teams/coaches recruit equally. Both teams poach players from nearby schools.

Maybe it’s time to call it Loudoun Underground, taking it over just like we did with football. FXCO is no longer the king in the North, it’s LOCO football! You’re lucky we aren't in the same division, we’d crush you in the playoffs too!

You all don’t actually have the story straight any more. Maybe SB used to recruit, but they don’t need to anymore. Coach T and his staff don’t contact anyone and ask them to come over. All the kids want to play there and be part of the program. Most of their parents agrees and do whatever they need to “move” their kids over. If you are good you play. It would ant his fault if parents choose to move. And no I’m not an SB parent or supporter but I know tons who are and how it has happened. Address check are done by the school the kid moved to so if they want that kid then the “verification” will be fine. Also the parents want their kid there so they ensure a “real” move has happened. There is really no stopping it.

From the Washington Post...

Minutes after a 49-21 win over Madison in which his team made five interceptions, had five touchdowns of 50 or more yards and generally showed up another strong Fairfax County opponent, Stone Bridge Coach Mickey Thompson gathered his team and preached improvement.

“Feels like a loss, doesn’t it?” he asked his players, who murmured in agreement.

...pretty sure he said that after the Lake Braddock game too...

...and why do we call it high school football any more?

They aren't used to having to work for it. That's why it felt like a loss. Normally they just coast and kick ass. Having to actually make an effort to kick ass is considered disappointing.

I’m seeing Manassas Park beat Jefferson last night. I thought they cancelled their varsity season? Did Jefferson lose to a JV team or something?

Maybe if you guys could win some state titles you can thump your chest. LOCO football, kings of the North in regular season play. Since you’re so close to them you should take a ride over to Stonecroft Blvd and see what multiple state titles look like in your trophy case. Until then shut-up you homer, boasting prowess based off of the most widely known cheating program in high school football in NOVA isn’t something to be proud about! Idiot!!

You must be a coach at WHS to feel so butt hurt (probably the DC)lol! I’d focus more on beating CVHS or MHS than cruising the FU. Again, if SB faced WHS in the playoffs, the result would’ve been no different. HIghland Springs just happen to be best football team tegardless of division in the state of VA

There’s a reason why it’s been forever since a LOCO team came home with the bling. None of your schools can win without relying on anything but talent. In other words your coaches can’t coach which is why so many cheat with recruiting. Oh, by the way, any one of the past 3 Oscar Smith teams would have swept up the floor with your supposed superior LOCO teams. Yes Highland Springs may be good, but don’t compare to the number of D1 recruits the Smith teams had/have! You jackass!!

BTW, who’s butt hurt as you put it? You’re the one that was on here thumping your chest about the superiority of SB and other LOCO schools. I was merely pointing out to what an absolute ass you were making of yourself with your shallow arguement. Opinion is just that, opinion, DO something in the post season when it counts. Then you may come on here and gloat all you want!

Kids who played for other high schools before Stone Bridge. Who am I missing on this year's team? I know I don't have them all.

Payton Hunter – Rock Ridge High School
Nick Mell – Atlee High School
Jared Cole – Oakton High School
Zakias Moore – Rock Ridge High School
Tai Felton – Briar Woods High School
Ajani Gillis – Rock Ridge High School
Taye Davis – Tuscarora High School
Gabriel Perez – Rock Ridge High School
Billy Wiles – Riverside High School
David Cox – Rock Ridge High School

Man U r sooo butt hurt!!! Oscar Smith last year lost or a 4A team, they were not that good. HS has just as many D1 kids. Except they don’t lose to NOVA teams. Again, head to head regular season SB is currently better than WHS and won’t change since we CAN’T play each other in playoffs. Geez what’s so hard for you to inferstNd about that coach. Lay off the caffeine or pre-workout bro.

