DC resident charged with possession in VA

What can they do to me? I have a medical DC card. Would DC police arrest me if I ignore VA's demands?

NO DC will not arrest you, but you will have a warrant in VA and the next time VA cops run your tags at a light, or anything else if you come to VA you will get arrested.

Wow, how stupid are you. Marijuana is illegal according to US code - states cannot make it legal - they can just choose not to enforce Federal Law and specify under which conditions they are not going to enforce it. Just like sanctuary cities do with Immigration law.

Virginal is enforcing federal law so you are subject to whatever penalties apply and being a DC resident is irrelevant. You committed a crime, get ready to do the time.

What can they do to you? They can convict and punish you for possession. The privilege of possessing and using pot ends at the DC line, and even in DC you could be charged if you broke Federal law, although that is unlikely.

I read this in an article a while back and I don't remember exactly what the change was, but Virginia recently changed their penalties for a simple possession.

Believe it or not, they used to suspend your drivers license for 6 months if you were convicted and they changed that a few months back.
