Loudoun Co. middle school teacher arrested for DUI and alcohol possession at school

LOUDOUN CO., Va. (ABC7) —
Loudoun Co. Police say a teacher was arrested Friday morning for DUI and for having an open container of alcohol inside Sterling Middle School.
Police say a school resource officer was notified at 8:40 a.m. that Megan Debo. 29 may be intoxicated.
An investigation revealed she had driven to school and had alcohol with her on school property.
Debo was charged with DUI and possesing or drinking alcohol in a public school during school hours.
She is being held at the Loudoun Co. Adult Detention Center on $2000 bond.
Loudoun Co. School has a history of incidents with drunk teachers in recent years, dating back to June and November 2011.
The most recent case was in May 2014.

After hearing from a friend what it's like to teach middle school to Salvadorean hellions I totally sympathize with her.

You think that's bad, you should see the opioids been exchanged during lunch at Stone Ridge.

They didn't see her driving, assuming she kept her mouth shut that will be an easy one to drop.

I am surprised the magistrate would issue for DUI. No driving behavior and no possible way to check the BAC level. Perhaps she made statement against interest but that's really not going to be admissible since she was impaired when she made it.

Alcoholism is a protected Federal disability per the ADA.

Can they charge you with DWI in Virginia if they don't see you driving it? In many states, they can't. The one catch is keys in the ignition. I've had a couple of people who'd know tell me if you're drunk and get into an accident, take the keys out of the ignition and get out of the car. When the popo show up, they'll see no keys and nobody in the driver's seat so they didn't see you drive the car.

This is quite true, and I know from personal experience. I wrecked my car by driving it off of the road, and into a group of small trees. The car was totaled, and so was I.

I drank the better part of a fifth of Jack Black 90 proof, so my BAC was well over .10

I was lucky enough to avoid injury because for some reason I was wearing my seat belt, and as I climbed out of the car I grabbed my car keys out of the ignition.

The cops didn't arrest me, or even give me a ticket. because they couldn't place me in the car.

Ya, I think if these f'ing kids get to you that much maybe just move to South Dakota or something and teach there. It is not worth ruining your life to try to teach these f'ing immigrants shit they will never learn.

She'll be rolling through one of the nearby AA meetings shortly. Lots of DUI cases head to AA in advance of their court date. I usually get asked to sign their witness sheets their lawyers give them. I'd say less than one in 15 or 20 ever stay in the program.

If Ur a hardcore stone alky you start drinking as soon as U wake up. U 1/2-2 or U get sick & U can't keep Ur hands still.

My guess is that she was up all night drinking and probably doing coke so she tried to drink her way through the day. Never works out well.
