Why can't we use our woodshop/....save our wood shop
Posted by: Citizen of the fifth Tax District ()

The orininators of the Reston Community Center designated a woodshop so that cittizens of Reston could use it to do their various projects and not have to have a woodshop. But the exeucetive director and the board of directors just won't let citizens use it....much. It is open for citicens to actually use it on Tuesday nights and Saturday. But citizens are elbow to elbow in there. Why can't we use it more? Most of the time if you just wander over there the doors are closed or sometime you will see a few thespians using it for props. Why can't citizens of the fifth tax distrioct, who pay about five cents per hundred dollars of property value, more then twice as much as any other section of the county pay for theirs,...use their own wood shop?

Save the wood shop!

Let's make a u tube movie Halloween night. Everyone bring a plank of wood and come to the woodshop and knock on the door either to the shop or the Reston Comunity Center with a plank 'Night of the living dead" style.

OH NO! Whatever happened to the liberal Utopia of Reston? The usual thing when Hippies run things, mismanagement, corruption, high taxes and loads of scumbag freeloaders moving in to pray upon the "enlightened" ones. You reap what you sow, a big shit sandwich, take a big bite.

The Elite "Board of Governors" and The Execuitive Director would rather you not know about it. It's in RCC but the doors usally closed except Saturdays and Tuesday night when it's understandabally busy.

Yeah, we need Republicans in charge of everything to make things happen!

Oh wait, you say Jim Gilmore had that? And Dubya had that too?

So where was the smaller gubmint I was promised? Was that only a bill of goods designed to get angry little men to vote Republican?

What are you people, a bunch of Chinese or something?

Scrambling around for free stuff because somebody promised it for somebody or something.

Lame.

Make your own frickin' woodshop.

What the heck could any of you make in a wood shop anyway?

Huh?

I think you miss the point. In Reston years ago the citizens built a community center for which citizens continue to pay about five cents for every dollar of value every year. But the Reston Community Center has been so institutionalized that they no longer let citizens use it....very much. If they gave more hours well there would be a lot more woodworkers. Can't have that. So they just don't let citizens use it except the one day. woodworkers are a doscil lot so it just goes on and on. Here is the only place that we could say such a thing.
