Can someone please tell me if anyone even cares anymore about all the illegal immigrants exploiting our country? Look i am not racist just more concerned. I don't care if you come here the right way and get a job and pay taxes as well, i am all for it. What i do not understand is why the police, nor the INS even seem to care about the illegal immigrants anymore. I know this because i have called a few times about the situations in the area both gang and illegal immigrants. I know that they are illegal because i know them, as well as i know who employed them. Lets be fairly honest, Obama says free healthcare will help fix our economy. I personally don't see how cause the money has to come from somewhere. Has anyone been to the giant, safeway, most anywhere there is a bank and a western union on a friday night. I have seen tens of thousands of dollars leave our country. Gee, maybe that is a slight problem with our economy. Is there anything that we can do anymore about making our county, area, homes, a safer cleaner better place to live?

The restaurant is Clyde's in Reston. The gentlemans name is Oswaldo Gallegos, and he works in the back of the kitchen. As well as numerous people are employed at Dobb's at IAD, I can name more but what good would it do. I have called people and it comes across as they are too busy to care.

People should note that "Illegal Immigrant" is a status, NOT a race, and therefore being against it does not make someone a "Racist", no matter their diatribe.

Btw, note the word "Illegal", which refers to "One who breaks the Law" in this case. If you are against Criminals, then you by default ought to be against "Illegal" Immigrants as well.

No more blanket amnesties of illegal immigrants. Just give citenzship to the spouses and kids of the people that got amnesty in the last immigration reform and are still waiting for the family-based green card because of the low quotas.

seriously though, the only thing that upsets me about the whole immigration deal. is when people apply for citizenship and they are in limbo, and the only reason they are caught and deported was because they were in the system and immigration knew about them. i think that is fucked up.

Of course there are things that can be done to move them on to more friendly counties/states - E-Verify.

They are here for the jobs and the perks - when those incentives are removed, so is their reason to stay.

Nearly everyone on the Board of Supervisors blocked every measure to bring E-Verify and 287(g) to the county, and they were all re-elected. Our beloved Connolly is currently working tirelessly with Moran and Webb to grant yet another amnesty so we can way for another wave of illegals to keep the wages depressed.

Playing devil's advocate, a little more than a decade ago, the mass migration of illegals began. Since then there have been several amnesties - because Congress refused to enforce our laws, and didn't know what to do each time the number of illegals became overwhelming.

AND ... if you do the math, it was within this time frame that health care started to take a nose dive and became progressively worse.

Does anyone remember an outcry by the masses about greedy doctors and insurance companies 15 years ago?

No kidding it isn't popular amongst Hispanics. There has not been a single viable charge of profiling against any officer in regards to the immigration policy. And those stats only prove my point. Illegals who do commit a crime are not likely out to rape or murder (but they do get drunk and fight or steal things to sell for money) If you just robbed a bank and were making your get-a-way, you wouldn't stop to call the police if you saw a person being assaulted right? Yes that is an extreme example, but they are here illegally and should be hesitant to call the police. If they are legal, what do they have to be afraid of? I know things will never change around here. It will most likely get worse. I grew up here and actually care about my state and country. There are too many transplants and "blow-and-goes" (people who come here to work for a few years then move on) in this area to stand up and do anything about it.

The war on drugs ? theres a start... um the war on terrorism... theres another. The battle on immigration has been lost, its out of control. Pandoras Box has been opened and cant be shut at this point. We need to find a logical solution to stop the problem before it becomes worse, but then again, there probably is no solution. I myself am a fan of good ole fashioned xenophobia as much as the next guy, but we need to be realistic here.

We "ignore" fucked up shit in this country every day... whats one more thing to add to the list. Maybe if we stop spending billions each month on bullshit wars and pork barrel spending, then i can get on board again with the illegal immigration shit. Im so far gone Ive even given up on apathy.

The battle on immigration has NOT been lost - however the battle with the politicians to do their job may be on a slippery slope.

Politicians REFUSE to implement the tools that prevent illegal aliens from getting work and receiving benefits. Even McDonnel is backing away from implementing E-Verify in the Commonwealth for fear it will "offend" the small businesses that rely on the cheap labor - and his strongest financial supporters.

There is a logical solution to stop the problem. We just need to find the politicans who have financial bakers other than the unions, businesses and chambers.

Because politicians value over all else, retaining their seat, or winning a seat in the "political process," they won't upset the campaign cart by venturing into this area. Statistics are sketchy at best as to how much tax funded money is spent to subsidize illegal aliens and their children, or how many tax dollars are lost by looking the other way when business hire them through contractors or under the table.

If there were half as much "transparency" regarding tax dollars spend for illegal aliens and their children as there is with Iraq and Afghanistan, I believe apathy would be pushed aside. But as long as the figures are hidden, apathy is as good a cop out as any.

The next time you travel past some of the Stimulus funded projects (road and metro) work going on in Northern VA, check out the work crew. To presume Americans would not do this work is absurd - during the 80s boom, those jobs were held by men who traveled from PA, WV and the Carolinas. Of course, they were paying more than $5/hour.
