IP Addresses can already be traced if Cary has reason enough to do so or he is served with a Warrant by the police and forced to do it.

using a vpn service you can spoof the ip ... logging ip's is no longer a valid option. i can make myself appear to be any place in the world. so for cary to track and log the real ip ... he would need some nice software and most likely force users to use a log in key. the log key and ip address would work together , if either is wrong a failed log in would occur and set off an attempted hack alert ... but who wants to go through that ass ache?