HS did/does not have as many D1 recruits as OS over the past 3 seasons. SB has an overall record of 4-3 against WF in the regular season, wow one whole game. SB has one lopsided victory and WF has one as well. The other contests were close. SB recruits, WF does not, see current recruiting list above of current SB players and what schools Thompson plucked them from. HS doesn’t lose to LOCO schools, that’s obvious, can’t tell about FFX since they don’t play. SB is 3-0, same as WF currently. What we do know is SB has 1 title, 2007, WF has 5 over the same span from ‘00-‘17. WF has won the last 3 in a row, SB couldn’t even make it to last years title game because once again your coach choked when it counted. Again, come back here and boast when you catch up in the only W’s that count, State Championships. BTW, not a coach, but it’s obvious you’re a SB student, probably a player, parent, maybe even coach. What is apparent is you have WF envy since you’ve been ranting about how superior SB is to everyone else, especially WF and their fellow FFX County brehteren. I’m sure that’s what keeps you from thinking about how you guys choke every year when it counts. Cheaters never prosper, didn’t mamma ever tell you that!

Here’s the list by the way, what an absolute joke. I think SB May have surpassed the beach schools as far as recruiting/cheating is concerned by attempting to build/steal a title. But one thing is for certain, Thompson will blow it in the post season when it counts, bet the house on it!

Simmons puts in the second string for a lot of the second half (twice out of 3 games so far). This is why they win state championships. He's not looking for a 50-7 win. He'll take a 30-14 win and get his backups ready to step in with experience because they've got lots of downs against the starters of WF opponents. From what I can tell, SB coaches leave their skill position players in the whole game and almost all of their starters, even when the score is already 45 - 0. And what no one is mentioning is the WF has the best QB in the region by far. And he's only a junior. And Smith would have crushed SB. Way too big and powerful for the puny sticklegged prissies at Stonebridge. They would literally pound them into the ground. Probably at least 4 or 5 SB players would have been carried off the field and another 4 or 5 would have been pulled for concussions.

2 posts above about Simmons are correct. How the hell did SB get a kid from the Richmond area though? Atlee? His family might’ve legit moved to Ashburn.

All these accusations of “recruiting” unless you have video or email proof you should stop with it. If a kid moved to the area it’s not the coachs or hs fault. WHS got Eddie Royal back in the day, Evan Royster and currently I know that your QB went to Lanier MS and should’ve gone to Fairfax HS but you don’t hear SB crying sour grapes and screaming wrong doings.

You are an idiot. No one begrudges a transfer every now and then. And moving into a school district before high school is not the same thing as transferring after you have already played for another HIGH SCHOOL.

If you can't see the difference between getting a transfer every couple of years versus having half of your starters having transferred after playing for other schools, no further conversation needed.

^^^ same thing, what’s the difference if he played one season at one hs and then switches. (First rule of debate, if you have to resort to name calling you’ve already lost) you’re an idiot to think MT sits there with a board of players from other schools he wants to target and goes recruits or talks to them. Obviously the parents of these kids felt the coaching they received at their prior Hs was lacking and switched because they feel their kid is good enough to play on Sats and are trying to make that happen.

You must be a coach (LBHS or MHS) or Tusky/BR parent mad at Mickey for kicking your butts. Seriously why take and make this so personal? its just a game.

“Feels like a loss, doesn’t it?” after winning 49-21 and being up 28-0 at half. “...the game was too close, to be honest. We wanted to make a statement.” -Mickey Thompson-

...after all it’s just a game...a HIGH SCHOOL game!

LOL! So that's what the SB coaches tell the parents... your coaches don't cut it - if you play here we'll get you a college scholarship! Good one. Most former NFL players perform poorly as coaches. Ask Osbourn about that.

Anyway, I bring this up because LoCo followers keep coming on this forum and thumping their chests about how football is so much better in Loudoun. It's not. You have a few really good teams that largely thrive on recruiting. SB, T and BR. And formerly BW. The rest of the teams in the county are the usual mix of the good, the bad and the ugly. Just like most places.

Don't come on this board and talk about how Stone Bridge has 1000 fewer students than Lake Braddock. They are picking kids from 6 or 7 high schools - a pool of players 10X the size of Lake Braddock.

Broad Run has already forfeited a game due to an illegible player.

