Deadly Chemicals on Lawns
Posted by: Forfuckssake ()

I workout even on hot days like today. Ive noticed on really hot windless days when I go by some areas/lawns in smells like fuckers have doused their yards in agent orange or some shit. WTF are people putting on their lawns these days?

I mean I feel the cancer forming even as I hold my breath passing by these homes but these idiots are toking on the chemicals all day and night because they are drenching there yards with poison. For what? No weeds? Fucking idiots should just dig open graves in the front lawn and jump in.

Agent Orange was a defoliant used in Vietnam - Thus if it were applied on the properties you suspect, there would be no lawn or trees or bushes.

Thus you an idiot.

Yea I was leaving the neighborhood a few weeks ago and saw some mexican getting ready to spray the neighbors yard with something. Had these huge tanks full of some type of chemical. Ugh.

On my other neighbor's yard I can see the grass is burned along the street, maybe they dumped insecticide along the front edge of the yard.

Worse offenders are the co's that treat apt complexes where they blanket spray all grass areas with confront herbicide and then all the dogs get that nasal cavity cancer and it smells like burning plastic

I pay my lawn company to dump extra chemicals on my lawn. As long as it's super green, I'm happy!

You should take care of your lawn. If you don't treat for grubs you will wind up with lots of snakes and other unwanted critters in your yard. If you don't treat for weeds, all you'll have is weeds which looks terrible.

Most of what you see the lawn companies doing is reseeding, aerating, fertilizing. Yes, there is some spraying done for weeds but usually not at this time of year.

They put the chemicals on it to keep the dogs and cats from peeing and pooping on their grass.

Also effective at keeping away negro burglars. Now if they could invent one to keep away turd burglars.

in the 90's there were reports of lawn/pesticide companies using dangerous chemical run-off / by-products to get rid of them, simply slapping a "kills bugs" label

HOWEVER move forward to teens 2000, CHINESE lawn stuff (at Home Depot, Lowes) does use dangerous stuff, while Made in USA stuff is now "responsibly labeled", having known effect to soil / bleed off into water / lifespan all being municipally reasonable

it's still an up in the air market - as to whether consumers are putting chemical waste or good farming practice chemicals, on their lawns. it depends on the usa loyalty, responsibility, of the consumer?

I sincerely doubt the OP was being literal. More likely he was using hyperbole to indicate an the use of a chemical with agricultural application that has been proven to be a hazard to human and animal health.

No offense but you sir are the idiot in this scenario...

Wow what an idiot. If you dont kill grubs you will have snakes slithering all over your yard. Amazing.

I dont put shit on my yard cause wtf why spend the money to pollute the bay and kill off the few bees that are still alive. I dont really hope you get cancer but if you do you know how you got it dumbass.

Big mistake to coat the land around your home with chemicals. Why breath that shit in? Where do you think the air you breath inside your house comes from? Shit is carcinogenic.

Ha. You are hysterical. Get a grip. Grow weeds all over your yard if you want to. Let them die over the winter and allow your yard to turn into a mud pit during early spring rains. Let the ground around your home's foundation erode...I don't really care what you do.

Spot treating for weeds on a healthy lawn is not a big deal. Don't be a nutter.

To keep away mosquitoes, roaches, ants and other bugs and also to stop weeds from taking over your lawn.

I dont treat my lawn and it looks fine - collection of clover, weeds and grass. Doesnt get muddy and my site is properly graded and drained. If a 'healthy lawn' requires my family being exposed to chemicals Id rather risk a compromised lawn and healthy family. Enjoy your lawn and your time in the hospital bro

Roundup is in a good bit of the food you eat. Roundup goes hand in hand with genetically modified food. Corn, wheat and soy are the main foods to watch out for. The 5 digit code on the fruit/vegetable stickers will tell you if the item is genetically modified. If the code starts with an 8 it is a GMO. If the code starts with a 9, it is organic. If the code is 4 digits, it was grown with conventional farming methods. This is really evil stuff. Monsanto sells the genetically modified seeds and Roundup to the farmers. Once they use this combination, their farms are ruined for any other type of farming. You can thank Monsanto for the cancer.

There used to be a product all the stores sold called "COMPRO" which was sludge from blue plains water treatment plant. Used it as a top dressing for newly laid sod and had great success!

Years later they found this product had HIGH TOXIC levels of heavy metals in it.
Stopped selling it and then rebadged leaf compost as "Leafpro" which wasn't the same thing at all.

Much of the compost you buy has trace amounts of herbicide UNLESS all the compost was manufactured on site, controlling all the steps of what goes into the compost.

People who don't spray have bugs and snakes and other critters in their weedy yard. They have termites eating their house. Bugs eating their shrubs. They have bugs in their food, too.

Putting down a bug barrier around the perimeter of your home and spot spraying for weeds in a healthy lawn is not a big deal. But when your yard is a mess of weeds...you would have to do a lot more spraying. And when an infestation starts INSIDE your house you will almost inevitably be calling in exterminators to bug bomb your house.

your right that simply re-planting the whole lawn would cure the problem (for a while)

* seed is expensive but caring for a dying lawn is worse

* ignoring a dying lawn, priceless !

HOWEVER - there are no good techniques (machines) that till and plant lawns (and many lawns are riddled with several utilities maybe not as deep as they are supposed to be). existing stuff is over-price and also takes many steps (many rentals, many days).

that's the $1,000 prize there manyfold. the rental machines: aren't worth a crap and don't do the job - that's why a large portion of (fairfax, anywhere) has crappy lawns

* it does go back into the drinking water if your muni doesn't take steps to remove it

* if you have a psychopath family that has poisoned before, or there are kids who never list ... you might NOT want any stored poisons stored openly in the (garage)

I had a family of Robins living under the roof covering my deck. The kids loved watching them grow. From eggs, hatching to 4 new birds about to fledge. The neighbors had someone spraying...probably for mosquitos, weeds or around the base of the house for pests. The next day the babies were all dead. They were at least 100 feet from the house so that's scary. At least their lawn looks good.

We live in a toxic stew. Round Up was just found in Ben and Jerry's ice cream and is in Cheerios just to name a couple of common foods. Animal products are bad for you in the best of conditions, now add antibiotics because they are sick, hormones to make the them grow faster and GMO corn because it is cheap and you have the perfect recipe for cancer, heart disease, stroke and a whole host of bizarre illness. These people do not give one rat's ass about you or your kids health. Wake up and educate yourself. These fuckers want your money and then want you dead. You have to watch the fruits and vegetables too. Nothing is immune. Monsanto is destroying the one thing that can cure our diseases, food. They already have patents on many foods. This is really scary stuff, backed by the USDA and the FDA.Money talks and corn fed bullshit walks. Wish you and yours a the best.

Chem trails killed the birds not the spray - our Corporate masters would never hurt us. Those pesticides are veryvery safe.

We had a lawn service for years and we also had lots of birds (including baby robins) in our yard. We had one bird nest on the wreath of our door.

I don't know what your neighbors were spraying at their house. You should ask them. It doesn't sound like it was a normal lawn treatment.

and the 2 are totally unrelated! Things you put on your lawn or down the drain go to a magical place but not drinking water. So the people and farms in the Shenandoah that soak the land with poison are really sending it to the magic place not our drinking water.

Even if you filter ALLLLLL your water thru a RO system-you still have ALLLLLL the blood pressure meds/birth control meds/ etc that millions of people take, that gets through the membrane !

That means you're fucked!

Tour the water treatment plant in Lorton....1950's type filtration principles!
