Business experts have been proclaiming the death of malls. Yet for some reason the financial wizards at Springfield Mall decided to dump millions into Springfield Town Center. The almost empty mall speaks for itself.
Income demographics for the area around the mall do not support such an investment plus the difficulty of entering and exiting roadways do not help.
If there were awards for poor business decisions this would def be in the running.

I love nostalga - I played at Time Out, ran into JC Penney to buy Atari 2600 cartridges and drank at Orange Julius. But times change and the Mall is objectively much nicer now than back in the day.

Does anyone else remember waiting over an hour in a line to buy a ticket for the latest blockbuster, then having to wait in another (often longerr) line outside the building before they'd let you in to the theater. Poltergeist and ET were a couple of movies I did this for. You had to get there like 2 or 3 hrs before the starting time to see a movie. I remember a few times they sold out before I got to the ticket counter. Multiplexes definitely fixed this problem.

All the asian women I've met in this area are fat. I think they are from nicaragua or el salvador because of the size but they are really from Vietnam, Indonesia or Laos. They are just really big. And the ones that are skinny are skinny fat and smell like garlic.

All the asian women I've met in this area are fat. I think they are from nicaragua or el salvador because of the size but they are really from Vietnam, Indonesia or Laos. They are just really big. And the ones that are skinny are skinny fat and smell like garlic.

And the back slide begins. Several upscale stores will be closing at Springfield Town Center the next couple of weeks. J Crew will be closing January 14, Michael Kors in early Feb and others to follow. Seems they can't compete with Target, JCP and 5 Below!