No, I don't think Thompson has a pick list but recruiting happens It's routine. Everyone knows it. Listen to this Tuscarora player talk about being recruited:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bt5UNHmTqlE&t=45s

“I appreciate all the coaches… for bringing me in… me transferring from another school… where I didn’t necessarily get the best opportunities… Coach Burnett’s like… “I’ll give you an opportunity to show what you can do.”

He is easily 2nd best QB in district, maybe 1st. CVHS passing scheme is one maybe 2 receivers to run out with rb in flat/underneath. Not very difficult to defend. Not all his fault poor scheme. CVHS is undefeated what more do you want?

Did not see the Forest Park game but saw the Champe game and the first half of SC game. His accuracy was off. Overthrowing some deep balls and underthrowing some short ones but I have seen enough of him to know that he can make those throws and am confident he will be better moving forward. With that running game I wish they would play action pass on 1st down occasionally. There should be some plays to be made if they do.

You are wrong on this one. He wasn’t recruited. His family moved. He was thankful for the opportunity to play and show his contributions coming in after being somewhere else and Coach B didn’t promise him a position or anything other than the ability to join the team and try to earn a playing spot.

Woodbridge is way too low on this list.

1. Stone Bridge (allegedly, Mickey thinks this could be one of his best teams ever)
2. Westfield (as of now-but WF always improves over the course of the season and if they do improve like the past several years, by week #10 they could be #1)
3. Woodbridge (don't have a strong schedule so they should run the table)
4. Broad Run (not familiar with them; going on what I hear)
5/6. Centreville/Madison (lets see who wins when they play)
7. Tuscarora (unless they lose again, then they are out of the top 10)
8. Robinson (LB, SC and WTW games will tell where they stand)
9. Patriot (only 3 good teams on their schedule)
10. Freedom (schedule even weaker than Patriot's)

If you think that Broad Run wouldn't spank the shit out of Centrevile and Robinson, you are either delusional or uninformed. I won't argue with your moving Tuscarora out for now, but they have been playing without their QB all season. Even wit their back-up they boat race Woodson and South Lakes now.

CVHS or ROBO would shove that football down the throats of any Loudoun team other than SB. Get your finesse crap out of here. Plus FXCO don’t have to cheat by recruiting to win. How’d that L taste cheating bitch!

Don't know about that. Saw the Broad Run-Champe game and Broad Run had a much more difficult time versus Champe than Centreville did. Not debatable.

I think Centreville and/or Madison would have at worst a 50-50 shot against Broad Run.

Coach Haddock is three of four rungs below the top coaches in Fairfax and/or Loudoun. Broad Run is way too athletic for Centreville this year. Champe is much more athletic than Centreville as well, but their coach is one of the few who knows less about coaching than Haddock.

Broad Run beat Champe at their place 21-6, and gave up a meaningless TD with a minute left.

Centreville beat Champe at home 14-0 before Champe realized their sophomore QB could throw.

"Not debatable." ?

That makes you sound like an idiot.

What happened to Centreville last time they played Broad Run when their RB was healthy?

Boat raced at home. He could stop a simple RB draw up the gut.

Undefeated currently, yeah he sucks. 2 State championship appearances in a row. Yeah he sucks. 1 State championship (should be 2 since Ocean Lakes was caught and reprimanded for cheating) but yeah he sucks. You must be bitter for player/parents mad cuz you weren’t good enough for next level so you blame the coach. Yeah right, sorry but Haddock doesn’t have anything to do with your stupid ass getting bad grades so you weren’t “offerable”. Dumb ass!

Haddock turned Fairfax into a winning team. FAIRFAX. That alone should get him into the Hall of Fame.

Then he took over a struggling Centreville program that had gone 4-16 the previous two seasons and had them in the state championship game his second year.

Hendo recruited Oakton’s QB away (only to sit him on the bench) he recruited LB QB. Last year he recruited some kid down from F’burg area, that’s what and why he uses his 7-7 league/team for, duhhhh

It will be interesting to see how VHSL handles the weather with the hurricane projected to come through. I remember in 2009 one of my boys had to play in a downpour (it was 35 degrees) and they played the entire game. No lightning, no problem I guess. We'll see...

