They practice their new routes prior to the new year beginning to check their timing and for familiarity. Not sure if they're doing it this early though. Could have been for a specific event.

Also you are an asshole for calling people retards.

If they need to practice driving a school bus, maybe they shouldn't drive until they can do it safely.

Being unsure with children on the bus is dangerous.

....to check their timing and for familiarity.

....to check their timing and for familiarity.

....to check their timing and for familiarity.

Sometimes new drivers, sometimes old drivers on new routes, sometimes changes in routes. Geesh. It's the 10th largest school system in the country.

That's a good idea. Everybody should just skip training and start jobs without being sure of what to do. Even better idea when we involve moving vehicles weighing several times that of a regular vehicle, some of the busiest traffic in the country, and the children of Fairfax County.

So, how exactly do you propose they learn how to do it "safely", without practicing?

There should be driver training areas away from traffic where they practice driving, turning on the lights, and opening the doors.

All drivers are required to do a "dry run" of their route before school starts. That is so they can learn the run and also know if they have any turn arounds, etc. When I drove here, I always did mine in my car.

Question of the Day: As stated before, YOU ARE THE RETARD!!! They are Special Need or Special Ed students.

Only faggots ride the school bus.

Also...the should buy a simulator for training and route familiarization. No need to burn gas and assume unnecessary risks.

So it's not training to drive a bus. It's learning routes. Changes occur to them every year including staffing.

This is true

Also, drivers are assigned new/different buses. The mirrors, turning ratio, breaks, acceleration, etc are different. (When you get new car, doesn't it take you time to adjust?) Same with the bus drivers. And FCPS respects that for the safety of the children.

If they are unfamiliar with the operation of a bus, the streets of Fairfax County is hardly a place to get learn how to drive it.
