Everything is done or not done for a reason. If they don't sweep up the dirt then that holds moisture causing the asphalt or concrete to go bad. Well then they have to resurface the roadway. More money spent when not needed. Same with potholes and bumps in the road. When Gov Kaine decided to layoff some 2000 VDOT employees they hired private contractors to replace the employees. Well, potholes and bumps have to get bas enough or deep enough before the private contrator has to fix them. I know this because I have been hitting the same bumps in the exit ramp from Edasll Rd East to 395 south. VDOT called me back to say that under this new plan it's not bad enough to make repair. But what is the long term effect to everyones suspension on their vehicle.

Yes, I noticed all of the trash and litter, so I make a few phone calls, and this is what I was told. "As we are settling thousands of refugees from third world countries in Fairfax County, it is paramount to make the new members of our community feel welcome, as comfortable as possible."

Most third world countries have abundant litter and debris, and the people are comfortable with it.

Why limit it to those who litter? We have hundreds of people who have unpaid fines they are not paying off, and thousands who receive County assistance. Put them to work picking up trash and beautifying our parks, and we could make this place significantly cleaner.
