Why not? He can't go to any good parties until he's in college. Let him live a little.

I would let him do it. Eventually he might see that it suppresses his abilities and give it up or, at the very least, cut back on it. It's a live and let learn world. Let him live it up and learn.

warn him about alcohol, tobacco and especially prescription drugs. There is some evidence pot use in teens may be damaging but I have a hard time believing any propaganda against pot at this point. They have had 80 years to prove harm and have come up with 'gateway drug' They incorrectly teach kids its addictive, that has not been proven.

Beat his ass if you don't want him to do it. Warn him about it and other shit if you don't care. Simple.

Signs of good parenting:

You require the advice on a known obnoxious internet forum on how to deal with your kid.

I'm sure like Johnny is going to turn out great.

Better pot than heroin.

$20 of pot lasts for a good 3-4 days with a decent vape used in moderation (before/after work/school not during LOL). Add $5 for taco bell. That's about it. My only concern would be that they use a vape vs blunt, too much tobacco mess in their lungs. Or edibles.

$20 of heroin lasts maybe 6 hours. Once fully addicted, one hour. Won't take long before all your jewelry and fine china and electronics are missing. Then the neighbor's house gets hit too. There's also a lot of fentanyl (sp?) killing people these days.

Your call-

Oh yes forgot to mention to not let them drive with it, Unfairfax County loves to get teens on weed possession, especially in the parks since that is where most teens go to smoke and hide.

Make 'em ride their bike if they want it so bad. Easier to get away. "Am I being detained" "I refuse to consent to this search (when driving a car)" etc should also be in their vocabulary.

If you are bothered by him smoking a little weed, just wait until you find out he is wearing his mother's underwear, and sucks dicks like a milking machine.

1 in 30 FCPS high school students admit smoking pot at least once a month, and the graduation rate at all high schools is better than 90%, so it's likely not going to be a big deal.

Unless he gets caught by the popo. Then its' a big deal. But if people didn't break the law now and then we would not need laws.

If you want him to end up a loser and living in your basement till he's 50, sure let him toke up. If you want a life of your own and him off your payroll by age 25, then stop him.

I would show him some hard working folks who don't abuse the pot or alcohol. For example, you could take him down to Arthur Treacher's so he could see the hard working folks who operate the fryer or clean the bathrooms. Those people don't do drugs and it shows in the quality of their work (and the quality of the fish!).

Unfortunately, young people do not know how to get divorced without alcohol and drugs. This is an addiction that needs to be treated.

I know some 16-17 year old kids that smoke weed. And their parents let them. The parents also let them sit on the fucking couch all weekend, play video games, do average in school, not play sports, and maintain their addiction to social media.

Just because others do it doesn't make it right.

While your kids are doing nothing with their lives, kids in China are crushing it. Those kids will be applying to the same colleges as your 16 year old. In a year or so, don't come back on here and cry about your kid getting their ass handed to them by Asians. Competition may have become a forgotten thing in the US with the "trophy for everyone" mentality, but this bears no resemblance to reality with the rest of the world taking over the US one smart kid at a time.

Have a nice day.

I completely agree with you. Kids develop in the wrong direction, and then they cry that they have no money and life sucks!

I knew kids who smoked pot, sat on the couch and accomplished nothing. I also knew kids who smoked pot, went out, had active social lives, had jobs, played sports and went on to be great successes. Fuck ups who smoke pot will continue to be fuck ups. Successes who smoke pot will continue to succeed. Take your neo-temperance bull shit and shove it up your ass.

Have a nice day
