Thursday, July 27th 2017

Report of multiple shootings 2 blocks from Alexandria ballpark attack

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating the report of multiple shootings two blocks from Eugene Simpson Park, the baseball field where five people were injured six weeks ago, including Majority Whip Steve Scalise.

Police report the shootings are in the 400 block of Howell Ave., and have asked people to avoid the area for the time being.

This is a breaking news story and will be updated.
