Fairfax County Board Ignoring Gridlock Traffic and Allowing Builder to Over Populate for Profit

Somebody needs to look into who is paying off Fairfax county board members to approve all these high rises and sky scrapers WITHOUT ANY ROAD IMPROVEMENTS.

The board is going to turn Fairfax county to a ghetto of gridlocked traffic where gangs roam and panhandlers stand on the corner of every intersection.

The Master Plan shows that these structures are to be built in "pedestrian communities".

Kinda like RTC, where so many pedestrians drive, that they needed to build parking garages and then start collecting parling fees.

RT 7 is a massive clusterphuck. New construction of high-density occupancy must be lining someone's pocket.

This represents the kind of idiocy that prevails among many planners. The location is intended to be part of a "pedestrian community" so we don't need to provide for parking or for additional demands on the road network...except they don't take into consideration all the deliveries and service calls to the location, all the people from other areas who might be coming to visit those in the building and the fact that in five years people living there may see their jobs move so they will again need to rely on auto transportation. The location is being marketed to singles and working couples so we don't need to provide for additional schools...except that those same people may in a few years be having kids.

The powers that be told us the people living in the condos next to the Vienna Metro wouldn't need cars because they can walk to the Metro. Bullshit! When I drive by on a Saturday morning I notice they have just as many cars as any other condo parking lot. Somebody had their head up their ass.

Who on which board is getting money to say 'YES'??

Common sense would seem to dictate a 'No' vote on these projects.

I COMPLETELY AGREE! This bullshit of "Well it near a Metro so nobody living there will have a car" it the biggest crock of crap ever brewed up by the board.

The FFX county board has the living close the Metro the worst place live in Fairfax county because the parking and traffic is unbearable.

I support and am indeed am a proponent of increased density and high rises along the Toll Road; including redevelopment of existing low rises on either side of the Toll Road.

Welcome NOVA into the 21st Century: bring the vibrancy of Manhattan, NY to Tysons, Reston and onward to Dulles Airport area!