1. Centreville (-28) @ Forest Park
- Wildcats keep rolling.

- Centreville won and covered. Neutral site game, (Potomac HS) no idea why though.

2. Chantilly @ West Potomac (-17)

- West Potomac won but did not cover. Sloppy game with a lot of turnovers and penalties.

3. Edison (-6) @ McLean

- Edison won and covered, 35-21.

4. Dominion @ South Lakes (-10)
- Enjoy the wins while you can SL.

- South Lakes won and covered, 35-7.

5. Fairfax @ Hayfield (-21)
- 2 coaches that know each other very well. The talent at Hayfield is just superior.

- Hayfield won but did not cover.

6. Bell (DC) (-7) @ Falls Church
- Taking the DC school!

- Bell won by 2 points. Looks like Falls Church had their couple of up years and they are going back down.

7. Langley @ Potomac Falls (-17)

- Potomac Falls won by 11.

8. Marshall (-6) @ Herndon
- Could go either way..

- Marshall dominated 31-10.

9. Stuart (-10) @ Lee
- The Battle of the Confederate Generals!

- Stuart won a shootout 42-35, and remain undefeated. Who knows the last time they've gone 3-0 to start a season. Kudos to the kids and coaches over there. Looks like the talent pool around the Falls Church area now lays in Stuart's district.

10. Stone Bridge (-18) @ Madison
- Game of the week. Good test to see where Madison stands.

- Stone Bridge won and covered. "Felt like a loss"

11. Stonewall Jackson @ Westfield (-21)

- Westfield won 31-13, missed the spread by 3.

12. T.C. Williams @ Robinson (-24)
- Rams roll on Homecoming. They always find a way to beat TC bad.

- Robinson runs away 45-12, scored the final 31 points of the game.

13. Washington-Lee @ Mount Vernon (-21)
- MV plays a very weak out of conference schedule, district play might be a rude awakening for them.

- Mount Vernon 54-10.

14. Eastern (DC) @ Wakefield (-7)
I Don't know anything about Eastern but Wakefield beat them in Arlington last year, so why can't they do it again?

- Eastern won 37-20...

15. Yorktown @ Woodson (-7)
- Should be a good one.

- Woodson won 42-20, those boys look good!

**** Manassas park won at Thomas Jefferson 27-12, I guess they got together enough guys to field a team. (And win!)

**** Ive been reading the thread and the Stone Bridge situation is nothing new, it has been going on for a decade now. (That I can recall) Back in the day, Loudoun had boundaries, (& Im not sure if its changed since) BUT if a kid could provide transportation to said school, they could attend. Coach Thompson took full advantage of this and got all the local talent at his school. (Back then, they didn't have as many schools in Loudoun though) My thing is, you only have 1 state championship with all that talent.... The point is though, it's been happening and it'll continue to happen once parents are told that their child has a better chance to win, compete, get exposure, etc. at his program.

Finally back to normal Friday Night Lights.

1. Battlefield (-21) @ Chantilly
- The Chargers have improved.

2. Champe @ Stone Bridge (-28)
- Show me something Mickey and run through these Loudoun schools, as you should be doing.

3. Fairfax (-20) @ Annandale

4. Falls Church @ Marshall (-15)
- The falling off of Falls Church Football..

5. Hayfield @ South County (-9)
- Game of the week. Great rivalry game, and always a shootout. Hayfield had an extra week to prepare and a win would be big, as Robinson waits for them next week.

6. Langley (-10) @ Oakton
- Does Oakton finally get its first points of the season this week? Ill say yes, but they still lose.

7. Madison (-35) @ Washington-Lee

8. Mount Vernon (-31) @ Wakefield

9. Osbourn Park @ Herndon (7)
- Hornets annual Saturday afternoon Homecoming game.

10. Patriot (-19) @ T.C. Williams.
- Another Saturday game.

11. South Lakes @ Centreville (-30)

12. Stuart (-14) @ McLean
- 4-0 start for Stuart?? I'm predicting it!

13. Thomas Jefferson @ Edison (-35)
- I wanted to make the spread higher, but it's Edison. I still think they cover comfortably.

