Who is "anti-science" now? Anyone questioning "climate change" is shouted down as being "anti-science" and their careers threatened, all because they don't place much faith in a certain set of data and are persuaded of the correctness of other data. After all, one set might be flawed and others not so much. There's room for legitimate debate.

But if you believe that men can become women, or vice versa, you somehow should escape that label? What science can be cited to establish this claim of being "transgendered"?

There is no science behind the notion that "gender"--what used to be called one's "sex"--is changeable. None whatsoever. When someone truly believes they are Napoleon, or Jesus, or George Washington, they are considered--and rightly so--as mentally and/or emotionally unstable, or suffering delusions. And for good reason: they aren't those people, and there's pretty good proof of that.

And so today, we have about .3% of the population--about 700,000 people all together--who have an abiding sense that they are not really the sex their birth certificate (and the qualified physician who filled it out) claims they are.

But the reality is they are not the opposite sex; they are, in fact, disturbed people. Not dangerously so, but disturbed nonetheless. They have some emotional or wiring glitch that has convinced them of this, perhaps even from a young age.

But facts do not care about your feelings. They are still facts. And those who feel different about themselves than their body tells them is so should not be able to compel the rest of us to agree with them, and they should not demand that laws reflect their delusions.

If you were born with a penis, you're male--no matter how you feel about it. If you weren't, you're a female--no matter how you feel about it. If you were born to Asian parents, you're Asian; to black parents, you're black; to white parents, you're white. And if your parents were human beings, you're whatever sex you were when conceived. It's fixed, forever. Period. Sorry if you've been told otherwise.

And we are all bonded by our love of fresh, fried fish provided by Arthur Treacher's. Something we can all agree on regardless of race, gender, ethnicity or nationality.

Again with the "feelings." All people have feelings, but feelings don't dictate truth. I might "feel" as though my child is a genius, but if there's no evidence of that, he's not. My wife might "feel" I'm cheating on her, but if I'm not, her "feelings" are without foundation.

Aren't we all "allowed" to feel these things, and more? Sure. Feel away. Knock yourself out. But no one has the right to make the rest of society kowtow to your feelings. Suppose I "feel" I'm entitled to have you support me. Are you obligated to do so? No, even if that's "who I am." I'll have to just do without your stuff.

People also believed a black dope smoker could grow up to be an adequate President. Wrong again. Common sense and American values win in the long run.

Transgenderism is a imbalance in the brain where someone's brain makes the wrong chemicals and the way to make themselves feel right is transition. That's the truth. Children should not transition only adults should.

OP is absolutely spot on target. Language labels are but one tool that the statist use to control others.

Similarly, there is no such thing as "gay, lesbian, or bi". These are false labels applied to one thing - people who perform a homosexual act. They are not life style choices, they are but ordinary people that commit a perverted sexual act. But, again this is fact. One may feel diiferently.

How do you explain hermaphrodites OP? It is possible for males with the XY chromosome pair to be born with female appearing genitalia because of defects in the Y chromosome. A missing X chromosome can result in a person with a female like appearance but with no female reproductive organs. There are also people whose endocrine system are out of whack, so that a XX chromosome woman might end up with disproportionately high levels of testosterone or an XY chromosome man might end up with disproportionately high levels of estrogen. As with other animals human males that are castrated early in life develop differently than males who are uncastrated or are castrated later in life.

Only simple minds expect the world to neatly fall into simple categories.

That's a fair question, and the answer is: those born with birth anomalies and who develop chemical imbalances in their bodies are well noted. They are extremely rare and can be treated medically in many cases. But "transgendered" is not any of that; it's a self-declaration, not a demonstrable medical condition. People born with a club foot or poorly functioning lungs don't lobby to have government change laws to accommodate them; they get medical help. And we don't have people with such conditions forming political pressure groups.

I'm curious how women would feel when someone like Shane Ortega is forced to use the female restrooms and locker rooms?
