Deeds Supporters Make Sure YOU VOTE TODAY

Deeds Supporters Make Sure YOU VOTE TODAY.

We may be able to pull a fast one on McDonnell.

There is a good chance that many Republicans may not vote today thinking McDonnell will win no matter what. Hopefully high margins in vote polls will keep them away.

Where's that final nail? I am sure the GOP has been waiting anxiously and nervously worrying about your prediction.

So, care to disclose those reasons now? Put up or shut up. What's the BIG information your are privy to and where is it? Isn't the Deeds campaign waiting a bit too long to air the dirty laundry. Let me guess, it will be released any minute now.

1) The Ad was never release because it was decided it would be in poor taste and could backfire.

2) I answered that I'm happy about the polls predicting McDonnell with a wide margin. I am hoping this discourages Republicans from voting.

McDonnell is a black Muslim from Kenya.

Whatever. Backfire? At 14 points down, there was nothing to lose. Nothing at all. That tells me there was no "october surprise" and you are full of shit.

The opposite is happening. Dems aren't showing up. So much for your wish.

Deeds ran a piss poor campaign and voters aren't going to waste their time to support a losing cause. They hated his campaign and his lack of message. There is little to no enthusiasm among non-activist Democrats. These aren't my words, these are the words of VA voters that I have spoken to.

I will certainly agree that Deeds did run a poor campaign but it's difficult to compete when McDonnell's campaign is funded from Virgina Power and has the three times the money for ads.

The people who really lose are the Virginians that will have to see McDonnell's failed programs clobber the State funds and push VA farther in debt.

The dems in my office (who were so eager to vote when Obama was running) stayed away from the voting booth today. The main answer appears to be that they are sick of all politicians. So I guess that Hope and Change kind of died on the vine as Obama was revealed to be just another politician.

It doesn't help that Deeds is dull as dishwater either.

Given their position on social issues, democrats would easily dominate if they simply would support a smaller government - i.e., less taxing and spending.

This is why the colleagues of lopter = flopter are not coming out to vote today. They have no enthusiasm for anyone associated with more taxes and more government. I can't imagine a majority agreeing with McDonnell on his social positions (I don't) - but it apparently doesn't matter.

The sample ballots today were interesting. The blue sample ballot recommended checking yes on the school bonds. The red ballot simply left it blank. A subtle message, I think, on the red ballot to remind voters to query how wisely the Government spends our $$$.

First, Deeds has only himself to blame for poor fundraising; the sitting Gov is head of the DNC, the President offered help - Deeds was too stubborn and too stupid. Second, he received a shitload from labor unions. You can look it up. Third, it is called DOMINION Power, NOT Virginia Power. Tell whoever wrote your talking points to edit them because they are making you look stupid.

Bottom line, the first 5 to 6 points are on Deeds. If he loses by anymore than 6 points, those belong to the President. FWIW, I think it is a 6 pont race at the end of the day.

Actually, it's a not-so-subtle message that the Repubic Party could not care less about schools: "Do what you want, we don't care how it comes out."

Republicans consider schools "social services." They are more concerned about fighting gay and lesbian marriage.

And teachers are more concerned about teaching the merits of gay and lesbian marriage than the core curricula. Schools are not social services until teachers treat their jobs as such.

The fact that Deeds is losing Democratic voters in McLean speaks volumes and tells you this race is over and it will be an early night for Democrats across VA unless they have an interest in the NJ race.

Chesterbrook Precinct: Women divided over meaning of McDonnell thesis

We've been asking mothers with daughters at the Chesterbrook polling place in McLean what impact Republican candidate Robert McDonnell's 1989 graduate school thesis had on their voting decision. While Republicans downplay it and Democrats cite it as proof that McDonnell's out of the mainstream, independents don't seem strongly influenced by it.

Ann Merchant, 37, is a Democrat who just voted for Deeds. She didn't vote in June's Democratic primary because she didn't feel strongly about any of the three candidates, and she remains lukewarm for Deeds. She's alarmed, though, about McDonnell.

"The thesis is a serious problem for me - as a feminist and someone who supports gay rights," she said. "Definitely I feel like he's a reactionary."

Tracie Becker, 45, a Democrat, is backing McDonnell. In fact, she picked her party's candidate for every office except governor. She said that she doesn't think the Republican really believes what he wrote 20 years ago.

"Unlike most of the talking head pundits, I view McDonnell as someone who has moved to the center," Becker said, as her six-year-old daughter Shelby munched on a chocolate cookie that a Republican volunteer gave her. "With his own daughters, he as much as anyone wants a fair playing ground for gender equality issues."

Many downplayed the social issues, including independent Shirley Camp, who said personality mattered more than policy. She decided to support Deeds after watching a televised debate about two weeks ago.

"I really wouldn't mind either way," said Camp, 75. "It was mannerisms as much as anything. [Deeds is] modest. I find that kind of person who doesn't think they know it all very attractive. In these jobs, nobody can know all the answers."

I voted for McDonnell because I heard he was gay. I like gay.

I guess if he wins, it'll be like he won the class president's race in third grade. Whoop-Dee-Doo. The position doesn't hold any real power.

if that is true, then why do you care to post about it? As a gay dem, I care.

I am not even sure Creigh Deeds is qualified to be third grade class president. He couldn't make it through a debate with a third grader without looking like a stammering stuttering doofus.

rightwingnutswillalwaysmaybelosers - you may be right. There may be a significant portion of conservatives who don't care about the public schools. Our public school monopoly, except for a few suburban areas and a few rural ones, has largely failed. Most urban systems are awful, and the middle class flight from these schools is epic. Put another way, conservatives (and even not so conservatives) one way or another are increasingly opting out of the public schools. And that can't be a good thing - schools need a decent chunk of good students (generally) to prosper. In this vein, I am not sure demonizing the customers the public school monopoly will continue to need is helpful to your cause. The school system should in the ideal automatically inspire bond approvals - most people understand how important education happens to be. My guess is that this bond issue passes, but by a lesser margin - and it will reflect the same disaffection as I describe.

And lopter, given the early returns in the Governor's race, you may qualify as the most delusional I have run across in a while.

Hey, Lopter is obviously a highly connected Democratic operative with tons of inside information and insight. He even knew about a phantom commercial that was so damaging to the McDonnell campaign. Wonder why Deeds didn't run the ad? I am sure it was due to Lopter's expert advice!

Just kidding, feel free to laugh at the fool - everyone else does. He is the Democratic equivalent of a single issue prolife nutjob voter.
