123, Fairfax county parkway have left turns, so some people need to get in the left lane.

if I am driving in the right lane and come upon slower traffic and I move into the left lane, and I am passing a vehicle in the right hand lane. once I get past the slow moving vehicle on the right I will move back over to the right.

if you flash your lights, honk your horn or tailgate me. it sure as fuck will not make me move any faster.

all that being said. I camp out in the right lane doing speed limit +5 to +8.

and on roads like route 50 or 28 or fairfax county pkwy and folks go speeding by and I catch up to them at at the next traffic light. its funny as shit its even better when they are stopped and I catch the green light and time it right so I go past them and they have to pass me again. it makes my day.

I stay in the right lane to let speeders pass, but even if the middle and left lane is clear, idiots will tailgate for miles. Tailgatettards!

I see this every single morning on 28 South as I'm headed to work. Every. Single. Morning. And it is always, ALWAYS, a foreign driver. Slow ass idiots just cruising along at 55mph, while people fly up on their ass, flash their high-beams, and the idiot just continues poking along in the left lane in their ladder truck or maid service toyota.

Now, I pass on the right and just "NOVA divebomb" back and forth between the left and right lanes as necessary. I pass lots more vehicles on the right around here now than the left.

It's been like this the last few years and it's the only way to pass and move through traffic here. Until the cops start doing something about it, just pass on the right and cut everyone off. Nobody gives a fuck.

It is drivers like you Herbie that make the problem worse. Most of those in the left lane are there because they are moving faster than cars in the lane to the right. They will move over and let others pass them on the left if they can do so safely and without having to slow down. By cutting around to the right you are taking away space those driving in the left may feel they need to move over and let you pass. It is also conditioning drivers to think others following them will do the same as you. As a result those relatively faster but not as fast as you drivers are looking for longer breaks before they move over.

Than you will have no issues when peop0le run you off the road.

I have read with much interest the comments listed on this board. I am a 25 year old white male and I support democrats. I find that democrats best represent the interests of others and are the only people who truly care about the well being of others, particularly those less fortunate than us.

I am guilty of white privilege. I understand that I have been given many gifts, more so than those less fortunate or less wealthy than I. I feel that it is all of our responsibility to not only give financially to help these people in the form of higher taxes and other entitlements, but also to show them the right way to live.

In learning the right way to live, i feel it is also my responsibility to teach other the right way to drive. We spend an increasing amount of time on dangerous highways and many of us drive without regard for others. I set the example and drive exclusively in the left lane and always at the exact posted speed limit. No more, no less.

I read some comments that people such as me should no police others. Nonsense. That would be like saying I should turn a blind eye to racism, or I should not give a dollar to that poor beaner standing on the side of the road with that brown sign.

It is my job to make sure order is kept in society. I do this by setting an example on the road. If I am on Fairfax County parkway for instance, and a car in the right lane is going 45, I will also lower my speed in the left lane to 45, in order to keep everyone safe and prevent people from whipping around that person being extra cautious in the right lane.

Seriously, why do you need to drive so fast? Speed kills. Please be safe NEVER exceed the speed limit. If you do, you are probably a dirty nigger.

Wrong. As I said earlier, it is people who care about America - both young and old who do the right thing on the road every day. Go ahead and persecute us. We will always stand for what is right and just.

I drive at the speed limit in the left lane because CNN told me it was smarter to be on the left than to be on the right so I went there. Then MSNBC told me to lean forward so I leaned the brake pedal forward. I am now a member of the liberal elite intelligencia and I have better feels now. Write to your representative in congress to implore them to abolish Virginia's draconian traffic laws. finding someone guilty of a misdemeanor for speeding or "reckless" driving should be deemed cruel and unusual punishment. Nope. I wait and watch a bit before making the move. If the left lane asshole isn't making any progress after adequate opportunities, I make the move. It's always either a foreigner or one of the shitstains that has posted above.

I-395 South at Duke Street...and it has the added bonus of the merge RIGHT before the exit ramp and the traffic merging from the on-ramp.

On multi-lane interstates, the left lane should be designated 75 mph. The middle lane should be 65 mph. And the right lane with the exits and merge-on lanes and trucks should be 55 mph.

I'm a left lane hawk. I am not 65, but 34, so there goes that theory.

People, you need to realize that speed is a problem, especially in Fairfax County. If the police won't take steps to slow things down, I will and do.

Nope, your "little contribution" costs lives, in two ways:
1) Studies have repeatedly shown that left-lane bandits cause accidents
2) Slowing people down wastes their time

Who is wasting people's time? The person in the left lane who is driving faster than the traffic to the right but who is going slower than the person behind him wants to go? Or the driver in the left lane who wants the drivers in front of him to move over so he can pass, even though doing so would mean those drivers would have to slow down? Either way SOMEBODY is going to be going slower than he wants.

Driving in NoVa isn't like driving out in the middle of nowhere, where you can freely change lanes without having to change your speed. If you are driving along in the left lane here, chances are you will have to slow down if you move over to let someone pass you.

How come BMW's shipped here to NoVA for sale/lease don't have working turn signals? Is that a prohibitively expensive option?

I like to get in the left lane and go about 60 mph. I am old and retired and pissing people off is a little hobby of mine. My mint condition 1999 Mercury Sable still runs like new and I just drive around for the hell of it. Retiring at just 52 years of age is hard and I have to do something with all that free time.
