I can assure you that the vast majority of Hispanic ESOL students are illegal. And they are NOT trying to "make a better life just like every other kid". Unfortunately these kids have no interest or desire to get an education. They come to school because the apartments they live in are depressing, they like to talk (in Spanish) with their friends all day, and they get three (3) free meals at taxpayer expense. Sadly, these kids are just marking time until they get pregnant or start working as day laborers and maids.

Please come to volunteer and observe at Springfield Estates or Key Middle School if you really want to know what is going on.

I spent a year in NYC public schools in the East Bronx. There are many Central Americans there. Finally, everybody got everything straight and the State got me into Regis. I had been at a Jesuit HS in Chicago before my parents died.

While I was there, I spent many hours with Central Americans. I had no problem with them. I made many friends. They treated me well. They did point out a couple of the maradores and just told me to leave them alone. I left them alone, they left me alone. No problem.

It did help that I can speak Spanish, even if it is with an Italian accent. Still, you don't have a lot to worry about with them.

When HS kids are getting stabbed in our parks and 14 y.o. girls getting f***ed in the bathroom by a 17 and an 18 year old, we're all affected.
