Westwood Country Club

So what gives with Westwood Country Club in Vienna? Went to a fairly formal big sit-down banquet there last night (about 200). They had very minimal staff. It took 20+ minutes to serve everybody. They actually got up and started awards presentations and several tables still had not been served but this could not go on all night. Many tables were done eating and others had not even received their dinners. Saw one person get up not just once but twice and physically hunt down a staff member for more salad dressing because nobody was making rounds on the tables. It took 15 minutes to get more. When you have a big function like this you need lots of kitchen and wait staff to churn out the dinners and serve people properly.

This is not what I would have expected at a country club.

How long do you thing it should take to serve 200 people?

(20 minutes)(60 seconds) = 1200 seconds. 1200 seconds/200 people is one person every 6 seconds.

You want your food served on the platter or on your fucking lap?

Uh, no. Just a couple of people here who have been to a lot of nice sit-down banquets and know that you should not have to hunt somebody down in the kitchen for more salad dressing at these kinds of things, and the goal is to be very organized in serving up.

Calling BS. You didn't chase anyone for salad dressing.

If so, probably passed or could'd keep waiting, you know, had 200 people in attendance.

And no we are not snotty stuck up pricks.
When you go to something like this at a country club, you kind of expect good service.
Don't want to hear about "all the starving people in America and you are complaining about no salad dressing and shitty service". If we wanted no service and those people didn't want salad dressing there was a cheaper venue available I am sure.

I had never seen anything like this.

Well then, I recommend Morton's Steakhouse for your next gathering.

It will probably cost you a bit more. However, service and food will be superb. And you will need to tip. To insure proper service.
