I hear fairfax has an undercover cherrypicker and an undercover tow truck as well.
Come on guys, lets make this a scavenger hunt and get a picture of every car on the list.
* Not actually a Chevy Lumina, that was my mistake. It was some older Chevy sedan with the tail lights separated into 3 parts, like the mustang lights.. except even uglier.
I'm *still* trying to figure out what the model name is.
I'm just wondering what they would do if you just walked into their lot and started snapping pictures. I'm sure i would be breaking some "law" of theirs.

Saw the mustang Saturday night on 29 near Costco. Well it was more like a blur resembling a mustang, the guy was going so dangerously fast. A fleet of cops were heading down West Ox Rd to take care of something, and it didn't look like anything was going to get in their way.

I saw the mustang saturday night at around 10 at Tower Records with some kid pulled over,
and then sunday I saw a really wierd one.. a black convertible that looked kinda like a miata from afar, donut swapping in a 495 median with a marked car...
Okay, on further research it WAS a lumina I saw pulling over a 350Z on Waples Mill. For some reason when I did a search, it turned up a bunch of minivans???
For the most part, the F150s, 350s excursions, explorers, Dodge Ram etc, are take home vehicles assigned to higher level officers, and officers on special assignments, like bomb squad, detectives, narcotics, crime scene processors, etc.
The 325i isn't usually used on the street. It's not a safe police car because it's a convertable - that not to say that officer's won't take it out every now and then when their Lt.'s aren't looking.
As for the other cars, can't confirm nor deny them, simply because I don't know any specifics about them.
Oh, and there's no such thing as a "Chevy Crown Vic" it's Ford. :)
As FCPD Employee wrote the trucks and bigger SUVs are usually take home vehicles - in fact a good amount of them are designated for the Sheriff or the K-9 Officers. As far as the other sedans not too many of them are used for typical patrol - the camaro and mustang are the only ones used on a regular basis (according to my brother who is a FC Police Officer).
The vans (new and old styles) as well as some pick-up trucks are operated by the Office of the Fire Marshall. Fire investigators (who are also cops - which explains why they have blue rather than red lights), drive old and new style vans and even a few Chevy Silverados 24-7...
when I was in high school freshman or sophmore year someone blew off a cherry bomb in one of the bathrooms, it really did classic damage, and they sent the fire marshall in to do the actual arrest of the kid. But they just loaded him into a ffx county police car. I wonder if the fire marshall vans are built to hold detainnees.
There's a movie with ray liotta called point of origin where he plays a fire invesigator, and he's much more of a cop in the movie than a fireman. maybe that reflects reality.

Good movie, great actor. I think it was an HBO original?
saw a black tinted out jeep cherokee on 28 south near westfields tonight, had a couple of blue lights in its grill. there is a police academy up around there.
Interesting how many (and which) vehicles they have. I'm trying to think of all the ones I've seen. Malibu, Lumina, Caprice, Impala, Durango, and Intrepid. Of course, there's the Crown Vics. I've seen a bunch of Tahoes and other SUVs on Rt. 66, along with the Camaro. It blew my mind when I saw the Camaro for the first time, it'd be wild to see the Dodge Viper. If I'm not mistaken, I think I've also seen a Chevy Cavalier.
That BMW's cool...as much as I hate to say it, that's a tight paintjob.
Don't forget to add their paddywagons to the list (though they're hardly undercover). I don't know the make/model truck they are.
Is them spending all that money on those POS cars even legal? I mean, if they are gonna waste money they might as well buy the only good Chevrolet's-Corvettes
