Flashing I-66 tag/plate readers.every car.why?

The Gov/VDOT is tracking your every move. why is it? I got flashed(tracked) by these new overhead strobe flashes last night. 9/16/17. E bound to Arl, then west bound into Fairfax. they snap pictures of EVERY Vehicle. Are they attempting to get your average speed? track your movements? I have nothing to hide, but that is weird. Anyone else know why such expensive technologies are being used out on I-66. just curious...

There's one on Rt 15 right before the bridge into MD, recording every car going/coming into VA.

Looks like you were inside the beltway when this was happening. There were signs up stating they VDOT were testing the system this weekend.

Use a clear plate which obscures the plate when a flash photo is taken. Never been bothered by an officer about it.

We are all tracked constantly by various technologies.
Government has unlimited resources to do so.
That this sort of thing is occurring around the United States capital should surprise no one.

Yes, I'm not surprised. and...of course they are watching.....I'm sure that we may not ever know what they will use the data for, other than what they want us to believe. Then keeping info on servers forever only to be 'hacked' or abused. For instance knowing when a certain person is not at home (B&E's). Thanks for the insight, FxU-users

Eddie you may be nice but also somewhat dim witted.
The same system is in use at highway 15 and 395.
No toll system there.