14. Woodson (-27) @ Lee

15. Westfield (-28) @ West Springfield

16. Yorktown @ Lake Braddock (-16)
- Interesting game. Lake Braddock will have a big Homecoming crowd.

Best of the worst? A lot of bad football and Saxons will come out on top by 12 but Oakton will finally get that goose egg off their (PF) stat line.

> 7. Madison (-35) @ Washington-Lee
Warhawks gonna take out their ass licking from SB on W-L. 28-0 at half time, let’s see if HC eases up or keep starters in through the entire 3rd.

> 8. Mount Vernon (-31) @ Wakefield
MV still scoring points in bunches in meaningless games, still don’t have what it takes to sustain it through the playoffs. MV by whatever they want.

> 9. Osbourn Park @ Herndon (7)

> game.
Herndon will lose in upset. OP -5

> 10. Patriot (-19) @ T.C. Williams.
> - Another Saturday game.
If TC can play 2nd half like they do the first half give me Titans in a huge upset. TC -3

> 11. South Lakes @ Centreville (-30)
SL hasn’t played as poorly as I thought they would, still loses by -10. Wildcats are playing better D this year

> 12. Stuart (-14) @ McLean

McLean will not field a varsity team next year.

> 13. Thomas Jefferson @ Edison (-35)

TJ by 3 law of averages.

> 14. Woodson (-27) @ Lee
WTW putting up some big numbers and sitting atop their division. Won’t change after this game.

> 15. Westfield (-28) @ West Springfield
WSHS was off to a hot start last year also until they played the Bulldogs be interesting to see how this goes. Bullldogs -18

> 16. Yorktown @ Lake Braddock (-16)

LB coming off bye week after getting beat 70-3. Surprise enough, they are in a better position at 1-2 than they were a year ago 0-3. Close game I’m pulling for upset. Y-town -7

Lots of big spreads this week.

Battlefield covers.

Fairfax will shut Annandale down, only question is whether they can score enough to cover.

One strong graduating class can take any National District team from being merely bad to truly atrocious.

I think you mean South County had an extra week to prepare. Neither team is as good as the last few years. Battle-tested South County takes a close win but doesn't cover.

No idea whatsoever.

> 7. Madison (-35) @ Washington-Lee

That's a lot of points to give. W-L loses handily but covers.

> 8. Mount Vernon (-31) @ Wakefield

Wakefield gave up 37 to Eastern last week. Eastern had been shut out in their first two games. Majors score 50 in the first half.

Herndon gets some homecoming magic to cover.

> 10. Patriot (-19) @ T.C. Williams.

TC appears to have gone downhill this year and Patriot can put points on the scoreboard. Visitors win and cover.

>

South Lakes covers,

> 12. Stuart (-14) @ McLean
> - 4-0 start for Stuart?? I'm predicting it!

Justice might end the season as the worst 8-2 team in VHSL history. If Marshall lost 60-7 in the first round of the playoffs last year I can't even imagine how badly Justice will lose.

> 13. Thomas Jefferson @ Edison (-35)

Edison covers unless they try really hard not to.

> 14. Woodson (-27) @ Lee

Woodson covers.

> 15. Westfield (-28) @ West Springfield

Westfield doesn't run up the score and has been known to give up the backdoor cover. Spartans lose but cover at home.

> 16. Yorktown @ Lake Braddock (-16)
> - Interesting game. Lake Braddock will have a big
> Homecoming crowd.

First time in history a team that loses 70-3 will cover 16 points in their next game. Could go the other way.

Why is it that you rarely see Bulldogs blow a team out or score 50 or pts? Do you think pple and teams don’t think they are that good because they don’t do what Mt Vernon, Stone Bridge and other schools do when given that opportunity?

