Had there been more traffic he would have easily gotten away. Ive seen bikers take off with police chasing them and in traffic its a joke - police cannot even keep them in sight. I suspect this guy made the mistake of trying to take off on a near empty highway where the cruisers could crank it up to 130 mph - they probably loved the chase too.
He should have gotten off the highway when he realized he couldnt out run them and see if he could lose them on back roads. Or just fucking pulled over. Anyway painless death doing what he loved. im sure he will be missed and all that.

That's the main road down to Occoquan Town.The light...its a right hand "Sweeper " coming north up 123 from I-95, and theres a cement retaining wall there..he kissed the curb in the on coming lane..sweeping out too far..too fast and may not had the bike layed way over enough..showering the road with sparks..or he may have gone.." VA does not have a no-chase policy. They can and will pursue if the office believes it's safe to do so.

This stop would have resulted in the operator being taken into custody and jailed for numerous offenses related to both his legal ability to operate a motor vehicle in the state of VA and his witnessed actions on the highway.

"numerous offences" . The question is
" Are numerous traffic offenses worthy of putting the public at risk with a publicly owned 4500 pound police car running 130 mph?" As Trooper Bowen approached a Red light on a massive light pole, a older couple 60's pulled out as they had the green light and never saw him coming at extreme high speed with his blue lights on . At 110 mph he was traveling 1.83 miles a minute.. 9662 feet and in three seconds he traveled 483 feet .That's why they never saw him. He clipped there car and his trooper cruiser went sideways impacting the light pole. If you have seen cars cut in half by high speed..below 90 miles a hour they have a U shape. After 100 mph they cut clean in half and that's what happened to Trooper Bowens car, right at the windshield. The front of the car was unscathed and stopped hundreds of feet on the side of Rt 3 west, the rear and drivers front area destroyed. Trooper Bowen was killed instantly..
The reason for his insanely extreme dangerous speed without regard to innocent people lives...he was backing up a VSP undercover cop..buying a reefer joint from some pot smoke..Totally disgraceful to put the public at risk for this!
Virginia Law must be changed to prevent these types of Hi Speed police chases except in the most extreme need to stop a terrorist attack or killer gone wild.
