Guys trying to sell you Home Theater System from a Van
Posted by: Dudeperfect007 ()

There are a couple of scammers trying to sell a home theater system from a white van with Maryland plates.
Don't fall for it. They are useless speakers.
They tell you they are dumping them if you don't buy them.

Old scam. They imply that you're getting the deal of a lifetime because the stuff is stolen. What's really happening is, its cheap junk. If you fall for that, you deserve it, because you think you're buying stolen property. Which btw is a crime (receiving stolen property).

Never heard of this insinuation and in the three times in my life I've been an attempted target of this scam they always make it sound like they have excess they can't return or are stuck with and need to unload.

One time I legitimately had a restaurant gift card for $20 (with proof of the value in my hand) and I was trying to sell it inside the actual restaurant for just $10 and there were no takers. I did not feel like eating there. I was in a rush.

I even offered to people as they were walking into the restaurant. I offered it to a family of 4. Still no takers.

What a bunch of idiots.

Not everything is a scam.

Sometimes there are deals out there.

Pro tip...avoid buying anything "sold" out of the back of a van.

Its refreshing that you are so unaware. No sarcasm, I bet I would like you.

"I have excess I can't return" and "I'm stuck with this and need to unload" are code for, "You're getting the deal of a lifetime because this stuff is stolen."

Not stolen, over stock and they claim it's cheaper to sell it to you at a discount than dealing with returning to retailer. They never tell you it's stolen, altho it most likely is.

It's so cute that you think you understand how this works.

It's just extremely cheap shit that they bought for next to nothing.

They want you to think it's stolen.

Jesus, just google "white van speaker scam" and you can maybe finally understand what's going on.

It's not stolen though.. it's just cheap piece of shit equipment they pretend costs $500 but will sell to you for $100. It's only worth like $15. This is why I think it's funny people are saying they are insinuating it's stolen. They aren't doing that at all. The equipment isn't stolen and they aren't giving the impression it is... where is this magical leap people are making coming from?

WHAT HAPPENS: guys claim this sweet equipment cant go back and they are stuck with ti and need to unload

ACTUAL: piece of shit equipment is worth nothing and people are trying to scam you into over paying

FFXU INTERPRETATION: Dudez are totez trying to make it sounds like this awesome equipment they have never heard of is stolen.. because so many people like to buy stolen equipment ..which is illegal... right...

Have at least half a brain. You don't buy groceries in the Best Buy parking lot. So don't buy speakers in the Safeway parking lot.
