Long John Silver's fades into the long night

So there just aren't any of these restaurants left. Anyone know why they are all failing? With all the nonsense AT posts on this board you'd think there is reasonable unmet demand for battered fish.

There used to be on in Falls Church, and one in Woodbridge. The District Heights MD location off Donnell Drive just shut down with no notice, as did the Capitol Heights version.

The one in Dale City is barely holding on, likely to fail soon.

You'd think the cobranded locations (Taco Bell/A&W+LJS) would make sense, but apparently not. What gives?

They are LJS in NY State, and the are also a few ATs in NY as well.

Everything is just better in NY just ask Chuck Schumer and Hillary Clinton, two of the most famous NYers in history.

To answer Fish Head's question, it's because they didn't sell Fish Head Soup.

It's a conspiracy!
McDonald's is running any legitimate fish outlets out of business.
Maybe involved in Chesapeake Bay Seafood failure.
All to leave us no option but the hideous fillet O fish.

It's interesting that you say that.
I like most kinds of fish, I like the variety of flavors and textures.
I guy I used to work with hated fish. All fish. Except McDonald's Filet-O-Fish. He would always order 2 of them. When I pointed out the contradiction, he would always say that he wasn't sure it was really fish, so therefor, it was OK.

Funny thing is, I remember when pollock was considered a trash fish: they'd throw it away. Long John Silver's was one of the first places Americans were exposed to it, per

And this comes from a guy who loves deep fried crap.

I used to pass by the one that was on Rt. 7 at the edge of Falls Church. If I had to stop at the traffic light there, I hated the smell from the place when the wind blew from that direction.

Flank Steak used to be considered a trash meat as well. My family lived off of that shit because my parents could get it so for next to nothing. Now I can barely afford it!!!!

Typical reasons a restaurant closes, any one of combination of these:
- Quality of food has become worse.
- Quality of service has become worse.
- Changing demographics of area and people not care for the kind of food the restaurant serves. Hmmmmm, no surprise for Fairfax County and some other parts of Northern Virginia.
- Restaurant lost lease.
- Restaurant costs have risen, such as increase in minimum wage.
- Economic decline in area, recession causes loss of jobs, people has less money for eating out or moved away to less expensive area.

Any of those reasons cause a restaurant to be less profitable and cannot stay in business.

I like going to LJS in Warrenton. I get fried fish planks with fries , hushpuppies , and double coleslaw. I take all that food home to eat so I will be near a shitter.

It’s Donald Trump’s fault. He likes McDonalds not LJS. So he ordered the CIA to launch a covert operation to put them all out of business. James Comey wrote about this in his book

Real seafood should be from real sea-places, like, you know, oceans. So that’s exactly where we source ours from.

We’re no one trick sea pony. Sure, we’ve got the classic fried fish and chips you love, but we also have delicious grilled seafood options on our menu of delica-seas.

I frequently go to Charles Town Racing and Slots in West Virginia. Thankfully there are two Long John Silvers in close proximity to the race track. I always enjoy stopping by and feasting on several fish sandwiches after a night of successful betting. I recommend these two restaurants highly, it is well worth the trip from Fairfax
