Reston Police District – Detectives from the Crash Reconstruction Unit are investigating an incident that was reported to us around 9 last evening. A 1993 Mazda 626 was found slightly down an embankment along eastbound Hiddenbrook Drive just prior to Dranesville Road. 30-year-old Cory Lee Boback of Sterling was found unconscious and unresponsive behind the wheel. Fairfax County Fire and Rescue personnel took Boback to Reston Hospital in life-threatening condition. He was pronounced dead a short time later.

The preliminary investigation suggests that the Mazda was stopped at the light on Hiddenbrook Drive and Dranesville Road. For reasons yet to be determined, Boback may have passed out and the car rolled backwards, down the embankment, then off the road. Without striking anything.

Speed is not factor.

The incident is still under investigation.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy and ultimately determine the cause and manner of death.

not the guy that died, but his father. recognized the last name, its unique, only ever met one boback in my life.

if the departed's father used to work at the aamco in ffx city next to autothority, then i do in fact know who he is, actually met the kid when he was a kid close to 30 years ago.
