About small south asian countries and products you use...
Myanmar was supposed to turn away from China and toward the West when the United States helped the Southeast Asian country make the transition to a civilian government after five decades of military rule.
The opposite is happening: The new government is failing to attract Western investment and Beijing is on a charm offensive. China is offering economic and political support and a relationship free of the human rights concerns straining Myanmar’s ties elsewhere.
Myanmar, also known as Burma, was a foreign policy success for President Barack Obama.

Yun Sun, a China expert at the Stimson Center in Washington, said Chinese policy experts even characterized it with a proverb: “The cooked duck flew out of the window.”
She said the proverb’s meaning is clear: “Myanmar was already in our pockets but somehow the Americans stole it from us.”

we cooked the duck and china took it out of the window. two can play at words games. now let's play the trade and currency deficit, the patents, lawsuits over products designed to FAIL, dumping laws, mexican relabeling, and other such games i know you like to avoid playing.

What many of you should learn is that many of the "incredible competition from China and Japan" are from labor in Malaysia and south asian countries.
Often when you see "made in china, made in Japan" the parts are all not made in either country: they are exporting their imports and relabeling them and sending them on to ports in California.
they took use of many USA patents without paying, import allot of raw material and pay off with "value added products" that are designed to fail.
certainly they somehow (got loans) to start new businesses even factories while Americans were told "there's no money it's not possible" - because of all of the incredible inflation from overseas and pressures that USA "stop winning so much"
think of china like this ...
are the products really from china or japan? china is a huge ancient trade route for the whole eastern board of europe. trains of goods come into china from all directions IN ADDTION to what china actually produces.
