According to my mom Apparently there was a story on the local news channels today about three young kids 18-23 who were breaking into cars, and one of the owners of a house heard and came out with a bowie knife and detained one of the kids until the police could show up, and now they're all arrested?

I was wondering if anyone else saw this story and can link me to the site where I can watch the story or read about it...

18 - 23 year old are adults, and qualify for the "Big People's Jail"

Wait a minute? A suspect can be detained without using a gun? How is that possible.

I caught a guy looking in car windows in our neighborhood. I "subdued" him using duct tape and put him in the back of my neighbor's pick-up truck. They found him about 12 hours later, crying in the back of the truck. He actually told my neighbor what happened. My neighbor laughed in his face and told him to never come into our neighborhood again. They guy said that he wouldn't and he left.

might have been worth a 30 minute drive out into the country and drop him off in a field somewhere so he has to walk home.

Virginia is not a stand your ground state and you CANNOT protect property in VA with deadly force.

That would got the homeowner a shit load of charges in VA and in Fairfax county.

No, he didn't live in the neighborhood. I never saw him before or after that night. I'm sure he was there looking to steal stuff.