First, WF does not blow out most teams because Simmons subs liberally. WF also runs an offense that is a bit slower than the hurry up offenses that are prevalent today, leading to fewer possessions overall.
Second, WF's schedule tends to have better teams than the schedule of teams like MV who score big. If you have 1-2 dynamic players, but play a really weak team, those 1-2 players can almost score at will. The talent disparity is evident in those type of games, whereas the talent difference is less in most of WF's game.
As to SB, they are a dominant program that runs an offense that is hard to stop unless you pile players in the box (and it is still not easy to stop). That makes a team vulnerable to the pass, and they have had success recently with the passing game also-that formula leads to big wins.

Stone Bridge can't/won't/never will win the BIG GAME. Beat up on the poor Loudoun County teams. Challenge one or two average Fairfax County teams. But go up against other foes that also recruit and manage extensive feeder programs, and SB comes up short, time after time. Coach T needs to develop a better offensive scheme that can't be easily defensed. Otherwise, he will continue to rack up wins in the regular season and fail in the playoffs. Stone Bridge is the Wisconsin of college football. Big size, big piles of wins, and big-time playoff busts.

I’m no SB supporter, but anyone who hates on SB for losing state championship games is clueless. Lots of schools have never even put themselves in that position. Highland Springs has been the best team in the state in any division for the past few years. Losing to them isn’t a sign of poor coaching or a bad system, just a matter of not having enough talent to matchup with a power house. I’m an avid WF watcher and they don’t beat HS either.
SB may be involved in some unethical player communication, but to suggest they aren’t good coaches is wrong.

The 2nd time SB faced HS and lost was all about the poor decision making of the HC. His hubris cost them that game. They were up 3rd qtr and had all the momentum going their way, HS body language looked as if they were defeated but SB around their own 35 yd on 4th & 7 or so instead of punting and playing field position game chose to go for it with a run up the middle for short gain, turn over on downs. That defense stop breathed new life into HS, short field you know the rest. So yeah that is not good coaching.

Sorry, but to lose that many big games and not be able to put together a winning game plan is coaching. They have had plenty enough talent to win multiple championships. It's actually pretty shocking they haven't gotten it done. Mickey would say so himself.

To say Westfield could not or would not have beat HS any of the last three years is misguided and unsupportable. I'm not denying that HS may be/have been a more talented and athletic team. But time and time again Westfield has proven they can overcome that. Really, Woodbridge and Oscar Smith had it all over them with size and speed last year. Coaching.

That being said the cupboard at Westfield is pretty bare - don't think they will be able to get it done this year. Look for a few losses coming soon. Does look though like they have a good bit of size in the pipeline - don't think we'll be talking how small they are in a few years.

Yeah, most issues have been beaten to death in the last couple of weeks. At this point it's just play the games and see what happens.

Speaking of beating issues to death - should the VHSL not do what other states are starting to do regarding recruiting?

Some states are keeping track of transfers and if a team has more than a baseline number of transfers they are moved up a classification for either the playoffs or the next two years.

The basic concept is that is stupid to keep a school with 1500 students in Class 5 when they have a dozen or more transfers from other schools. It is silly to pretend that they do not have a distinct advantage over schools in their classification that do not recruit.

LB looks to get back on the winning track against Yorktown. The staff has worked really hard during the bye week, look for LB to dominate and come away with a big victory.

The staff has worked so hard I wouldn't be surprised to see them run off 8 victories in row. If you remember last year, they had a run of 7 in a row, once the staff makes the adjustments they are hard to beat

LB will not run the table for the remainder of the season. As to last year, once they no longer had to play a tough opponent they were able to win games. Given a real adversary of a similar skill level they would always find a way to lose.

LB doesn't mean Lake Braddock, it means

Losing Big games!

That's what they do!

Hmmm how did that playoff game against Woodbridge work out for ya fella? Anyways I heard mass exodus of players from the team after that beat down as those kids quit cuz they are soft and scared. Also your UVA commit is having second thoughts of risking a knee for a bad team and group of coaches and doesn’t what to jeopardize his scholarship by playing any more for the Bruins

Making shit up, are you? Not one piece of what you say is true. Not one. Interesting that you made those specific things up though. Scared, clearly. Get some real, some true information before coming back here.
