I hope they select a wonderful new name for the Redneck named high school after the vote tonight. I like Barney Frank High School. Since being so close to Dc maybe Jim Graham High.... What are your thought.

It's already been decided it will be Thurgood Marshall High.
They can't just change it, they have to name it in a way that goes in the other direction - someone who fought for Civil Rights.
Meanwhile, the real problems facing FCPS education will still exist, they will still blow $$$ hand over fist.
But, the SJW's will feel good.

We wouldn't have Supreme Court Justices if we didn't steal the country from the Native Americans.
Therefore, that would make Thurgood Marshall an enabler and supporter of the bigotry and violence against the Native Americans here before our filthy traitorous early forefathers fought against them to create the nation on their land, that Thurgood Marshall so hatefully served. FCPS needs to push political correctness to it's furthest end point so as to not offend anyone.
Therefore, the school should be called Kickapoo High School, after the tribe which wandered from here to there.

True, there would be no U.S. if the Native Americans weren't dealt with. So many people cannot grasp that simple fact.
No country would even exist to let them spew their PC rhetoric.
The black and white PC libs wouldn't even exist.
The native americans might exist, but wouldn't speak English or have any semblance of a United States.
Let's just name each highschool after the indian tribe that once resided on the land on which it is built
If there is overlap, just call the school, for example, Dogue I and Dogue II, etc

The Marching Band uniforms will probably have to be replaced. Those are funded by student fees or donations. Very expensive. Tens of thousands of dollars right there. $$$$

New football and other sport uniforms. $$$$

This school is not known for having money. Lots of Free and Reduced kids. Just who is going to pay for all of this?

Bruce Cohen said he would lead the fundraising drive if they name it something he likes--something that reflects the current face of Fairfax County or something like that. I think this means it has to be named after a person of color or he won't contribute.
His video was terrible--and he is an Academy Award winner!

Not the Athletic Boosters, the President has already said that he does not have the time to reboot a new athletic program that would come with a new school name.
