Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
WTOP has been running a series of these polls for the past few months. I sorta stopped following them when Carraba's got nominations for best Italian restaurant, and the Outback (lmao) for best steak house.
The top 10 restaurants in WTOP's Best Wings poll are the following:
Buffalo Wild Wings
Buffalo Wing Factory & Pub
Glory Days Grill
Hard Times Café
Hooters
K2 Restaurant and Lounge
Ledo Pizza
Outta the Way Café
Wingstop
WOW Café and Wingery
These choices suck bawlz
famous daves wings FTW!!!!

buffalo wing factory in the lead? they have some of the smallest wings i've ever seen.
no velocity five? no chics n wings?
how did ledo pizza even make the list? i've never had their wings, and i never will, since they specialize in PIZZA and it tastes like cardboard with red marker and crayon shavings.

The last time i ate there (and last time i ever will) the steak was so stringy it was inedible. The manager's solution? "Honey, just take it home and microwave it, that should make it softer." I didn't pay the check and walked out with a free dessert, but it was still a waste of my time.

It received nominations and made the ballot for Best Steak, but it wasn't the winner. It got alot of votes though.
I agree too, the place sucks. I get stuck going there because a family member has a wheat allergy and Outback is one of the few restaurants offering a gluten-free menu, otherwise I'd never set foot in one.

Well, "decent" is relative. I don't get too crazy about chicken wings, so decent will do for me. That's why I seek out the Buffalo Wing Factory, the home of Decent Chicken Wings. "When only decent will do."

Wow it looks like the only people who acctually care about this stupid pole, are the losers that work for BWF. There is no way that they would win an actual pole...hmmm someone must be click happy today. I bet the service sucks there today, because the managers are in the office refreshing the page over and over and over
Way to prove your point by calling the poster "sooooooooo Gay." $40 says you just beat off to the hooters pic posted above...and you're on your second round as I type this.

My guess is somehow Ledo's will win.. Just like they won the best pizza? come on are you serious??? They are good but not that good, i've had better. They have to make sure they get the "Ledo Pizza Glass Enclosed Nerve Center" still hooked up.

I don't remember the restaurant wings being like that, but the frozen Hooters wings you can buy at the store are god-awful vinegary. Yuck, they're nearly inedible. Stay away.
The Bertucci's in Springfield has been there for years and is always doing good business; both eat-in and carry-out. I would be very surprised if they go out of business.

Really? I went to Ruth's Chris in Crystal City for my anniversary once.
The fluorescent lighting was terrible, they cooked my steak wrong, it had plenty of gristle, and it cost 2x what it would've cost at Outback.
I guess it soured me on 'high-end' steakhouses, and I've always heard Morton's is overrated.
OTOH, "Put it in the microwave" is something you'd expect to hear at Barney's Bargain Diner, not even a place on the Outback level.

I'm actually a fan of steakhouse chain restaurants. It's a guilty pleasure of mine, something I always liked since I was a kid. Lone Star, Logan's Roadhouse, Long Horn.... the kinda place where you can spend 20 bucks and get a decent steak, salad, and potato. I like it. I just think the Outback is the worst of them (well, one of the worst, IMO)
That being said, I'm not really a fan of the high-end steak joints. Usually they're fantastic, but if I'm going to be spending 60 or 70 bucks on a meal, I'd rather go someplace that serves something that I can't just make on my grill.
