High School teachers ranking presidents

I am worried because my DD told us today, that her teacher said Obama will be rank as the top 10 president of all time. Are Goverment teachers alllowed to talk about THEIR OWN VIEWS TO STUDENTS? Will the principal and AP just laugh at me if I tell them to STOP talking about POLITICS in the classroom?

I emailed FOX NEWS to see if they can do a story about this

SOUTH LAKES HIGH SCHOOOL

They shouldn't be but they seem to do it all the time in FFX County. No room anymore for challenging or critical thinking.

Don't give up the battle....get involved if you can.

A teacher at JEB Stuart tweeted last fall....."2016, the year socialism became Cool"

Don't mind a teacher having their own opinion, but I don't want my kid "indoctrinated" by anyone, including me.

There is another name for them which is used here. I can’t think of it off-hand.

Yawn. My elementary school teacher made our class write and present papers on our "three greatest American presidents" several decades ago. Most people had Washington, Lincoln, FDR and JFK. My list included Jackson and Teddy Roosevelt. If I was younger Reagan would also have been common. If you don't want your kids exposed to opinions you don't agree with, send your kid to private school.

There are going to be teachers in a private school with whom you won't agree. Government class is about analysis and critical though, not merely rote memorization. It is appropriate for students to think about what criteria to use to "rank" a U.S. President and how the presidents would place. What wouldn't be appropriate would be if a teacher used his/her bias to give a lover grade to a student's paper of similar quality due to a difference of political opinion.

Total BS...their job is to teach the skill of critical thinking, not indoctrinate. They shouldn't teach their OWN opinions as the only choice. It's taking advantage of the kids, they are very influenced by their teachers.

Often their parents (at least in NOVA) don't even speak English to offer other messages, be it political or moral.
