Why do you say that? He's just posting the truth about the inspections. Do you happen to own one of the places that was cited?

These are hardly indicative of a cockroach issue. They also don't tell an entire story.
The Genji one for example, a repeat is a automatic critical violation regardless of how minor. As it happens, it was a critical violation regardless, but does not indicate any improper treatment of food. In this instance, your required to maintain a log of the refrigerator temperatures, every 2 hours, where the food your department is responsible for is stored. If at any point between the previous visit and the current visit that it is not recorded, it is a critical violation. Despite the fact that most grocery stores have a third party monitoring their refrigerator temps and will call to report any odd fluctuations or shutdowns.

The drink violation is an utter crock of shit. This means someone had the audacity to have a cup of water or coffee somewhere behind a counter. I can be nowhere near food, safely tucked in a container under a shelf, and without a cap and straw, it's a critical violation. I once had a cup of water on top of a kegerator with 6 taps. Beer spills all over it constantly. There were drops of beer on it at the time, and the cup of water was a critical violation. Hilarious.

Meh. I did these for the county long ago. I could find something one way or another pretty much anywhere. Or not depending on what and where. Don't assume that because a place has no violations listed that it's perfectly in the clear. Or because a place has a few violations that it's a mess. Where you see continuing problems usually in smaller places is where you want to be a little more suspect. But then they don't get cut breaks like some others. If you're going to tag a place like Fleming's, you'd better have a damn good reason and they're more likely to be given a chance to correct without citation. A smaller little hole in the wall, naaaa they're getting cited. Just the way that the world works.

I am thankful for the inspections and happy they are posted. I know we have stopped setting at certain restaurants due to poor inspections. Some items I can overlook but if your raw meat is stored with fresh veggies... We are done eating there. Restaurants definitely have it harder now with yelp. I don't go to a restaurant (that I don't know) without looking at yelp reviews these days.

This thread might actually be useful if you opened up the online reports and copied the violations along with the notes on the ones that were corrected during the inspection.

Artie's on Old Lee Hwy., for example:

Observation (REPEAT) (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Food employee(s) was observed handling the following ready-to-eat foods using their bare hands: 1. Fresh bread to be sliced and served, 2. Garnish like parmesan cheese, 3. Cooked seafood off the grill.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): The food-contact surfaces of the following equipment were not observed sanitized: 1. Racks of dish ware, 2. Racks of cambro containers and lids, 3. Racks of stainless steel pans. Observed the heat sanitizing dish machine not functioning properly.

Observation: Due to improper operation of the hot water, mechanical warewashing machine, the thermolabel did not turn black, indicating that food-contact surfaces of equipment and utensils are not being adequately sanitized.

Our restaurant hasn't been inspected for all this time, but yesterday a guy came and noticed we had a bit of a mess. So he wrote out a fine for us. Sad story.

Your restaurant is a sad story, I think. While all ordinary people visit this website and get stailness steel racks to arrange things in their restaurants in order, alternatively gifted personalities do nothing and hope that inspections will be bypassing them for decades. So get your fine in hand and pay is fast, don't be a moron. Next time do everything right.

They have the dirtiest kitchen and filthy kitchen staff. I used to be a server there. Cooks don’t wash hands, food is old. The manager is a total scumbag. Bennie, a greasy wop who fucks the slutty servers and cheats on his ugly old wife. The family that own it are real low lives. The other restaurants are a dump too.
