Nicdoot and Guest, thank you for the compliments. So many times with the pictures, I just get lucky.
That's one of the nice things about digital cameras, I don't have to worry about wasting film, like in the old days. I usually have the camera on Continuous Shoot, and snap a burst of 10 or 20 pictures at a time. A good part of them don't really come out so well, but I can usually get a couple decent ones. Then delete the rest.
I did have to prop the window open a little, then aim the camera through there, just so I didn't get distortion from the window, all the time the morning cold air pouring in.
I guess I could post a cropped version of the broken antler. This is from when he walked up toward the house, but was still looking away. Before he heard the sound of the camera clicking, and looked toward the sound (me). Full size, but cropped.
