What is this driving term?

What is the term called when someone is driving in the left passing lane (on a 4 lane divided road) and they stay even with car to there right and not allowing any cars behind them to pass? Someone here posted what this driving practice was called quite some time ago.

Anyone!

Rolling Roadblock and/or a self absorbed driver that has no idea anyone else in the world exists.

I've always referred to it as a moving roadblock.

No name of the violation is listed, but from VA law:

https://law.lis.virginia.gov/vacode/46.2-804
§ 46.2-804. Special regulations applicable on highways laned for traffic; penalty.

And from the Washingotn Post last Feb.:

My buddy drives an old, beat up Chrysler Imperial. On Friday nights, we like to steal a couple of 12 packs and drive up and down roads that have interstate interchanges.

We drive slow in the merge area directly next to someone getting off the exit ramp. When they speed up, we speed up. When they slow down, we slow down. We even give the other driver a bunch of "What the fuck are you doing?!?!" looks.

And then laugh our asses off when their only choice...is to go back down the ramp and get on the highway again.

Thank you.......that's it.

It's usually when I am driving 45 in a 40 and somebody wants to get by me at 55. So that is that.

It is making my head hurt trying to envision the scenario you described. I will just go to bed now.

The way I read and interpret this bill is that it is mainly for highway driving not local roads, in particular 4 lane roads, such as Stringfellow or Centreville Rd. As long as you do not exceed the speed limit everyone has the right to drive in either lane. Anyone exceeding the limit, who wants to pass, is in violation of the limit and should be ticketed.

In the article posted normal speed of traffic is very misleading as it still should not exceed the speed limit.

I saw someone doing this once. I was driving around Fairfax Circle on the way to get some fresh, hot fish and chips and cole slaw over at Arthur Treacher's. I was in the circle and two cars were blocking my path! So annoying. All I wanted was an icy cold Fanta and they wouldn't get out of my way.

There was a guy named Nestor who used to drive 55mph in the left lane of the Beltway on purpose, saying that since the speed limit was 55, he was within his rights to drive at 55 in the left lane. Back then, some people called that Nestoring.

I used to work with a guy named Nestor. Used to work the Fanta machine over at the Fairfax Circle Arthur Treacher's. Good guy.

there doesn't need to be a "new law"

"obstructing traffic" is already law

that means in any way shape or form

the law legally must be short, correct, succinct so everyone can read it and the general public finds it "quite knowable". that's the law

what these wordpad legislators are doing IS ILLEGAL: writing up a bunch of self conflicting other-conflicting crap to codifiy every niche of every existence making the books to heavy to think about "reading"

---------------------

it's the legislators that are breaking the law here

that's my point: captain obvious is legally necessary for the writing of law

for example: some idiot foreigner is trying to create an insurance claim (or a loss to whitey) by creating an accident situation. the law says not to block the left he's obstructing the right using speed up slow down

if i'm a cop i see his ass give him a ticket for OBSTRUCTION. a lawyer could try a loophole saying "it was a 2 lane road, not 4", however if the law is legally written and interpreted that's IMPOSSIBLE - because #1 use of loopholes has been illegal for 2,000 years (indicating many fraudulent uses of law: which is true), and #2 the law prohibits OBSTRUCTION which means all _reasoned_ forms, which includes intentful no matter how many lanes

> Captain Obvious

+1

that is the real law, only a driveling Harvard law democrat would lie in court and say otherwise

Nope. The basis is the normal speed of traffic, not the speed limit.

I KNOW THE TERM!

it's called: being fixated on the past and eventually becoming psychopathic

CURE:

look to the future, get back to your todo list, even if it's fucking around

My buddies use to pull out and go the exact 25 mph speed limit on thru streets just to trigger people. It was hilarious.
