WASHINGTON — A portion of Sycolin Road has been closed after a small aircraft crash-landed at the edge of the Leesburg Executive Airport property in Virginia Saturday morning.
The road was closed in both directions between Shreve Mill Road and Battlefield Parkway as of 10:55 a.m. for the investigation.
The plane went down near 19976 Sycolin Road around 9:15 a.m., officials said.
Virginia State Police said a Cessna aircraft was attempting a hard landing when it skidded off the runway and into a nearby field, according to NBC Washington.
Loudoun County Fire said there were no injuries.
Despite the rough landing, there were no hazards, fire or fuel leaks. The Federal Aviation Administration was informed of the accident, NBC Washington reported.
