in iraq, they pay truckers four times what they do here. no, im not kidding. they really do pay out because it's hard to get people that will do it as the whole possible being gunned down bit seems to be the deal-breaker.

You can get a CDL in West Virginia(45 minutes away) at 18, I don't know if they require you to be a resident.

Maryland and Virginia will give you an "intrastate" CDL at 18.

Gravis wouldn't last a week in Iraq, most pussies don't.

You are 18, in the National Guard and just finished training? Sorry, Bud. You are going to be in Ramadi within the next 90 days. Don't even bother with the job.

Well you didn't tell us where you are from. if you are in the Herndon area, there's always the day laborer's site. If not, 7-11 and any other place w/ 50 mexicans standing outside is always a good place to start.

You should go to dupont circle and ask anyone if they are looking for some "rough trade" You should easily spot Pgens, Gravis and many other members of FX underground there at all times of day and night

"The Metro Station?" There are probably about 50 Metro stations(subway stops) in the DC area. 3 in FFX County(End of the Orange Line http://www.wmata.com/metrorail/systemmap.cfm)

Interesting concept "the Metro Station"(one station) I guess people would get on the Metro and go in a circle, then get off where they started?

I hope you have been here before being from Montana. The culture shock and cost of living will surprise you. Not to mention the two legged animals that roam the streets.

Make sure whoever you are staying with clues you in on where to go and not to go in DC. You get off at the wrong metro stop there and you will think you are in Iraq with all the shooting and killing.

As far as a job look into government since you have some credit points for being in the Guard.

Where does it say that "the" MUST denote singular? My wife sends me to the Giant all the time!

Hey, newguy, check out driving a school bus. They hire at 18 and, as someone mentioned, you can get an inTRAstate CDL at age 18. My neighbor started driving a school bus when he got bored of retirement. He LOVES the job and it pays well with great bennies.

How the Hell do you just finish training with the National Guard in Montana and end up moving to Virginia? Guard units are organized by state. Don't you have to make some sort of minimal time commitment to your state's Guard before you just up and move?

You won't be driving much around here anyway. All you have to do is take your foot off the brake occasionally to go from point A to point B, and steer with your knee. Be sure to get a cellphone too, it helps to fit in with the local culture and exudes an air of importance.

"Be sure to get a cellphone too, it helps to fit in with the local culture and exudes an air of importance"

Even more important is to take the cell phone everywhere you go, the dentist, doctors office and restaurants. Make sure ringer is set for highest level. Let it ring five or six times since you have to be sure everyone knows it is you being called. Once you answer speak in extra loud voice, you are a very important person and everyone should hang on your every word.
