The Little River United Church of Christ is offering the United Church of Christ's adult curriculum, White Privilege: Let's Talk—A Resource for Transformational Dialogue (http://privilege.uccpages.org/). The curriculum is designed to invite church members to engage in safe, meaningful, substantive, and bold conversations on race. Gatherings and discussions began January 8 and continue weekly at 9:00 am.
The curriculum will lead participants through four areas of focus: telling the story of your spiritual journey through the lens of race; looking at the dynamic of a culture in which whiteness is the established norm; learning how America attaches a cash value to whiteness; and inviting the participants to commit to becoming an ally in the pursuit of racial equity. This is a seven week program. The remaining dates will be January 29, and February 5, 12, 19, and 26. We hope to see you there.

This is a downloadable resource in PDF format that's free of charge and can be used by any church regardless of size or budget. Contents include the Curriculum and a Lesson Outline provided by the Massachusetts Conference of the United Church of Christ.
Divided into four focused parts, each one introduces a different aspect of the dynamic of white privilege:

I am wondering if there is a staff person at the UCC headquarters who we might be able to reach out to for guidance. We are planning this study as a Lenten adult ed offering. I am just not sure how to best facilitate it. I heard there are podcasts for Chapter 1, but can't find them. We are very excited about the study. Any help you can provide would be most appreciated. Thank you so much!

OMG! Thank you, Thank you! I am humbled and honored that this resource is going be shared in our community! I truly believe what we are seeing in our Nation isn't a reflection of the majority. Just wondering when did this trend start, lecturing Americans on diversity? It was long before Trump. As far as I know, most Americas were more than accepting of other cultures.
We adopted using English and Spanish in business and government forms, on voice mail options over 20 years ago. The police, county and schools have forever been writing and accommodating foreigners in all languages via hand outs, teaching in our public schools (at great additional expense) , and translators (in the police cases) Heck even tolerated the illegals.
Now we need to be lectured?
This is all a part of conditioning for the new world order. We lose our sovereignty in exchange for giving away our country, and the left who talks about FREEDOM is right in line. Fools.....

I am attending these classes so that I can better talk with my fellow human beings.
Because only through understanding can we communicate and learn to love each other.
