About 5 years ago I had someone in the neighborhood let their dog off a leash and it always came in my yard.

So I bought a pellet gun (pistol) and waited for the dog to come back. The next day it did, and I put the gun barrel to my testicles and fired. It hurt like hell and got infected.

Set up a camera in the window pointing in the direction of the spot favored by the dog to poop in. Make sure the camera is night vision also. Once you have the evidence on camera you can take the evidence to the police and swear out a warrant. That person will get to pay a fine and find somewhere else to relieve their canine.

Also, we have a number of people on our street that let their dogs bark all day, or early morning and late at night, virtually EVERY DAY.

Fairfax Board of Supervisors passed ordinances a year or two ago saying that if you let you are dog do this, you are doing to get a big fine.

Police initially gave warnings after a complaint, but now the Police are writing tickets/fines. And the Police come back to check up on the owners, and if it is a problem again, the Police write more tickets/fines until they get the message.

Police are busy and don't want to keep coming back to deal with this. So "knock, knock", Keep your dog quiet and bring it indoors, and here's a fine or court summons. Have a nice day.

I see and what are you seeking in damages against this obstinate dog?

Exactly what is your injury?

Law is not a toy that gives you miracles for making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Wonderful -- PLEASE PROVIDE YOUR ADDRESS so we can direct dog owners to your yard! Awesome that you are so tolerant.

We look forward to your reply. We have many dog owners here who like to crap on other people's lawns.

Thank you in advance for your tolerance and make your property for animal waste. (Given your generous nature, please make water dishes available for the doggies, too!)

there is no game of the law let's you attack anyone who doesn't agree and do vengeance upon others (which is illegal no matter what is done)

THE PENALTY MUST FIT THE CRIME

IF YOU DON'T LIKE THAT - MOVE TO MEXICO

Huh?? You clearly are on the wrong website.

The penalty, as illustrated in the link (which you clearly did not view), is a class 4 criminal record for trespass. That is what our democracy, lawmaker, and Court say "fit the crime." Be lucky you don't live in Montgomery County where the penalties are higher.

BTW, you are clearly a moron, ma'am. Good luck with your GED certification (and/or, ironically, your re-location to Mexico).

No address provided? That's what we thought, amigo...

Your anger and immaturity reveal the hollowness and insincerity of your illogical "argument." What next from you clever "man;" call me a c*nt, perhaps?

P.S. Do you appear in those commercials for mentally challenged adults proclaiming that you're "perfect for the job!". Bit of an exaggeration for you, wouldn't you say? But, nevertheless, continue to embrace those dog shitters on your lawn (... somehow we now suspect that you do not have more than two kitchen chairs, let alone a lawn).

Not sorry. I agree with the anti-dog OWNER posters. They're inconsiderate, rude, and presumptuous.

YOU might not be affected by it, but LOTS of other people are -- I don't understand why dog owners think it's ok to go onto other people's property for their dogs to take a crap, no less.

I agree though -- it's definitely not the dogs' fault.

I do agree that most dog owners think it's their right for their dog to shit wherever it wants -- and clearly the police want people to take these idiots directly to Court by the information provided on its website.

People around here are generally ass*holes. Follow the procedures outlined in the link. It's a pain in the neck in the short run, but it will save you time in the long run. I ask nice, ONCE. Then, not so nice.

Disagree? I don't care. The Court agrees with me.

I sent this form letter to a few repeat offenders. It worked! For now.

I am willing to filing a complaint in court like the form says if that's what it takes.

I had to reseed my lawn twice in the past 5 years. I have young children whom my spouse won't let play in the front yard because it had become a dog shit area. No more.

The number of dogs didn't increase, but the number of people who started feeling it was ok to use my yard did -- again, no more.

Thank you!

For escaped animals you have to have gotten an injury to use "the Courts" to complain.

There is no such thing as a wild animal "trespassing" you bloody moron.

Only in the case there is a continual nuisance can you file a nuisance complaint your neighbor is "bothering you repeatedly".

YOUR BOTHERING ME! Where is my form for the nuisance of educating a moron?

A real danger such as a growling male pit bull would of course be expected to be corrected more quickly than a smart collie out to get trash, But for one instance without an injury: no, nothing.

The old laws are that wild animals be kept tied, and a man be liable if the tie breaks or he forgets to tie. The penalties would be different for someone who self decided animals didn't need to be tied after being told they did (a first time). However: most dogs are tame, and some neighborhoods agree to let their pets roam (less often seen today in fairfax).

What the hell are you talking about? The Fairfax County Police Department PSA link is for citizens bothered by owners repeatedly allowing their dogs to trespass on their neighbors' property to take a dump/piss/whatever. Who said anything about wild animals?

You're (note the proper use of you're) the bloody moron and you added nothing to this discussion. You might not like the ordinance, but too bad. Man, people are dumb in FFX.

Poster isn't breaking law. If YOU pea-brain come on my property after you received notice, not only are YOU BOTHERING ME, but you are a breaking the law and you are a CRIMINAL. Call POLICE for your own "education" if your pea brain can absorb common sense. Douche.
