Protesters Being Sent To Guantanamo Bay - Charged With Terrorism
Posted by: Demonstrators Beware ()

Far left agitators are planning to block access to the 2017 presidential inauguration by disabling the Washington DC metro line, a potentially terrorist act which may constitute a federal offense.

Leaders from several left-wing organizations are conducting training workshops informing “comrades” how anti-inauguration events will proceed.

But the FBI and Homeland Security have news for anyone who tries to interfere with the activities surrounding the inauguration, which has been officially designated as a national security protection event.

"Suspected terrorists may immediately be sent to Guantanamo Bay for processing while we sort it all out," said a security planner, who refused to be identified due to the classified nature of their operations. That process generally takes at least several months.

The challenge for demonstrators is that there is no clear line between legal passive protesting and a terrorist act, according to one organizer. A situation can quickly escalate, and there is no way to stop detaining actions from happening once they begin. An act that causes a member of the public to believe they are being held hostage can easily be viewed as a terrorist act by authorities.

Demonstration leaders also worry that inexperienced protesters could inadvertently commit a minor offense that is viewed as an act of terror, and would be whisked away for months with no one to advocate for them.

This is one downside to President Obama's almost-but-not-quite closing Guantanamo Bay. The infrastructure and staff are all in place, with plenty of bed space available for planeloads of new arrivals.

Q: What if I get arrested? Is there a phone number I can call?

A: Our legal hotline number is (202) 670-6866.

Please note that we are working with local and federal law enforcement and do not intend to engage in any civil disobedience. We expect all marchers to abide by all laws and any instruction of law enforcement. Finally, we are planning a peaceful demonstration and are training marshals in de-escalation tactics and ask that all marchers remain peaceful.

Q: I am a non-citizen planning to attend the march, what should I be aware of?

A: We have spoken to law enforcement regarding their policies as it relates to undocumented immigrants and they have stated they will not be making any arrests of law-abiding marchers, no matter what their status is. We will also have a team of immigration defense attorney available on the day of the march to respond to your questions. Our legal hotline number is (202) 670-6866. If you are traveling to Washington, D.C. for the march, please review "8 Things Immigrants Can Do if Traveling to Washington, DC for Marches or Actions" from our friends at the National Immigration Project.

The "one phone call" rule only exists on TV.

Bullshit.

Most States have it codified, Virginia ( Title 19.2. Criminal Procedure) and the District of Columbia offer the right to a phone call in their penal codes.

Plus, Defense attorneys can usually argue that denying a person who has been arrested a phone call is equivalent to not allowing the person the right to counsel and could motion to dismiss.

Or Trumpkins. I'd enjoy pulverizing Trump supporters into a pulp.

There are a lot of myths about criminal law. For example, if a cop doesn’t read me my “Miranda Rights” the case gets thrown out, right? (No.) Or, a paid lawyer must be better than a public defender. (Not necessarily.) The idea of the “one” phone call remains a standard myth.

It's long distance from Gitmo, so you will be calling collect.
