Any "Car Maintenance for Dummies" Classes?
Date: August 16, 2017 07:57PM

Are there any basic car maintenance classes in Fairfax County? Like "Car Maintenance for Dummies"? (Anything from a few hours to a couple of days.) I've got a family member who's totally clueless. And I mean totally.

There is little you can do yourself on modern cars without f'ing them up or voiding a warranty.

Learn basic troubleshooting. What a dead battery sounds like, what out of gas sounds like. Learn to do brake jobs, replacement of alternator, filters, thermostat, belts hoses. For extra points, learn how to do a engine diagnosis scan and how to replace sensors.

Long time ago when I did it and don't know whether they still do or not but but Nova and the county through it's adult continuing education program had classes at one time. It was great as a kid with a crappy car. Got to work on your own vehicle and use their lifts and tools and all of the rest of the equipment. You could do anything that you wanted as long as you could be done in about 3 hours.

BS. Dropouts and illegals can do oil and filter changes, which are the majority of services. Self-maintenance is protected under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. Don't be a sucker.

BS. All of the mechanical aspects are the same. Much of the proprietary tools and diagnostics you can get in various ways. And, no, you do not void your warranty just by you or some other third party working on your car (see Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act).

I've never taken the class, so I can't give a rating.

Learn to change a flat tire...
...so that you don't sit there blocking traffic while waiting for someone to do it for you.

CARS HAVE 20 OR MORE COMPUTERS. But their electrical diagrams are in places incorrect.

That's only one aspect of car REPAIR to factory condition.

using illegals to "throw parts until either the customer physically kills them, the customer runs out of money, or by mistake the part fixes it" ...

As far as car niggas, using spics to throw parts whenever Japan needs more part sales: suck japanese dick if you want to.
